Chapter 68: Taking a detour can sometimes be a shortcut

Chapter 68: Taking a detour can sometimes be a shortcut
Three-dimensional theory.

The dimension here does not refer to the three-dimensionality in physics where a direction vector is added to the two-dimensional plane system.

Rather, it refers to the self dimension, the medium dimension, and the external dimension.

In Roger's theory, "self" is the ego dimension, what "self" can influence is the medium dimension, and what "self" cannot influence is the external dimension.

To put it figuratively.

Roger's will can control his body, and his body is Roger's medium dimension. His body can make sounds, and sounds are also Roger's medium dimension. Sounds can affect another person's actions, and the other person is also Roger's medium dimension.

Even if Roger can influence stock prices, the rise and fall of the stock market is also Roger's medium dimension.

And Roger cannot affect the phenomenon of 'the sun shines'. The shining sun is the external dimension.

All interference-able existences are in the medium dimension, but the intensity and fineness of the interference vary.

Although both are interference, the difficulty of drawing a bow is completely different from the difficulty of making an arrow hit a target a hundred meters away.

Because you can control the trajectory of the arrow, but you can't control it accurately.

The medium dimension also has height.

Using the medium dimension to nourish and strengthen the self-dimension, constantly obtaining new medium dimensions, transforming low-level medium into high-level medium, and using the medium dimension to erode the external dimension, this is what Roger wants to do.

"...This is so weird." Halfway through, Dumbledore didn't understand why Roger took such a detour.

Dumbledore looked at Roger with a confused look on his face: "What's the point of doing this?"

"You don't need to do this... dimension at all. Can't you just use magic to strengthen your body, use magic to control everything, and finally improve the precision of control?"

Hearing Dumbledore say this, Roger couldn't help but sigh.

He knew it.

My stuff is a little abstract, and many people will find it difficult to understand at first glance.

"This has to start with a phenomenon I discovered before." In fact, this paragraph is written in the last part of the book, how life evolved, but since Dumbledore asked here, Roger began to explain.

Then Roger told Dumbledore about the green-skinned mushroom beast he had created from Hagrid, and how it had noticed that a large number of human thoughts coming together could have an impact on magic.

After developing the radiation spell, he has fully verified this.

Roger tentatively named this phenomenon Alaya magic.

Later, when he embarked on the path of magic, while thinking about how he could become a "change", he accidentally thought of the existence of Alaya magic.

“If we use the terms ‘self’, ‘medium’, and ‘external world’ to re-understand everything.”

"You will find that every progress of human civilization and wizard civilization is caused by the change of medium."

"Humans have a new medium for interference, 'fire', and wizards have a medium, 'magic'."

“Through the medium of language and writing, thoughts can transcend time, allowing humans to accumulate every progress they make.”

"As people's thoughts on the world accumulate, their understanding of the world becomes clearer and clearer, and they can interfere with more and more things, while the external dimension is shrinking."

After he finished speaking, Roger looked up at the hotel window, at the gorgeous streets and the gorgeous Muggle technological civilization: "Until people learned to use 'medium' to fill the shortcomings of 'self'."

"Microscopes have replaced the narrow field of vision of the naked eye, mathematics has replaced the fuzzy cognitive logic, and computers have replaced the brain that cannot evolve for the time being." "Lightning, an external dimension that was originally uncontrollable, has become a high-level medium dimension that can be manipulated at will."

Roger looked away and continued to say to Dumbledore, "The reason why wizard civilization has made little progress is because our 'medium' has never developed. For thousands of years we have been struggling with magic with little success."

"Magic is our foundation, just like boiling water, throwing stones, and telling stories are the foundations of Muggles."

"Muggles have advanced to the second stage, and it is time for us to advance as well. We also need 'electricity', 'microscopes' and 'computers'."

"We need a more stable energy than the overly idealistic magic that can be freely controlled by our will. We need eyes that can see the world more clearly. We need computers that can evolve our thinking to a higher level."

At this point, Roger paused and said, "Magic is a miracle of the mind, just like expunging weapons. What you expunge is something that you sincerely believe is a weapon that can hurt you. It is a conceptual spell."

If a person uses a sniper weapon on a strong and unarmed criminal, it may cause serious harm.

"If the theory of three dimensions is embedded in people's cognitive system, perhaps we can develop magic to cast spells on the concept of 'dimension'!"

Roger raised his hand and showed it to Dumbledore: "Principal Dumbledore, look."

Dumbledore looked over and saw Roger rubbing his fingertips, with tiny arcs of electricity flashing between them from time to time.

"You should have sensed it. I didn't use any magic."

"After completely reconstructing the nervous system, I have gained some ability to influence the nerves with consciousness and manipulate bioelectricity to a certain extent. This current is very small, but it is indeed under my control." This is not a simple storage and discharge of electricity like the electric eel. Roger can manipulate it very finely.

"It doesn't seem to make any sense. Any spell cast by a small wizard is more powerful than it. Other aspects are completely incomparable to the magic of magic."

"But it means there's a possibility that we can directly interfere more, just like we use our vocal cords to release mechanical waves and use our lungs to manipulate airflow to a certain extent. Interfere with some power that can affect everything, like magic."

"In addition to magic power, we can actually directly manipulate other energies with our will."

"If we can cast spells directly on the 'dimension', we may be able to skip the 'process' and directly turn those 'mediums' that we originally could not control into our new 'limbs'."

"Continue to acquire new media, and use magic to transform these media into high-level media that can move as desired. After that..."

If this step can really be achieved, then Roger can start preparing for the next step.

That is... dimensionality reduction.

When everything can be interfered with by Roger, the only dimensions left are the self-dimension and the medium dimension. I am involved in all the movements and changes.

I am change itself.

If we could subtract one more dimension, then everything would be me and I would be everything!
Dumbledore rubbed his brows heavily, organized his thoughts, and roughly understood the purpose of Roger's going through so much trouble.

"So, if I understand correctly, you want to construct a new kind of magic by changing the way sentient beings perceive the world, and then use this magic..."

"Create a 'second magic' that can be controlled by wizards, and let the first magic feed the second magic."

"Finally, we can use the 'second magic' that can be accumulated and understood by us to break the upper limit of the wizard's power and life form. After the wizard evolves, his mental power will become stronger, and conversely, his 'first magic' will also become stronger."

This method is somewhat similar to the Muggle science fiction, where AI is invented, AI deduce the genetic map, and then genetically modified humans are created. Genetically modified Muggles have higher intelligence, and the intelligent modified Muggles invent stronger AI, and the cycle repeats...

...Will this thing work?

Dumbledore was a little unsure for a moment.
