I'm in Conan, I'm not a gangster
Chapter 713 Gang Members Flee
Chapter 713 Gang Members Flee (2 Updates)
In South Los Angeles, a land divided by gangs, those gangs that have survived to this day all possess the dual characteristics of ruthlessness and cunning.
When the human smuggling gang's stronghold was reduced to a towering fireball in a deafening explosion, members of other gangs within a radius of several miles witnessed this horrifying scene.
At first, these gang members, who were usually arrogant and domineering, thought it was a gas explosion.
It wasn't until the slowly rising mushroom cloud bloomed menacingly in the night sky that they realized this was no accident.
A few daring individuals climbed onto the roof to observe, only to find that the iconic red building of the human smuggling gang had been reduced to a sea of fire, with the scorching heat even causing the air a hundred meters away to distort slightly.
"My God, what's going on?" a burly white man with tattoos all over his arms muttered to himself as the beer bottle in his hand slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground, shards of glass and foam scattering everywhere.
Inside these gang strongholds, shouts and curses echoed from the walkie-talkies.
These ruthless outlaws, who were usually known for their cruelty, were now as frightened and uneasy as startled rabbits.
They were nothing more than street thugs, and their most intense shootouts were nothing more than a few submachine guns firing at each other. They had never seen such a terrifying scene of an entire building being razed to the ground.
"Stay inside, you fuckings! Nobody's allowed to go out!" a black leader wearing a gold chain roared at his men, but he couldn't help but peek out through the gap in the blinds.
They naively thought that this was just some powerful figure venting his anger, and that he would stop after bombing one stronghold.
However, this illusion was shattered completely fifteen minutes later—
Another deafening explosion came from three blocks away, and another gang building crumbled in flames.
The second mushroom cloud slowly rose, forming an eerie symmetry with the first one, which had not yet dissipated, in the night sky.
"He's insane. This guy's completely insane!" A Latino gang member flashed the sign of the cross in terror. "Is he going to blow the whole of South Los Angeles to smithereens?"
Panic spread like a plague among the various gang strongholds.
These thugs, who usually bully the weak and fear the strong, revealed their cowardly nature when faced with a real threat of death.
When the opponent is armed with a rocket launcher or a shoulder-mounted quadruple launcher, their submachine guns and pistols are like toys.
What's even more terrifying is that this mysterious Asian man always seems to be able to deliver a precise strike before they even notice him, and then disappear silently into the night.
"Call the police! Call the police now!" a terrified white gang leader suddenly yelled at his men, "Get the police to deal with this lunatic!"
This absurd proposal surprisingly received a wide response.
Soon, the Los Angeles Police Department's emergency lines were overwhelmed with calls from these gang members who normally hated the police the most.
"Hello? Is this the police? There's a terrorist attack going on here!"
"He blew up the entire neighborhood! Send people over immediately!"
"If they don't come soon, the entire South Los Angeles area will be bombed flat!"
"........."
However, the response from the Los Angeles Police Department and the FBI left them feeling utterly hopeless.
The dispatcher recorded the alarm information in a formulaic tone, promising to "handle it as soon as possible," but no police cars ever came out.
Several senior police officers even shook their heads with wry smiles in the command center:
"Let these gang bastards fight amongst themselves."
"They're all scum anyway, killing one is one less to worry about."
"We'll close the net when they're both exhausted."
"........."
When the gang members realized that law enforcement had no intention of getting involved, a deeper fear gripped them.
Just then, a third mushroom cloud rose into the night sky, its orange glow illuminating the pale faces of every gang member.
"Where did he get so much explosives?" A white gang member pushed up his glasses, his voice trembling. "This firepower is almost like a small army."
In a lavishly decorated underground hideout, the leaders of several major gangs are having an urgent phone call.
Through the encrypted walkie-talkie, their voices trembled uncontrollably.
"We can't wait any longer, this guy is clearly going to plow up South Los Angeles!"
"My men have counted them. At least 150 people from the three outposts are all gone."
"In his eyes, our heads were like chives in the field."
"........."
These gang leaders, who usually fought tooth and nail for territory, suddenly reached a consensus: escape! Flee South Los Angeles immediately!
What followed was utterly absurd: luxury cars drove hastily out of various gang strongholds, their back seats crammed with cash, gold bars, and drugs.
