I'm in Conan, I'm not a gangster

Chapter 367 Conan's Decision

Chapter 367 Conan's Decision (1st Update)
"Long time no see, Shiraishi-kun." Yusaku turned around and greeted Shiraishi E, his gentle smile tinged with weariness.

Clearly, he has not had an easy time during this period.

Investigating the Black Organization is no easy task.

Yukiko, who was standing next to her, smiled as a greeting.

"Good evening, author Kudo," Shiraishi E greeted.

"I'm sorry to trouble you to take care of Conan and Yukiko during this time." Yusaku said, gesturing for the other person to sit down on the sofa.

He pushed up his glasses and sighed, "I never expected to encounter something like that on the Suzuki family's cruise ship... Thank goodness you were there."

"Who says otherwise?" Shiraishi E didn't expect the organizers to be so bold as to cause trouble directly on the ship of the Japan First Group, which was equivalent to slapping them in the face.

From this perspective, the prestige of this top group is clearly not high; it's just a gimmick.

Just like the Forbes list of the world's billionaires, it's just for fun.

Truly wealthy people never let you know they are rich.

While the two were exchanging pleasantries, Yukiko took the initiative to get up and pour a cup of hot tea, placing it in front of Shiraishi E.

Seeing that the pleasantries were almost over, Yusaku got down to business: "Shiraishi-kun is a smart man, so I won't beat around the bush. I wonder how you figured out that he was Shinichi?"

"Judging from his acting skills," E Shiraishi said bluntly, "he did not inherit Ms. Yukiko's acting skills."

"Wasn't my acting convincing enough?" Conan retorted. "Besides you, who else would think I don't look like a child?"

Yukiko said irritably, "Have you ever seen a kid who isn't afraid of a dead body and even rushes to it? Professional detectives are still completely baffled, and you're already starting to deduce!"

"..." Conan was speechless for a moment, losing the courage to refute what he was said.

Yusaku chuckled twice and said, "That is indeed a point of suspicion. But once suspicion is raised, an investigation will easily confirm it... Although the age has changed, the genes cannot be changed."

He paused for a moment and then said, "However, Shiraishi-kun... I'm curious, how did you know about Gin's situation? Of course, if you find this difficult to answer, just pretend I have no question."

Shiraishi took a sip of tea and said unhurriedly, "If you, Kudo, could tell me how you determined Gin's location, I could answer your question."

Yusaku said with a playful expression, "How did you know I had pinpointed Gin's location?"

Shiraishi looked at Conan: "If he didn't know my location, why would he call me over? It couldn't be that he's inviting me to dinner, could it? Conan isn't that hospitable."

These words made Conan scratch his head awkwardly, realizing that he might not actually be that warm and hospitable.

"It seems you really do know Shinichi well." Yusaku remarked, then stopped asking how the other knew about Gin.

Because he didn't want to reveal how he determined Gin's location.

Anyone who's been in the business knows the importance of intelligence.

Otherwise, he would be like Conan, completely blind, unable to find out anything about the Black Organization even after shrinking for so long.

His contact with the organization was purely by luck; he "stumbled" upon people and events related to the Black Organization on several occasions.

"Regarding the information you provided," Yusaku took a file out of his briefcase, "I confirmed Gin's recent movements through a friend."

"Where is it?" Upon hearing this, Conan sat up abruptly. The light reflected off his glasses, but it couldn't hide the urgency in his eyes!

Yusaku glanced at Conan, who was getting impatient, and said helplessly, "Conan, calm down."

"Sorry, sorry, I'll change it next time." Conan said, quickly taking the document and looking at it. He excitedly said, "It's inside an unfinished building in Yokohama Minato Ward? Great! Now we finally know where he is."

Shiraishi glanced at Yusaku and marveled at how resourceful he was, managing to find out such information.

This guy probably saved the life of some police officer or FBI agent before, right? Otherwise, why would I tell him such important information?
"I'm going to investigate!" Conan said impatiently, his fist clenching involuntarily.

He felt his blood boiling—he finally had the chance to face the man who had shrunk him!

"No way!" Yukiko immediately slammed her cup down, spilling a few drops of tea onto the table.

She stood up, her white skirt swaying like flames, and objected, "This is too dangerous!"

"Mom!" Conan turned to face his mother, his voice trembling with excitement, "Don't you want me to turn back? Don't you want to see the old Shinichi again?"

Yukiko quickly walked to Conan, knelt down, and cupped his face in her hands. Conan could feel the trembling in his mother's palms, and then he heard her say, "Shinichi."

Her voice suddenly softened as she asked, "Isn't it good for you to be like this right now?"

Conan was stunned.

Yukiko's question startled him, and his heart tightened!
"Weren't you having a great time in the Detective Boys?" Yukiko countered. "Ayumi and the others helped you solve cases every day and even went with you to investigate their cases... Will you still have friends like that when you go back to being a high school student?"

This sentence immediately silenced Conan.

As a high school student, Shinichi Kudo has almost no one who shares his interests and hobbies, except for E Shiraishi, whom he recently met.

My friends aren't interested in mystery or anything like that at all, not even my childhood friend, Xiao Lan Yuanzi.

On the contrary, when he was working as Conan Edogawa, before he even started, three children dragged him into joining the Junior Detective League.

Although they weren't much of a help and often caused him trouble, the three of them did enjoy deduction and shared his hobby.

Every time he was reasoning, they would look at him with envy and admiration, and they would even discuss it with him!

Conan really enjoys spending time with the three members of the Detective Boys!
The living room fell silent.

Yusaku also looked at Conan thoughtfully, waiting for the other's answer.

He was actually on Yukiko's side.

Whether considering the difficulty of turning back into a high school student or from a life perspective, he felt that Conan staying in his current form was not necessarily a bad thing.

Of course, this is assuming there are no side effects.

However, he still chose to respect his son's opinion.

Shiraishi E didn't speak, but simply lowered her head to sip her hot tea, a smile playing on her lips.

He understood the attitude of the Kudo couple.

Although Yusaku Kudo didn't speak, silence is sometimes an attitude... He agreed with Yukiko's point of view.

Unfortunately, none of them understood their son.

Does Conan want to turn back into Shinichi Kudo?
No, he craves a life full of danger and excitement; he longs to outwit and outmaneuver dangerous and deadly enemies!
He wants to become a great detective like Sherlock Holmes!

Whether or not you can turn back into Shinichi Kudo, the relationship isn't actually that important.

“But Mom,” Conan’s voice lowered, “I can’t run away forever. There are some things that Shinichi Kudo has to face.”

Yukiko said angrily, "You're asking for it!"

Her voice suddenly rose: "Do you think those people are like the thieves you usually deal with? They're dangerous!!"

"Yukiko," Yusaku called softly, wanting to say something, but was interrupted by her.

"Enough!" Yukiko suddenly stood up, her long hair whipping through the air in an arc. "I know I can't convince you anymore. Do whatever you want! I don't care anymore!"

After saying that, she turned and walked towards the entrance, her footsteps making a distinct sound in the quiet mansion.

The loud slamming of the entryway door caused the picture frames on the wall to shake slightly.

Conan looked helplessly at the entryway, sighed, and said, "Sigh, Mom always treats me like a child... I already know that, okay?"

“Hmm…indeed.” Shiraishi E nodded in agreement.

He knew about Yukiko's concern for Conan, but he also understood Conan's ambition to spread his wings and soar.

Neither of them is wrong; they just have different perspectives.

"In that case, let's begin our discussion." Yusaku adjusted his glasses. "Conan, this operation must be flawless, understand?"

Conan nodded, then focused his attention and began to discuss the action plan.
