Chapter 399 Heiji Gets Arrested Again

Chapter 399 Heiji Gets Arrested Again (2 Updates)
In the corridor, hurried footsteps and heavy breathing mingled together.

Shiraishi E charged ahead, her silenced pistol accurately striking down one black-clad man after another who blocked her path.

At that moment, a door on the side suddenly opened, and a man in black rushed out, attempting to launch a sneak attack.

Xiao Lan reacted quickly, kicking the black-clad attacker away with a side kick!

Sonoko and Kazuha immediately followed up with several shots, killing the other person with a series of bangs.

"..." Heiji, who was walking at the very back, was stunned when he saw this scene.

He quickly rubbed his eyes, wondering if he was dreaming.
How did you manage to coordinate so well?
He couldn't help but ask, "Why do you all look so skilled?"

"We gradually broke in on the way," Kazuha said with a happy smile. "I didn't expect us to be so in sync!"

Ran and Sonoko were also surprised by this. They didn't expect to have such a good understanding with Kazuha, even though they hadn't known each other for very long!
Heiji said in a fit of frustration, "I didn't mean you guys have great teamwork, I meant—"

Before he could finish speaking, a bullet grazed his ear, knocking out a tuft of hair.

This unexpected turn of events sent chills down Heiji's spine, and his heart was pounding wildly!

Shiraishi E turned around and shot the man in black who had ambushed Heiji, warning, "This is not the time to chat, watch your step!"

"I...I...I understand." Heiji swallowed hard, realizing he had just brushed with death.

Luckily, the man in black missed his shot, otherwise he would have died here.

He cursed himself for being careless, then, not daring to be distracted, he followed closely behind Shiraishi E as they fled.

However, men in black kept arriving from all around, constantly surrounding them.

"Damn it, there are more and more of them!" Heiji cursed, his face grim. He could even feel the barrel of his pistol getting hot!

"Yes, Eri. This can't go on like this." Ran also sensed that the situation was not good.

"They must be starting to surround us." Shiraishi E guessed the actions of the men in black.

He originally planned to fight his way out, but seeing how panicked and scared everyone else looked, he decided to change his plans.

As the old saying goes, you have to eat one bite at a time and walk one step at a time.

Killing so many people at once, those four green recruits probably couldn't handle it.

Thinking of this, Shiraishi E stopped, pointed to the stairs and said, "Go upstairs!"

"But..." Heiji was about to say something when Shiraishi E interrupted him: "There's no chance to explain, hurry up and go up!"

Seeing this, Heiji stopped talking and chose to trust the other party, quickly running upstairs.

This time, he became the vanguard.

In order to avoid being killed, Heiji had to concentrate intensely and fire immediately if anyone appeared in front of him!
Shiraishi E walked at the very back, covering everyone's ascent to the second floor. While urging them to continue up, he bought several grenades from the bandit shop and threw them up the stairs.
With a loud bang, the stairs behind them were blown to pieces, temporarily blocking the pursuers.

This relieved the other four, and they slowed their escape.

After everyone ran to the fourth floor, all four of them, except for Shiraishi E, were exhausted.

"I'm so...so tired." Sonoko plopped down on the floor, breathing heavily. "I...I don't even feel this tired after playing tennis for an hour."

Xiaolan and He Ye nodded in agreement, both feeling that this was much more tiring than practicing martial arts.

Heiji was in no mood to chat with the girls. Ignoring his rest, he opened the door to check the situation and his face turned grim: "Damn it, this is a dead end... there's no way out! What do we do now?"

"Don't rush, I remember there's a swimming pool here." Shiraishi E saw a swimming pool when she came in.

He walked to the window on the side of the room, opened it, and saw the swimming pool in the backyard of the villa shimmering with a deep blue light.

“Jump down and escape from here,” Shiraishi E said decisively. “I’ll catch you down below.”

"W-what?" Sonoko, who had followed, took a step back in horror upon hearing the escape plan, and couldn't help but swallow hard: "This is the fourth floor!"

Kazuha's face also turned pale: "Yes...this is too dangerous! And there's no other way."

