Chapter 623 Revenge (1st Update)
Shinichi Kudo stood before the three corpses, his chest heaving violently.

The gun barrel in his hand was still warm, but his fingertips were trembling with cold.

He slowly squatted down, reached out and closed the unseeing eyes of the first eliminated contestant, his smile inexplicably bitter.

"I killed someone again, though it was in self-defense." He looked down at the bloodstains on his palm and sighed deeply.

Shiraishi E appeared behind him at some point, leaning against a tree trunk, and said, "You're not the first one, you should be used to it by now, right?"

"How could anyone possibly get used to this?" Shinichi looked up, speechless at the other person, and said irritably, "I'm not some kind of pervert!!"

Shiraishi E chuckled and said, "Then you'll have to get used to it... You'll definitely have to do this kind of thing quite a few more times in the future."

He casually tossed something over, and Xin instinctively caught it—it was a magazine.

"At the gathering of the eliminated, Tsuchio Hiroki gave us an ultimatum." Shiraishi E deliberately told them this: "Tell us to kill you all."

"Just as I suspected!" Shinichi changed his magazine and said with a serious expression, "There's also a display case with guns in the villa's lobby, but it won't be open for another half hour!"

He frowned and said, "It seems... Tsuchio Hiroki wants us to kill each other."

"But what was his purpose in doing this?"

Shiraishi E smiled and said, "Of course! He's the director, he's definitely doing this to increase the show's ratings."

"This isn't funny at all!" Shinichi thought the other person was seriously ill; at a time like this, they were still in the mood to joke.

"Not funny at all." Shiraishi E shook her head, thinking that Shinichi was too nervous. Such a small scene had scared him like this.

Just then, a shrill scream suddenly came from the direction of the villa, followed by a flurry of gunfire.

Shinichi shuddered and immediately turned to rush over.

"Hey!" He ran a few steps, then turned back and saw Shiraishi E still walking slowly. He stamped his feet anxiously, "Hurry up! Everyone'll be dead if we're any later!"

Shiraishi pointed to her right leg and said, "I'm injured here, so I can't hurry."

Upon hearing this, Shinichi was immediately overwhelmed with guilt: "I'm sorry. I didn't know."

"It's alright, you can go up first." Shiraishi E waved her hand, indicating that the other party didn't need to wait for her.

"Okay... then I'll head over first!" Xin nodded, no longer saying anything more.

He ran wildly toward the villa, carrying two guns, one his own and the other picked up from a corpse.

Thinking that Heiji might be in danger, he quickened his pace.

Gunshots and sounds of fighting rang out from the windows on the first floor.

Shinichi was about to rush in when he suddenly heard a familiar Kansai dialect coming from the second floor:
"Kudo! Watch out for an ambush!"

Almost instinctively, Shinichi rolled to the side to dodge a bullet fired from the shadows of the porch.

He raised his hand and fired two shots in return, and after hearing a muffled groan, he immediately rushed into the hall.

"Thanks for the reminder, Heiji!" Shinichi looked up and thanked him.

However, at that moment, he discovered that an eliminated contestant was approaching the unsuspecting Heiji from behind.

Shinichi raised his gun and yelled, "Get out of the way!!"

Although Heiji didn't understand why, out of trust in Shinichi, he decisively moved to the side.
boom! !

The eliminated player fired a shot that struck Heiji's shoulder as he dodged, and blood splattered everywhere!
boom! !

Shinichi fired, consciously avoiding vital organs, only hitting the eliminated player in the chest.

After being shot, the eliminated player swayed to the side twice, then, enduring the pain, pointed the gun at Heiji.

Shinichi was shocked, because the other person had walked into his blind spot.

"Heiji!" he shouted anxiously, quickly adjusting his position!

But it's too late!
boom! !

Gunfire rang out.

Shinichi then noticed the eliminated player and excitedly fired his gun repeatedly, seemingly trying to make amends.

Bang bang bang!
All three shots hit the eliminated player squarely in the head, rendering him instantly dead.

"Heiji!! Are you still alive?" Shinichi shouted anxiously, regretting that he had deliberately missed.

If anything were to happen to Heiji, he would never be able to forgive himself for the rest of his life!!
Fortunately, Heiji shouted in a strong voice, "It's okay, I'm fine!"

He gritted his teeth, his shoulder aching, and got up from the ground. Looking at the unrecognizable face of the eliminated soldier, he frowned and said, "Kudo, wasn't that necessary? One shot would have been enough. Why did you fire so many shots? Did he have a grudge against you?"

