I'm in Conan, I'm not a gangster

Chapter 392 Heiji's Appearance

Chapter 392 The Appearance of 'Heiji' (1st Update)
Not long after Shiraishi E and Vermouth met, the door to the café was pushed open.

Ran, Sonoko, and Kazuha walked in, chatting and laughing. Their faces radiated youthful energy, as if injecting new life into the entire café.

"Miss Chris! Good morning!" Xiao Lan was the first to spot Vermouth and waved enthusiastically in greeting.

Sonoko immediately came over and said excitedly, "What a coincidence! I can't believe I've run into you here!"

Kazuha followed behind the two and greeted them with a faint smile on her face.

Her gaze swept around the coffee shop, as if searching for something.

When she saw Shiraishi E, her heart trembled involuntarily, and she felt shy.

Last night's massage was too much of a shock for her.

Why am I pressing buttons everywhere?

Although Kazuha felt a sense of unease, she couldn't say anything when she thought about how Ran and Sonoko had all gone through it. She could only follow along.

Vermouth stood up gracefully, giving an apologetic smile: "Good morning, everyone. I'm so sorry about yesterday. I was a bit tired and rested in my room by myself, so I couldn't play beach volleyball with you."

Xiao Lan quickly waved her hand and said gently, "It's alright, Miss Chris. Your health is the most important thing. We had a lot of fun!"

Sonoko eagerly pulled out her phone and excitedly shoved it in front of Vermouth: "Oh, right, here's a picture of us from yesterday! If you like it, I'll send it to you right now!"

Vermouth took the phone and carefully looked through the photos, occasionally exclaiming, "They're really well taken; everyone's smiles are so beautiful."

Seeing that the two women had already sat down next to "Chris," Kazuha had no choice but to sit down on the sofa next to Shiraishi E, pretending that nothing had happened.

The waiter came over, and after she ordered a coffee, she felt she had to say something, otherwise she would feel a little uncomfortable!
Kazuha took the initiative to start a conversation, saying, "Shiraishi-kun, why didn't Heiji come?"

Shiraishi E put down her coffee cup and replied gently, "Heiji didn't get back until almost midnight and is still sleeping at the hotel. He probably won't get up until the afternoon."

Kazuha rested her chin on her hands and complained to Shiraishi E in a resentful tone, "Heiji is such an unreliable guy! He brought me all the way from Osaka, but as soon as we got here, he just abandoned me and doesn't care about me anymore. All he does all day is investigate cases!"

Shiraishi E smiled gently. Of course, he wouldn't be foolish enough to kick someone when they're down and speak ill of Heiji. He comforted him gently, "Don't say that. Heiji actually cares about you a lot. He knows you're bored by yourself, so he specially asked a few of us to come and keep you company."

He thought for a moment and added, "When Heiji came back last night, he specifically asked you if you had fun."

"Hmph, he's just saying that." Kazuha snorted twice, merely venting his dissatisfaction, but he wasn't actually angry.

After all, they grew up together, how could she not know what Heiji's personality was like?
When she came to Mermaid Island with him, she was prepared to accompany him on his investigations.

She rested her chin on her hand and muttered, "Sigh, if only Heiji had half of your maturity and composure, Shiraishi-kun!"

Shiraishi E smiled gently and said, "If that's the case, then he wouldn't be called Heiji."

These words made Kazuha think. If Heiji was no longer impulsive, reckless, and clueless about romance, would he still be the Heiji she knew?
Thinking of this, she nodded in agreement.

During the conversation, the restaurant door was suddenly pushed open, and a familiar figure rushed in.

"Sorry, sorry! I got up a little late!" Heiji scratched his head, gave everyone a slightly apologetic smile, then glanced around before sitting down in the empty seat next to Kazuha, his movements as natural as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Shiraishi E was clearly taken aback when she saw Heiji appear, then realized that this was an imposter created by Vermouth using her disguise technique.

The purpose was to make the other girls believe that "Heiji" was still there.

When Ran saw Heiji arrive alone, she asked, "Heiji, where's Conan? Why isn't he with you?"

Heiji waved his hand dismissively and said, "That kid's still sleeping, don't worry about him!"

After he finished speaking, his attention fell on Vermouth across from him.

Then, he stopped moving, and his eyes lit up instantly!

A smile spread across his face, and he asked directly, "Xiao Lan, this beautiful young lady, we haven't met before, have we? May I ask your name?"

A hint of amusement flashed in Vermouth's eyes, and she parted her red lips slightly, saying, "Chris Vineyard, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"Hello, Miss Chris. My name is Hattori Heiji." Heiji said, extending his hand.

Vermouth chuckled and reached out to hold his hand.

This scene made Kazuha grit her teeth, her eyes burning with rage, wishing she could punch Heiji in the face!
After letting go, Heiji continued the conversation with a grin: "Is this your first time on this island, Miss Chris? Would you like to go scuba diving together? I've heard the underwater scenery around here is especially beautiful!"

Vermouth raised an eyebrow slightly, seemingly quite interested in his suggestion. She rested her chin on her hand, looking at him with keen interest: "Oh? Hattori-kun, do you know where we can go sea diving?"

Upon seeing her response, Heiji immediately perked up, patted his chest, and said confidently, "Of course! I searched the entire island yesterday and know where to rent yachts, and they're fully equipped!"

Ranko, who was standing nearby, noticed something was wrong... Heiji seemed to have a thing for Miss Chris!

Seeing Kazuha's tense face, the two exchanged a knowing glance and realized they had to do something.

Xiaolan quickly chimed in, "Diving? That sounds really interesting! We want to go too!"

"The last time I went diving was several years ago!" Sonoko also showed interest.

Heiji readily nodded: "Then let's all go together! It'll be more lively with more people!"

After saying that, he stood up and said with great enthusiasm, "Then I'll go rent a yacht and diving equipment right now!" Before he finished speaking, he had already rushed out of the restaurant, leaving only a gust of wind behind.

Kazuha stared dumbfounded at his retreating figure, unconsciously clenching her fists as a surge of anger welled up inside her: This guy... he actually invited another woman to go scuba diving right in front of me?!
Ran and Sonoko weren't blind; they sensed Kazuha's anger.
The two women quickly went over and switched places with Shiraishi E, and began to comfort Kazuha.
"Kazuha, don't overthink it! Heiji did this just to make everyone happy!"

"Yes, yes! He stayed up so late investigating last night, but he still got up this morning to be with you. I think Heiji still cares about you."

"Think about it, Heiji didn't even know Miss Chris was here before he arrived. He was clearly here for you."

"."

Under the persuasive words of Ran and Sonoko, Kazuha gradually came to believe their point, and her anger subsided. However, she still stubbornly insisted, "I'm not angry." "Isn't being angry just saying I'm jealous?" "I'm not angry at all!"
When Ran and Sonoko heard what Kazuha said, they secretly breathed a sigh of relief; they had finally been appeased.