“That’s all,” Shiraishi E reminded him. “Don’t worry, it’s safer than you think… Let me demonstrate for you first.”

Without hesitation, he leaped into the pool, his slender figure tracing a graceful arc in the air before landing with a "plop" in the pool with a professional motion, making little noise or splash.

The water quickly returned to calm, and a moment later, Shiraishi E poked her head out of the water and waved upwards, signaling to jump quickly.

"Jump! He's right, this is the only way to survive." Heiji urged the three girls, who were still clearly frightened, "Don't hesitate! If they catch you, you're finished!!" These threatening words, combined with the noisy footsteps coming from downstairs, clearly indicated that the pursuers were trying to find a way up.

"I'll go first." Xiaolan mustered her courage, took a deep breath, and was the first to stand on the windowsill.

She suppressed her fear, but her eyes were unusually firm as she turned around and said, "Sonoko, Kazuha, hurry up and follow me." After saying that, she decisively jumped down.

Xiaolan was very scared, but she kept her mouth tightly shut, not letting herself make a sound.

Just as she was about to enter the water, Shiraishi E had already reached her landing point. A pair of strong arms steadily caught Ran, and her body was pulled backward, creating a series of splashes as the force of the impact was rapidly dissipated.

Fortunately, he was strong and could withstand the impact.

Xiaolan opened her eyes and saw Shiraishi E's face so close to hers, water droplets dripping from his hair.

"Are you alright?" he asked softly.

Xiao Lan blushed and nodded.

Shiraishi gestured for Ran to move aside, then looked up and saw that Sonoko was already prepared.

He made an OK sign.

Sonoko also jumped down decisively.

In the same way, they caught the garden.

Then it was Kazuha's turn. Although she hesitated for a moment before jumping, she finally mustered up the courage to jump.

Shiraishi E still managed to catch the other person steadily.

Heiji breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that the other three had safely landed in the pool; in the end, he was the only one left.

Just as he was about to jump, a gunshot rang out.

"boom!"

"Ah!" Heiji groaned, kneeling on one knee, blood gushing from his thigh.

As soon as the gunshot rang out, Heiji suddenly fell back into the house through the window.

Shiraishi immediately realized something was wrong, and he turned around and covered Kazuha's mouth, effectively stopping her from opening her mouth.

Inside the fourth-floor room, Gin's cold figure appeared at the door, the gun in his hand still emitting blue smoke.

Vodka stood behind him, a sinister smile on his face.

"Trying to run away?" Gin sneered.

Heiji, enduring excruciating pain, raised his trembling pistol in an attempt to retaliate.

However, before he could even aim, another shot rang out, the pistol was knocked away, and his hand was numb from the shock!
"You brat, you dare to resist?" Vodka strode forward, kicking Heiji in the temple as he cursed viciously, "Go to hell!"

Heiji's vision went black, and he lost consciousness.

Gin walked to the window, his sharp gaze sweeping over the swimming pool below.

The pool surface was as calm as a mirror, but a long trail of water stretched across the ground around the pool, disappearing behind the wall.

"Big brother, what are you looking at?" Vodka asked curiously as he approached.

“His accomplices escaped,” Gin said, narrowing his eyes. “Take some men and go after them.”

"Understood, brother!" Vodka nodded, running towards the door while calling for help over the walkie-talkie.

Gin looked at the unconscious Hattori Heiji, slowly raised the muzzle of his gun, intending to finish him off.

But at that moment, Vermouth's voice came through the walkie-talkie: "I know him. He's the son of the Osaka Prefectural Police Superintendent General, Hattori Heiji."

"Hmm?" Gin was somewhat surprised, not expecting that this dark-skinned man's identity was unusual.

He squinted and said, "Vermouth, you mean... I should keep him?"

Vermouth's amused voice came through the walkie-talkie: "I'm just telling you his identity. As for how you want to deal with him, I wouldn't dare make that decision for you."

Gin stared at the unconscious Heiji for a few seconds, then finally put away his pistol and decided to spare his life.
