Chapter 620 Resurrection Match

Chapter 620 Resurrection Match (2 Updates)
Hiroki Tsuchio stood in the center of the villa's hall, smiling as he surveyed the detectives present. His gaze swept across each face, finally settling on Junya Tokitsu.

"Due to the large number of correct answers, we will rank them according to the time taken to answer the questions." Tsuchio Hiroki's voice was particularly clear in the quiet hall: "The first place winner is Tokitsu Junya, who found the correct answer in just ten minutes."

The result immediately sparked a murmur of surprise in the hall. Shinichi Kudo frowned, clearly taken aback by the outcome.

Hattori Heiji exclaimed, "What? Ten minutes? How is that possible!"

Hiroki Tsuchio continued, "Second place goes to Shinichi Kudo, who finished in thirty minutes." He smiled meaningfully, "It seems this competition is truly full of hidden talents."

All eyes turned to the silent Hokkaido detective in the corner.

Tokitsu Junya wore a confident smile, thoroughly enjoying the surprised looks from everyone!
But Koshimizu Nanatsuki's gaze became unusually sharp. She stared intently at Tokitsu Junya, a barely perceptible hint of killing intent flashing in her eyes.

After the competition, Shiraishi E and Koshimizu Nanatsuki, as the eliminated contestants, were taken away from the villa. They followed a forest path to a detached building on the other side of the island.

The other detectives who had been eliminated earlier had gathered here, and everyone's expression was filled with unease and confusion.

Tsuchio Hiroki stood in front of everyone with a strange smile on his face: "Congratulations everyone, more than half of the contestants have been eliminated. Your revival rounds will now officially begin."

As he finished speaking, several maids pushed in a metal box. When the box was opened, everyone gasped—it contained a dozen or so handguns neatly arranged inside.

“The rules are simple,” Hiroki Tsuchio’s voice suddenly turned icy, “You need to go back to the villa and kill a detective who is still in the competition. The winner can be resurrected, the loser…”

He gave a cruel smile. "Then stay on this island forever."

At first, everyone thought it was a bad joke.

Furuta Ichiro even laughed out loud: "Hey, isn't that a bit much? We're detectives, not assassins!"

Tsuchio Hiroki did not answer, but suddenly pulled out a rifle from behind him and fired three shots into the sky.

The deafening gunshots echoed through the woods, startling a flock of birds into flight.

“I’m serious.” His eyes turned fierce. “This isn’t a game; it’s a test of survival.”

At his signal, the maids around him brandished their submachine guns, the dark muzzles pointed at the eliminated contestants.

The scene suddenly became chaotic.

Some people retreated in fear, some questioned loudly, and some collapsed to the ground.

Nanatsuki Koshimizu was the first to calm down. Without hesitation, she stepped forward, picked up a pistol from the box, and skillfully checked the magazine.

"It seems we have no choice." Her voice was unusually calm, but the hand holding the gun trembled slightly.

Inspired by her, the other eliminated contestants also stepped forward to retrieve their guns.

Shiraishi E was the last one. He slowly picked up the last pistol and thoughtfully weighed it in his hand.

After everyone had received their weapons, Shiraishi E suddenly spoke up: "Actually, we don't have to kill each other."

His voice wasn't loud, but it quieted the restless crowd.

"What do you mean?" asked a young detective wearing glasses.

Shiraishi pointed in the direction Tsuchio Hiroki had left: "There are only a few of them now, and we have guns. Instead of killing our innocent comrades, let's capture Tsuchio Hiroki and end this farce."

The suggestion was immediately met with a positive response from everyone.

Furuta Ichiro exclaimed excitedly, "That's right! Why should we listen to him? Let's all attack together!"

Amidst the fervor of the crowd, a dozen armed detectives rushed out of the building and chased after Tsuchio Hiroki in the direction he had gone.

Soon, they intercepted the director and his maids on a forest path.

"Halt!" Ichiro Furuta rushed to the front, raising his gun and pointing it at Hiroki Tsuchio. "This farce should end!"

The other detectives also raised their weapons and surrounded the director and his group.

However, Hiroki Tsuchio showed no panic on his face; instead, he displayed an expression of pity.

“Foolish,” he said softly, then suddenly raised his hand and fired a shot.

"boom!"

A gunshot rang out, and a bloody hole instantly appeared on Furuta Ichiro's forehead.

His expression froze in disbelief, and his body fell straight down.

The blood quickly stained the ground covered with fallen leaves.

Everyone was stunned by the sudden massacre.

