Chapter 740 Mary: Change the plan, just charge in!
Chapter 740 Mary: Change the plan, just charge in!
In the dead of night in Nagano Prefecture, all was quiet except for the dim yellow glow of the streetlights casting long, thin shadows of the three people.
Mary glanced at her watch; the hands silently passed the appointed time.
Her sharp gaze swept over Shiraishi E and Sera Masumi, and she said in a low voice, "It's time. Let's go." Her voice was not loud, but it carried an undeniable sense of command.
Like shadows blending into the night, the three of them quietly left the hot spring inn where they were staying.
Mary gestured for Sera Masumi to lead the way, and specifically instructed her: "Find a secluded place, one with few people, and most importantly, make sure there are no surveillance cameras."
Although Sera Masumi did not fully understand her mother's specific plans, she had an instinctive obedience to instructions.
Thanks to her previous activities in the area, she is already familiar with the surrounding environment.
She nodded, asked no further questions, and took the initiative to walk ahead.
She skillfully navigated the intricate alleyways, avoiding the lights of the main streets and choosing instead the dimly lit, deserted paths.
After walking for about ten minutes, she led the two of them into a narrow back street.
The area is flanked by the backs of old buildings, piled with miscellaneous items. The streetlights are sparse, the light is dim, and the place appears particularly desolate.
"Mom, we're here, this is it." Sera Masumi stopped and looked around to confirm.
Mary did not respond immediately. Instead, like the most cautious hunter, she carefully observed the surroundings again, her gaze sweeping over every possible corner and window, confirming the seclusion of the place.
Then she simply said, "Alright, everyone put them on!"
As she spoke, she took the lead and deftly took out several items from her bag—a few ordinary baseball caps, disposable masks, and thin gloves.
She skillfully wrapped herself up, pulling her hat down to cover her forehead and part of her eyes, covering her mouth and nose completely with a mask, and eliminating the risk of fingerprints with gloves.
In an instant, her face and features were concealed to the greatest extent possible.
Seeing this, Shiraishi E and Sera Masumi immediately followed suit and quickly completed their disguises.
The three stood there, like three ghosts with unknown intentions, perfectly blending into the night.
With everything ready, Mary's eyes scanned the street like a searchlight, quickly locking onto an ordinary family car parked in the shade.
She walked over with steady steps, without the slightest hesitation.
She approached the driver's side door, took out a small tool from her pocket, and made a few slight movements at the keyhole. With a barely audible "click," the door lock was easily unlocked.
She opened the car door and stepped aside.
The entire process was smooth and swift, with a chilling level of professionalism.
Almost at the same time Mary succeeded, Sera Masumi had already tacitly circled around to the other side and quickly opened the passenger door. But her goal was clear—she didn't want to sit in the passenger seat. Instead, she leaned in, fiddled with it briefly using some method, and the engine started with a low roar.
Watching the mother and daughter work together seamlessly, one handling the entry problem and the other the power problem, their movements were clean and efficient, clearly showing their rich experience or... "family tradition".
Standing to the side, Shiraishi E couldn't help but click her tongue in admiration, exclaiming, "This is truly a case of mother and daughter working together, their strength can break gold! Their skills are quite impressive!"
"What are you muttering about?" Mary keenly noticed the subtle change in Shiraishi E's expression and snapped irritably, "Get in the car! Don't waste time!"
Once Shiraishi E was exposed, she immediately composed herself, readily opened the back door of the car, and nimbly climbed inside.
Sera Masumi had already gotten into the driver's seat and was gripping the steering wheel with both hands.
She didn't waste any words, or even ask about the destination; she clearly already understood.
After Mary got into the passenger seat and closed the door, she stepped on the gas, and the "borrowed" car smoothly and quickly drove away from the dimly lit back street, silently blending into the traffic of Nagano Prefecture in the dead of night, heading straight for the Nagano Prefecture Detention Center.
----------
The night was as dark as ink, heavily enveloping the Nagano Prefecture Detention Center.
Sera Masumi silently parked the stolen car in the shadows a block away from the target building, and the engine shut off, plunging the surroundings into a deathly silence.
Looking out the car window at the cold and imposing building under the searchlights, her brow furrowed, her voice filled with urgency and worry: "Mom, Sister Qizaki is locked inside! Do you really have a way to get her out?" Mary didn't answer immediately. She suppressed the itch in her throat, coughed softly twice, and then took out a neatly folded blueprint from her handbag.
