Chapter 415 Leaving (2nd Update)
The torrential rain outside the window gradually subsided, and the water droplets dripping from the eaves shimmered silver in the moonlight.

Conan is greedy and wants to know everything about the organization.

Vermouth chuckled lazily and said, "Little detective, knowing too much isn't good for you."

Conan wanted to ask more questions, but Vermouth made a shushing gesture and turned to look out the window.

The sky after the rain was crystal clear and exceptionally clean!

"The hunt is over," she announced softly.

Vermouth turned around, her gaze lingering meaningfully on Shiraishi E: "It seems..."

She approached slowly, a faint scent of perfume lingering in the air: "I wasn't wrong about you."

Shiraishi E chuckled twice: "Everyone has their own secrets, don't they?"

Their eyes met in mid-air, and Vermouth chuckled softly, saying, "That's true!"

She turned gracefully and went straight to the storage room to untie the vodka.

Vodka jumped to his feet and said, "Vermouth! What are you doing here? Never mind, I'm going to go kill that detective brat first!"

"Shut up, you piece of trash. The chase is over!" Vermouth interrupted coldly. "If you can't even handle this small matter, think about how you're going to explain it to Gin!"

Vodka's face instantly turned ugly, and he left the storage room with his head down.

When they came out, Shiraishi E and Conan had already gone back inside.

In the corridor, Shiraishi E reminded Conan, "Take care of Heiji more often in the future."

"He joined the organization this time because of you. If something happens to him in the future... you won't be able to sleep at night anymore."

Conan adjusted his glasses, the lenses reflecting a white light, and stated confidently, "Is there even a question? From now on, his affairs are my affairs—"

"Conan!!!"

A roar interrupted him. Ran and Sonoko stood menacingly at the end of the corridor.

Xiaolan's fists were clenched so tightly they cracked, and Yuanzi was holding a feather duster she'd somehow found.

"Ran-chan, Sonoko-chan." Conan broke out in a cold sweat and unconsciously took a step back.

"You actually knew to come back?!" Ran rushed forward and grabbed Conan's ear, twisting it repeatedly. "You sneaked away! You made us worry! And you even lied to us!!"

"Ouch! Ouch! I was wrong! I really know I was wrong!" Conan pleaded on tiptoe, tears welling up in his eyes. "I won't do it again! I absolutely won't!"

Sonoko brandished a feather duster and started hitting him: "You said the same thing last time!"

Even after the two of them teamed up and beat Conan up, they were still not satisfied.

Ran turned to Shiraishi E: "E, we have to teach him a lesson this time!!!"

Shiraishi E revealed a dangerous smile and said, "It should have been done long ago!" As he spoke, he walked towards the courtyard, saying, "Wait for me."

A moment later, he returned carrying a wooden stick as thick as an arm, the stick dragging on the ground with a dull thud.

Ran, Sonoko, and Conan all swallowed hard.

“Come on, hold him down.” Shiraishi E stretched her wrists. “I guarantee I can break his leg with one blow.”

Conan's face turned pale instantly: "Wait! This is too much! A stick this big could kill someone!"

"No, I'm very careful!" Shiraishi E assured.

"I don't believe you! You've already accidentally killed several people!" Conan said frantically. "What if you miss again? I'll be dead!! No, no! Absolutely not!"

These words struck a chord with Xiaolan, and she instantly calmed down, hesitatingly saying, "Yes, isn't breaking a leg with that...too much?"

"Besides, this is the middle of nowhere, there's no hospital here." Sonoko quickly chimed in, "If we don't go, it'll be troublesome if we suffer from aftereffects."

Conan nodded repeatedly, as if grasping at a straw: "Yes, yes, yes! Let's change the punishment! A spanking is fine too!" Shiraishi E pretended to think, finally nodding "reluctantly": "Alright, a spanking it is then." He glanced at Conan, "But if you dare to dodge..."

Conan quickly assured him, "I definitely won't dodge! You... be gentle!"

He desperately tried to wink at Shiraishi E.

Shiraishi E's lips curled into a slight smile: "Don't worry, I'll be very 'gentle'."

He raised the wooden stick high—

"Snapped!!!"

With a sharp crack, the wooden stick snapped in two, and Conan's scream echoed throughout the house.

His body stiffened abruptly, then slumped limply in the corridor, completely unconscious.

"Conan!!" Ran rushed forward in fright.

"It's nothing, it's nothing!" Shiraishi E threw away the broken stick: "I just fainted from the pain."

He picked up Conan and returned him to Conan.

After seeing that Heiji had just finished applying the medicine, he handed Conan to him and said, "Come and help me apply some medicine."

After Heiji carried the unconscious Conan away, Shiraishi Ei pulled Ran and Sonoko to sit down on the sofa.

His expression softened: "Did Vermouth make things difficult for you after she took you away?"

Xiaolan shook her head, her fingers twisting nervously together: "She's actually quite nice to us."

“Yes, she didn’t hurt us.” Sonoko said seriously for once, “She even prepared hot cocoa and blankets for us.”

"It's good that you're alright." Shiraishi Ei knew that Vermouth wouldn't hurt the two of them, but she still had to show her concern.

After chatting for a bit, he glanced at the weather outside the window. It was starting to clear up, so he said, "It's not raining anymore, we should go."

"Okay, let's go quickly!" Xiaolan didn't want to stay here any longer.

"Go back quickly, it's not safe here at all!" Sonoko wished she could go back right now and get away from this place of trouble.

After Conan woke up, Shiraishi E said goodbye to Shimabukuro Kimie and boarded a boat with Heiji and Kazuha, leaving Mermaid Island.

After returning to Tokyo, Heiji did not immediately go back to Osaka, but went to the hospital for treatment.

Conan chose to accompany the other party throughout the entire process.

Sonoko also went home to rest and process what had happened in the past two days.

Ran and Shiraishi E saw Kazuha off on the Shinkansen, and she had to go home first to let him know she was safe.

"Shiraishi-kun, Ran! Thank you for your hospitality. I will treat you well next time you come to Osaka!" Kazuha waved goodbye and went to get her car.

Ran waved goodbye, and only after Kazuha left did she say, "I feel like... Kazuha and Heiji had a fight?"

“It’s not just a guess, it’s definitely true.” Shiraishi E corrected Ran, saying, “Otherwise, she would definitely stay to take care of Heiji.”

Xiaolan said with some distress, "Why did we start arguing? That's strange..."

Of course, Shiraishi E wouldn't say that Heiji did it on purpose.

This kid has realized how dangerous the situation he's facing is, which is why he deliberately broke up with Kazuha to keep the other person away from him.

He changed the subject, saying, "We'll find out by asking Heiji... Let's go back to the office; Detective Mouri should be back from his party by now."

"Okay!!" Xiaolan nodded, not wanting to think too much about it.