Hiroki Tsuchio blew away the gunpowder smoke from the muzzle of his gun and said coldly, "This is a lesson. If you dare to disobey orders again, it won't be as simple as just one person dying."

After saying this, he calmly led his maids through the stunned crowd and disappeared into the depths of the woods.

Only a gradually cooling corpse and a group of detectives shrouded in fear remained. Koshimizu Nanatsuki was the first to regain her senses.

She crouched down, checked Furuta Ichiro's carotid artery, and then shook her head heavily.

“He’s right,” she said, her voice unusually calm. “This isn’t a game. If we want to leave here alive, we have to do what he says.”

Shiraishi stood at the edge of the crowd, silently observing everyone's reactions. Some broke down in tears, some cursed angrily, and a few had already begun checking their weapons, their eyes gleaming with a dangerous light.

He glanced at Nanatsuki Koshimizu, chuckled softly, and said, "Alright then, let's get started! For our lives!!"

Nanatsuki Koshimizu noticed E's gaze, but she didn't care and simply said, "I have some issues with Junya Tokitsu. Please hand this person over to me!"

Her fingers gently traced the gun's shaft, a dangerous glint in her eyes.

No one raised any objections; after all, at such a critical moment, no one wanted to cause any unnecessary trouble.

“Then I’ll choose Hattori Heiji,” said a burly detective. “I also dislike those guys. They take advantage of their fathers being the Osaka Prefectural Police Commissioner to do whatever they want at murder scenes!”

“I want Hakuba Saguru,” another tall, thin man wearing glasses pushed up his glasses. “I’ve disliked that young master for a long time.”

The discussion grew increasingly heated, as if it weren't about deciding someone's life or death, but rather about distributing spoils.

Shiraishi E remained silent to the side until a burly man with a fierce face loudly announced:

"Sato Miwako is mine! That policewoman looks amazing!"

Shiraishi Ei's eyes sharpened instantly. She subtly approached the man, asking casually, "Oh? Why did you choose her?"

The man grinned lewdly: "It's more fun taming these wild horses. Besides, I'd also like to hear the policewoman's screams before she died."

Shiraishi E nodded, a faint smile still on her face.

“Alright, time is running out,” Koshimizu Nanatsuki clapped her hands. “We’ll split up. Remember, we only have one hour.”

The group dispersed in twos and threes, stealthily making their way towards the villa.

Shiraishi deliberately slowed down, falling behind at the very end.

He noticed that the man who had been eyeing Sato Miwako was excitedly examining the weapon while humming an off-key tune.

"Hey," Shiraishi E suddenly called out to him, "Want to team up?"

The man turned around warily: "What do you mean?"

“I’m quite familiar with the villa’s layout,” Shiraishi Ei said, brandishing the gun in her hand. “Two people are always safer than one, aren’t they?”

The man hesitated for a moment, but then, thinking that he could have another helper, he nodded: "Alright, but Sato Miwako is mine, so don't interfere."

“Of course!” Shiraishi E smiled innocently. “I’m not interested in policewomen.”

The two walked through the woods, one after the other.

The man walked quickly, seemingly eager to put his plan into action. Shiraishi E followed behind at a leisurely pace, her fingers lightly tapping the handle of her gun.

“Speaking of which,” Shiraishi E suddenly spoke up, “do you know why Tsuchio Hiroo did this?”

The man didn't even turn his head: "Who cares? As long as I can live."

“That’s true,” Shiraishi E nodded, “but I think…”

Before he could finish speaking, he suddenly lunged forward, covered the man's mouth with his left hand, and pressed a gun against his back with his right.

"Shh," Shiraishi whispered in his ear, "Don't make a sound, I'll give you a quick death."

"Ugh!" The man stared in horror, struggling desperately, but Shiraishi E's arm remained as still as an iron clamp.

“Your memory is terrible,” Shiraishi E sighed. “Do you know why the others didn’t choose Sato Miwako? It’s because she came with me.”

"With memory like that... you deserve to be eliminated."

"boom!"

With a muffled thud, the man's body shuddered violently, and then he collapsed limply to the ground.

Shiraishi E deftly dragged the body into the bushes, took his magazine, and put it in her own pocket.

Meanwhile, Nanatsuki Koshimizu had already infiltrated the villa's perimeter.

Her goal was clear—Tokatsu Junya.

This detective from Hokkaido was the mastermind behind the wrongful conviction three years ago.

She gripped the gun tightly: "Kaoru, I will avenge you!"