In the dim light inside the car, she unfolded the drawing, which was clearly a simplified layout of the detention center. "Of course..."
Her voice was slightly hoarse from coughing, but her tone was resolute: "I've got the internal structure."
Her slender fingers pointed precisely to a spot on the blueprint, tracing a winding dotted line: "Look here, there's an abandoned ventilation duct entrance on the side. The maintenance opening is rusty, and the guards are lax. We'll climb in from here."
Her fingertips moved along the dotted lines, bypassing the locations marked with guard posts and monitored areas. "Following this route stealthily, avoiding the main passages, I should be able to reach the temporary detention area."
Sera Masumi listened intently, her head close to the blueprint, her eyes following her mother's finger movements. She nodded repeatedly, "I understand, Mom! This route is indeed well hidden!"
However, she soon noticed that Shiraishi E leaned absentmindedly against the car door, her gaze wandering in the night outside, seemingly uninterested in this meticulously planned scheme.
She couldn't help but call out, "Hey, Shiraishi-kun! What are you doing? This is such an important plan, come over and listen in!"
Upon hearing this, Shiraishi E lazily turned her head away.
sneak into?
He scoffed inwardly. This sneaky, step-by-step style had never suited his taste; it was too stifling and unlikely to be efficient.
He prefers a more direct and impactful approach—swaggering around and intimidating others with his power!
His gaze "inadvertently" swept under the back seat, where an inconspicuous, heavy black tote bag "caught" his attention.
He let out a soft "Eh," a playful smile playing on his lips, and deliberately raised his voice: "I'm saying... it seems like we've won the lottery this time."
Mary and Sera Masumi both looked at him with confusion, not understanding the meaning behind his seemingly random words.
Without offering any further explanation, Shiraishi E leaned forward and, with some effort, pulled the heavy tote bag out of the back seat, tossing it onto the empty space between the two of them with a dull thud.
"Look, what an unexpected treasure this is?"
Sera Masumi, overcome with curiosity, reached out and unzipped the zipper.
When she saw what was inside, she gasped and her pupils contracted sharply—in the handbag lay several Uzi submachine guns, several pistols of different models, a large number of magazines loaded with bullets, and even a few dark green, icy-cold grenades!
"How...how can there be so many weapons here?!" Sera Masumi's voice was filled with shock.
Shiraishi brushed the dust off her hands, her tone tinged with schadenfreude: "Judging by this setup, it's probably some unlucky guy who was planning a big heist, and we just happened to requisition it. This is going to be really funny."
Mary's gaze swept over the weapons that exuded a dangerous aura, and the slight frown that had been on her face due to the plan to infiltrate the area relaxed.
She reached out and skillfully grabbed a Glock pistol from among them, inspecting the chamber with fluid and professional movements, a cold, almost cruel smile appearing on her face: "Heh...it seems we're indeed quite lucky."
She put down the Glock, then grabbed a heavy grenade, weighed it in her hand, and a sharp, resolute glint flashed in her eyes: "Since fate has decreed this, the plan is to change!"
Her voice was resolute and carried undeniable power: "No need to go through any more ventilation ducts, that's too much trouble! Suppress the enemy with firepower, charge in! A quick victory!"
Shiraishi E immediately raised both hands, her face showing undisguised agreement and excitement: "I agree! I love this straightforward style!"
Sera Masumi was startled and quickly tried to dissuade her, "Mom! Wait a minute! Isn't this too... too reckless?! This is a detention center after all!"
Mary rolled her eyes at her daughter, who was becoming somewhat hesitant at this crucial moment, and said with the arrogance and confidence typical of a secret agent: "Reckless? How strong can the security be in a county-level detention center? With these..."
She gestured with her chin towards the bag of weapons. "Why bother with complicated plans? Just storm in, take them away, and that's the most efficient way!"
She clearly had absolute confidence in her combat abilities and the advantage that came with the hard currency she possessed.
Sera Masumi looked at her mother's unyielding expression, then at the bag of weapons that could stir up a small storm, opened her mouth, and finally all her words of dissuasion turned into a helpless bitter smile.
She resignedly thought: Well, she's my mom, and a former MI6 agent with extensive experience and terrifying skills. There's nothing I can do with my limited abilities... What else can I do but keep up?
“Okay… I’ll listen to you.” She took a deep breath, reached into the bag and picked up a pistol, examined it, and her eyes gradually hardened.