"I was just worried you'd get shot!" Shinichi said irritably, then quickly went upstairs, frowning as he asked, "Didn't he just fire a shot?" At that moment, Miwako Sato's voice rang out: "I did!"

Shinichi turned his head and saw Miwako Sato on the other side of the second floor.

While keeping an eye on her surroundings, Sato Miwako said, "Kudo-kun, in this special situation, we shouldn't hold back!"

"I...I understand, Officer Sato." Shinichi humbly accepted the lesson, knowing he couldn't be so naive anymore.

It's thanks to Officer Sato's help this time, otherwise... Heiji would be dead by now.

He quickly led Heiji over to meet him and asked, "How's the situation on your end?"

Sato Miwako said briefly, "I'm with Sera-kun and I'm fine, but as for the others, they're probably in grave danger."

Shinichi also said, "I was lucky... I owe it to Shiraishi for his help, otherwise I would have been dead long ago."

"Shiraishi? Where is that guy?" Heiji asked while examining the pistol he had picked up.

“He’s outside, his leg is injured and he can’t move around easily. I came over as soon as I heard the noise,” Shinichi said.

He told Heiji, "You stay with Officer Sato, I'll go pick him up."

No one made any suggestions regarding this proposal.

However, after Shinichi cautiously ran out of the villa with his pistol, he couldn't find any trace of Shiraishi E, which puzzled him: "Where did that kid go?"

........................

On the rocky beach on the east side of the uninhabited island.

Tokizu Junya's leather shoes were nowhere to be found. He walked barefoot on the sharp rocks, leaving mottled bloodstains with every step.

His breathing was heavy, like a broken bellows; his expensive suit was torn to shreds by thorns; his right arm hung limply—a bullet was embedded there, the "greeting" from Nanatsuki Koshimizu ten minutes earlier.

"First question," the girl's clear voice came from the palm grove twenty meters behind, accompanied by the crisp sound of a bullet being chambered: "Do you know about the Lavender House locked-room murder case?"

"boom!"

The bullet grazed precisely past Tokitsu Junya's left ear, sparking as it struck the rocks in front of him.

The brilliant detective from Hokkaido was forced to change direction and stumbled into a thicket of bushes.

"Of course I know!" Tokitsu Junya roared, cold sweat mixed with blood sliding into his eyes.

Nanatsuki Koshimizu appeared like a ghost atop the reef, raising her Beretta 92F again. "The second question—"

"boom!"

This time, the bullet pierced Tokitsu Junya's calf.

He screamed and rolled down the slope, leaving a long trail of blood on the beach.

"Do you really think you solved that case?" Koshimizu Nanatsuki's voice suddenly came close, her boot sole grinding against his injured calf.

"Ah—!" Tokitsu Junya's face contorted into a horrifying shape. "Of course. All the evidence at the scene points to the maid's fingerprints, motive, and the time of the crime."

Koshimizu Nanatsuki slowly crouched down, pressing the gun barrel against Tokitsu Junya's trembling knee: "The third question."

The cold metallic touch made Tokitsu Junya's whole body stiffen.

He suddenly noticed the pursuer's eyes—those almond-shaped eyes that always held a smile, now overlapping with a look of despair from his memory.

"Do you know—" Koshimizu Nanatsuki's finger tightened slowly on the trigger, "that because of your flawed reasoning, that maid named Ogura Kaoru committed suicide by cutting her wrists in the interrogation room?"

The waves behind the reef suddenly became noisy.

Tokizu Junya's breath caught in his throat. He finally realized what was happening, his voice dry and hoarse like sandpaper: "Who is she to you?"

Koshimizu Nanatsuki suddenly turned her gun around and shot him, shattering the dagger hidden in her sleeve: "She's my only friend."

The shrapnel kicked up by the bullet drew fine lines of blood on Tokitsu Junya's face. "And you, this 'genius detective'—"

"boom!"

Another bullet pierced his shoulder blade, and Tokitsu Junya bounced up and down like a fish out of water.

Koshimizu Nanatsuki stepped on his intact left hand, took out a roll of bandage from her tactical pouch, and skillfully bandaged the deepest wound on his leg.

“Don’t worry, I won’t let you die too quickly.” She tightened the tourniquet, and Tokitsu Junya’s scream startled a flock of birds nearby: “After all, Kaoru had been interrogated for twenty-seven hours.”

Upon hearing this, Tokitsu Junya's face turned ashen!
