Chapter 458 The Ambush in the Hospital Corridor

Chapter 458 The Ambush in the Hospital Corridor (1st Update)
Shiraishi E and Akemi exchanged a knowing glance, then went to the bedside and carefully adjusted their strength.

Shiraishi E supported Miyano Elena's back with one hand and slipped the other hand under her knees, while Akemi steadily supported her shoulders and waist.

"Three, two, one—" With a soft count, they slowly lifted the frail Elena from the hospital bed.

Her body was frighteningly light, and the outline of her bones was clearly visible beneath her white hospital gown.

The wheelchair had already been adjusted to the optimal angle, and the two of them worked together to place her in it. Shiraishi quickly pulled the seatbelt over, carefully fastened each buckle, and then wrapped her legs with a blanket.

In the corner, Kenzo Masuyama bit one end of a bandage and tied a knot in the wound on his left arm with one hand.

Cold sweat beaded on his forehead, but his movements remained swift. After confirming that the bleeding had stopped, he crouched down to search the three unconscious female nurses—searching their pockets, checking the inside of their collars, and even prying open their jaws to see if they were hiding any weapons, but in the end he only found a few empty syringes.

"Tsk." He stood up in disappointment. Without any weapons, he had no hope of escaping the hospital.

"Here you go." Shiraishi suddenly tossed him a Glock 17, which Masuyama Kenzo caught reflexively, the cold touch of the metal startling him.

"You take it, I might not be able to take care of myself later." Shiraishi Ei had to keep an eye on Akemi and Miyano Elena, and didn't have the extra energy to take care of Masuyama Kenzo.

Kenzo Masuyama ran his thumb along the gun handle, the familiar touch giving him a surge of security. He smiled and said, "Thanks, kid. You can keep your back to me now!"

He was well aware of the current situation; if they continued to fight amongst themselves, none of them would likely make it out of the hospital.

He admitted that the bandits were very powerful offensively, and almost no one could withstand them.

But offense and defense are never the same thing.

The attacker only needs to take care of themselves; they can think about how to counterattack.

But when it comes to protection, it's not just about taking care of yourself; you also have to focus your attention on the object of protection.

Lack of focus is the most fatal thing in battle.

Shiraishi E had no idea that Masuyama Kenzo was thinking these things; if he had, he would have been secretly laughing.

He will definitely be able to escape.

Buy an escape rope from the bandit shop, rappel down the window, and you can avoid the ambush.

But doing that would be incredibly lame.

How can others know how awesome you are if you don't fight your way out of the ambush?

"I'll go first." Shiraishi Ei pulled out a Beretta 92F with her backhand, the crisp sound of the bullet being chambered was particularly jarring in the deathly silent ward.

The moment his leather shoes stepped out of the room, the hallway overhead light suddenly started flickering.

At the corner where a nurse should have been on duty, the IV bottle on the cart was still swaying slightly, and a drag mark on the ground extended towards the fire escape.

Even Mingmei, a complete novice, felt tense upon witnessing this scene, unconsciously gripping the wheelchair handles tightly, and the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end.

"Stay close." Shiraishi E's voice cut through the stagnant air like a blade. In the unseen shadows, he could already hear five different breathing sounds.

As he walked, he deliberately let the heels of his leather shoes tap on the marble floor, creating an echo that formed a precise sonar location in the Y-shaped corridor, allowing others to pinpoint his location and concentrate their fire on him.

Kenzo Masuyama walked backwards, scanning the 180-degree area behind him with the muzzle of his gun at a rate of 20 degrees per minute. This old-school assassin's steps were so precise that they seemed to have been measured with a compass, each step was extremely accurate.

As the wheelchair passed the third ward, the attack occurred as expected.

The door of room 301 on the left suddenly burst open, and the roar of a shotgun shattered the glass ceiling.

Almost simultaneously, three gunmen wearing gas masks sprang out from the right-hand safety passage, unleashing a barrage of MP5 submachine gun bullets. Shiraishi anticipated the trajectory of the bullets the instant the shotgun was loaded; he shoved his wheelchair sharply behind a pillar, using the momentum to slide three meters to his knees.

Beretta fired continuously while gliding, and the goggles of the first gas mask shattered, smashing his face.

Without any hesitation, Mingmei threw herself onto her mother as a human shield, closing her eyes tightly.

All she could hear were the chaotic sounds of gunfire all around her. At that moment, she finally understood what it meant to be caught in a hail of bullets.

Kenzo Masuyama leaned against the load-bearing wall to avoid the attack, then observed the situation before finally firing.

The first shot pierced the killer's knee in Room 301, causing him to ram his partner's shotgun.

The second shot accurately hit the screws of the ventilation duct fence, and the falling metal mesh covered the attacker who was about to throw a smoke grenade.

Kenzo Masuyama was very pleased with himself, feeling that he was still as sharp as ever!
Just as he was about to show off to the ruthless thug, he saw the other man punch through the wall, drag the assassin out of the ward, snap the assassin's neck, grab the shotgun, and fire a barrage of shots at the ceiling. Blood seeped from the numerous bullet holes in the ceiling and then dripped onto the floor.

This scene left Kenzo Masuyama speechless.

Is this guy really that brutal?
Compared to him, my methods of killing were much cleaner.

In an instant, his newly formed sense of pride vanished.

Kenzo Masuyama felt that he was really out of his mind to think he could compete with ruthless bandits in terms of killing efficiency.

boom! !

When the last assassin collapsed in a pool of blood, clutching his throat, Shiraishi E's right sleeve of her suit had been torn open by a bullet, but she was unharmed.

"Who else?" he shouted down the corridor, checking to see if anyone else was about to launch a sneak attack.

His arrogant words may have angered the assassin.

An M67 grenade flew out from the head nurse's side and headed directly towards the three of them.

Shiraishi E saw the bumper still spinning in the air, smiled slightly, and knew it was time to show off.

He displayed a rare "gun-flicking" technique with one hand holding the gun.

The bullet struck the raised pattern on the side of the grenade mid-air!
The deflected explosives flew diagonally into the nurses' station, and amidst the deafening roar, the shattered glass from the medicine cabinets resembled a belated downpour!

"Is anyone still here?" Shiraishi asked again, but this time she received no response.

He turned to look at the unharmed Miyano mother and daughter, then saw Masuyama Kenzo with a responsible expression, and waved his hand, saying, "Alright, all cleaned up, you can go now."

"Okay...okay." Akemi was already used to Shiraishi E's clearing effect, so she quickly reacted, pushed the wheelchair again, and bypassed the corpses and various obstacles on the ground, following closely behind her.

Meanwhile, Kenzo Masuyama, a veteran assassin, only slowly caught up after sorting out his shattered worldview.

On the way, his feelings were very complicated.

Thinking about how he had been an assassin for fifty or sixty years, always proceeding with trepidation and caution, never firing a shot without certainty, he took the word "caution" to the extreme.

But right now, the bandit's fighting style has completely overturned his understanding!
How can a person be so ridiculously strong?

He even suspected that even without him, the other side could easily take care of these ambushing assassins.
