Chapter 508 The Lucky Guinea Pig

Chapter 508 The Lucky Guinea Pig (2nd Update)
Inside Hoshino Terumi's apartment.

Shiraishi E, using the pseudonym Hiroshima Atomic, sat leisurely on the leather sofa in Hoshino Terumi's house, her slender fingers gently tapping the armrest, but her gaze remained fixed on her.

"So, Ms. Hoshino," he said with a smile, his voice deep and magnetic, "how did it feel to use that drug?"

Hoshino Terumi took a deep drag of her cigarette and slowly exhaled. Amidst the swirling smoke, her expression was both calm and somewhat excited.

"The effect is very good." She smiled and said, "It kills without leaving a trace, and even the forensic doctor can't detect it."

“I have poisoned five people with this drug, and each of them died silently. The police’s final conclusion for each of them was the same: sudden death due to pathology.”

Shiraishi E nodded, seemingly satisfied with her answer.

"Could you tell me the names of those five people?" he asked.

Hoshino Terumi frowned, not understanding why he wanted to know these things.

What's the point if people are all dead? But she still answered truthfully, reciting all the names one by one.

After listening, Shiraishi E didn't say much, but turned to look at Ai sitting to the side.

"Doctor, what should we do next?" he asked.

Ai crossed her arms, her expression indifferent, and simply replied, "Go see if they're still there."

Hoshino Terumi was taken aback: "'Are you still there?' What does that mean?"

Shiraishi E smiled but didn't explain. Instead, she looked at her with interest: "Since you're interested, why don't we go take a look together? What do you say, Doctor? Is that alright?"

Ai glanced at him indifferently, her tone completely flat: "Whatever."

Hoshino Terumi's curiosity was completely piqued, and she decided to go and see what was going on.

--------

As night deepened, Shiraishi E drove a low-key black sedan through the streets of Tokyo, heading to the hospital where the bodies were kept.

Hoshino Terumi, who had dressed up a bit, sat in the back seat, occasionally looking out the car window at the neon lights flashing by.

She finally couldn't help but ask, "What...what exactly is that medicine?"

Shiraishi E gripped the steering wheel with one hand, a slight smile playing on her lips: "A magical drug that can make people young again."

Hoshino Terumi scoffed, "Rejuvenation? Don't be ridiculous. It's more like someone will die without knowing why."

Shiraishi E didn't refute, but just chuckled and pointed to Ai sitting in the back seat: "You might not believe it, but Dr. Elena is already over sixty years old."

Ai looked up and glanced speechlessly at Shiraishi E, knowing that he was just fooling Hoshino Terumi.

Sometimes she finds it really boring that they're always doing these childish things!
Hoshino Terumi was shocked, staring at Ai in disbelief: "Over sixty?! That's impossible!"

Shiraishi E's smile deepened: "Your reaction is the same as everyone else's."

Hoshino Terumi forced herself to calm down, but her heart was still racing.

She lowered her voice and asked tentatively, "Could you tell me the specifics?"

Shiraishi E's smile gradually faded, and a hint of warning appeared in her eyes.

"Knowing too much won't do you any good, child." His tone remained gentle, yet carried an undeniable air of authority: "Knowing too much will only harm you."

Hoshino Terumi remained silent.

She didn't know if Shiraishi E was telling the truth or just teasing her.

But one thing she was certain of was that tonight, she might see something beyond her comprehension.

----------

Late at night in the hospital morgue.

Emi Shiraishi led Ai and Terumi Hoshino through the hospital's dimly lit corridor, the sound of their leather shoes clicking on the floor tiles echoing clearly in the empty hallway.

The morgue attendant, a man in his fifties, was yawning and flipping through a magazine. Seeing the three approach, he looked up warily: "What brings you here?"

Shiraishi E pulled a forged detective's badge from her pocket and handed it over with a smile: "The police have commissioned an investigation into a case and need to examine several corpses."

The administrator suspiciously took the ID, but before he could examine it closely, Shiraishi E had already subtly slipped a wad of banknotes into his hand.

"Please do me a favor."

The administrator pinched the thickness of the metal plate, then immediately put on a smiling face: "Oh, so it's a police investigation, I understand! Which bodies do you need to examine?"

Shiraishi glanced at Hoshino Terumi, who stepped forward and announced the names of the five deceased.

The administrator entered the information into the computer and quickly found the corresponding body number.

"Everyone's here, come with me."

He led the three into the chilling morgue, where metal freezers were neatly arranged, gleaming with a cold light.

The administrator opened the first four freezers in order of their numbers.

The first body, Director Ishihara, had a pale face and purple lips, and died peacefully.

The second body is of a corporate executive, with his eyes closed, as if he were simply asleep.

The third body, belonging to an underground bank owner, already showed faint signs of lividity on his skin.

The fourth body is that of a politician's mistress, with traces of bright red nail polish still on her fingernails.

They lay there peacefully, without any abnormalities.

However, when the manager opened the fifth freezer, his movements suddenly froze, and his eyes widened: "This...this is impossible! Where is everyone?"

The freezer was completely empty.

"Where is he?" Shiraishi E narrowed her eyes slightly.

The administrator's face turned pale as he frantically flipped through the records: "That's not right! I put it in myself! How could this be..."

He frantically checked the other freezers and even ran to the next room to check, but the body had indeed vanished into thin air.