The gang members, who were usually so arrogant and domineering, were like stray dogs, not even bothering to take their mistresses and some of their men with them.
"Stop packing! As long as you're alive, you can earn this back sooner or later!" a gang leader roared at his underlings who were still stuffing money into their suitcases.
At 1 a.m., an unprecedented spectacle unfolded on the streets of South Los Angeles: convoys from various gangs sped out of the city simultaneously.
———————— When Shiraishi E used a rocket launcher to blast open the outer wall of the fourth stronghold, the terrified screams of gang members and the chaotic gunfire could be heard amidst the billowing smoke.
But this time, he didn't even bother to pick up his shotgun and charge in.
"Let's save our energy!" he muttered, then bought a heavy missile that was almost as tall as him from the bandit shop.
This behemoth seemed to be handled with ease by him.
He strode toward the breach that had been blown open and, under the horrified gazes of the gang members, tossed the missile through the window like trash.
The missile struck the ground with a dull thud, followed by a flurry of panicked screams.
"What the hell is that?!"
"Run! It's a missile!"
"My God, where did this madman get his hands on missiles?!"
"........."
Ignoring the shouts and curses behind her, Shiraishi E turned around and sprinted in the opposite direction at top speed.
His figure moved so fast in the night that he was just a blur, his shoes making a rhythmic sound as they stepped over the gravel.
Just as he had rushed about fifty meters away, he pressed the detonator without hesitation.
“BOOM!!!!”
The explosion, more violent than any before, shattered the windows of all nearby buildings.
A massive fireball rose into the air and completely engulfed the entire building.
The powerful shockwave flipped cars parked on the roadside several times, and the scorching heat even set trees a hundred meters away ablaze.
Shiraishi brushed the dust off her shoulders and calmly returned to the car. "Drive."
Conan's hands trembled slightly as he gripped the steering wheel. Looking at the sea of fire through the rearview mirror, he couldn't help but swallow hard.
He'd seen it many times, but he still felt scared watching it again!
Out of fear, Conan started the car.
Shiraishi E leaned out of the car window, looked around, and said, "That's strange, how come no police have come despite all the commotion?"
Conan said speechlessly, "With such a commotion, even if I were a policeman, I wouldn't dare to come."
Upon hearing this, Shiraishi E raised an eyebrow, then burst into a hearty laugh: "That's absolutely right!!"
As their vehicle approached the fifth outpost, the sight before them stunned the two men.
The gate to the gang's stronghold was wide open, swaying gently in the night breeze and making a creaking sound.
Various items were scattered on the cement ground in front of the door: several pistols, several stacks of loose US dollar bills, more than a dozen pieces of gold jewelry, and even a few gold bars that gleamed alluringly in the moonlight.
The entire stronghold was eerily quiet, exuding a deathly stillness reminiscent of a hasty escape.
"Looks like everyone's run away." Shiraishi E raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Conan rolled his eyes in annoyance: "If it were me, I'd run too! With all the explosions and mushroom clouds rising, anyone with a brain would know to flee for their life!"
Shiraishi nodded thoughtfully: "I didn't expect these gangsters to be so smart. I thought they'd ruined their brains from smoking marijuana."
Looking at the empty base, Shiraishi E suddenly felt bored: "Let's go, it's time to go back."
Conan breathed a sigh of relief; he could finally leave this awful place.
He stepped on the gas, and the car drove along the empty street. But after driving less than two blocks, Conan suddenly slammed on the brakes!
"What's wrong?" Shiraishi E was startled by the sudden braking.
Conan pointed to his short legs and gestured to the tall driver's seat, saying irritably, "What's wrong? Look at me! If the patrol officers see a kid who looks like an elementary school student driving, all three of us will have to spend the night at the police station!"
Shiraishi E was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter: "Hahaha! I had completely forgotten about that!"
The two quickly switched places.
Shiraishi E sat in the driver's seat and skillfully adjusted the rearview mirror, while Conan laboriously climbed into the passenger seat, his short legs dangling in the air.
"Hold on tight." Shiraishi stepped on the gas, and the black Chevrolet drew a graceful arc on the empty street, speeding back the way it came.
In the distance behind the vehicle, the embers of the fourth stronghold were still burning, turning the night sky an eerie orange-red.
Conan, sitting in the passenger seat, watched the street scenes rushing past the window and finally let out a long sigh of relief—this crazy night was finally coming to an end.