Shiraishi E and Ai exchanged a glance, a knowing look flashing in their eyes.

"Let's go." Ai turned and left, with Shiraishi E following closely behind.

Hoshino Terumi was completely confused, but her intuition told her that now was not the time to ask questions, so she could only hurry up and catch up.

After leaving the hospital and getting back into the car, Hoshino Terumi finally couldn't help but ask, "What on earth happened? How could the body be gone?!" Shiraishi E started the car, a meaningful smile playing on her lips, "Didn't I tell you? The real effects of that drug."

Hoshino Terumi was stunned: "Rejuvenation? You mean... he's not dead?!"

"Not only did he not die, he's 'come back to life'." Shiraishi E stepped on the gas, and the car sped away. "You know where he lives, right?"

Hoshino Terumi nodded and said, "Tokugawa Masahiko lives in a villa in the port area."

"When did he die?" Shiraishi E asked again.

Three hours ago.

Shiraishi E chuckled softly and glanced at Ai through the rearview mirror: "Doctor, we're in luck."

Ai gave a soft "hmm," a complex look flashing in her eyes: "We've already encountered a success story right from the start."

Hoshino Terumi was completely confused, but her heart was racing uncontrollably.

—Could it be that the rich kid has really come back to life?
--------

Thirty minutes later, outside the Tokugawa villa

As night deepened, Shiraishi-e's black sedan silently stopped outside the iron gate of the Tokugawa villa.

The entire villa was shrouded in darkness, except for a window on the third floor that emitted a dim yellow light, which stood out in the quiet night.

Hoshino Terumi nervously swallowed and whispered, "Should we... find a secluded place to climb over?"

Shiraishi E didn't answer, she just turned off the engine, got out of the car, and then—

He swaggered toward the main entrance.

"Hey! What are you doing?!" Hoshino Terumi's eyes widened, almost shouting, "Going in from the front? Are you crazy?!"

Ai calmly opened the car door, glanced at her, and said, "Keep up and stop talking nonsense."

Hoshino Terumi felt a chill run down her spine, but for the moment she had no choice but to grit her teeth and follow.

Shiraishi walked to the front door, bought a hacker computer from the Bandit Mall, and quickly swiped her fingers across the screen.

A few seconds later, the surveillance footage froze, and all cameras entered loop playback mode.

“Done!” he said casually.

Just then, two patrolling security guards spotted them and immediately approached warily: "Who are you? This is private property, please leave immediately!"

Shiraishi E sighed, as if she found it troublesome.

The next second—

boom!boom!
Two muffled thuds were heard, and the two security guards collapsed to the ground, unconscious, before they even had a chance to press the intercom button.

Hoshino Terumi gasped, "You...you killed them?!"

"What else? Call the police after they wake up?" Shiraishi bent down, grabbed one of the men by the ankle, and dragged him behind the bushes like a sack of potatoes to hide him.

His tone was as relaxed as if he were discussing today's weather.

The third security guard in the guard booth noticed something amiss. Just as he poked his head out, Shiraishi E had already picked up the baton from the ground and casually tossed it aside—

"Boom!"

Precise headshot.

Terumi Hoshino: "..."

She opened her mouth, but after a long pause, she managed to stammer out, "Shouldn't we... be 'infiltrating'?"

Ai walked past her calmly, hands in her pockets: "That's his method of infiltration."

He paused, then added, "You'll get used to it."

Upon entering the villa, Shiraishi E strolled leisurely down the corridor as if she were in her own home.

Occasionally, a patrolling security guard would appear, but before he could sound the alarm, he would knock him down with a karate chop. The whole process was so smooth that not a single unnecessary sound was made.

Hoshino Terumi followed behind, her heart pounding with fear.

Who exactly is this guy?!
These are all professional bodyguards! How come they're like paper in his hands?!

However, what shocked her even more was Ai's reaction.

The little girl remained expressionless throughout, even appearing somewhat bored, as if she were already accustomed to this kind of "violent intrusion."

...Just who exactly is this duo?!

Soon, the three of them swaggered into the villa and arrived at the room with the lights on.

A childish yet arrogant voice came from under the door: "Dad, Mom, I really am Tokugawa Masahiko! Now you believe me, right?!"

This was followed by a shocked response from a middle-aged couple:

"My God... this is unbelievable!"

"My dear son, tell Mom how you did it! Mom wants to be young again!"

Tokugawa Masahiko—the rich kid who should have died in the morgue—has now turned into a boy who looks like an elementary school student, sitting cross-legged on a leather sofa with a smug look on his face.

"Hehe, want to know? First, transfer 10 billion to my account!"

"What?! You—" Tokugawa's father's voice suddenly rose.

"Fine, if you won't give it to me then." Tokugawa Masahiko shrugged nonchalantly. "Anyway, I can sell myself for a good price in any laboratory I find now."

"No, no, no! We'll fight, we'll fight!" Tokugawa's mother hurriedly tried to calm him down.

After a series of phone clicks, Tokugawa's father, suppressing his anger, said, "The money's here. Now, speak!"

After confirming the receipt of the payment, Tokugawa Masahiko suddenly grinned:
"Actually... I don't know what happened, I just suddenly shrank!"

"You—!" Tokugawa's father slammed his fist on the table in anger.

Outside the door, Hoshino Terumi covered her mouth and her pupils contracted sharply after hearing these words.

—That drug…can it really make people young again?!
