Chapter 101 is now available for pre-order.

It will be on the shelves early this morning. I have mixed feelings, so I'd like to speak a few words to you all and let it all hang out.

First of all, the original intention of writing this book has been mentioned in part in a single chapter before. It is because the history of the Southern and Northern Dynasties is too magical, so it is simply expressed in a fantasy way.

Another reason is that I have been writing historical articles for more than ten years and I am too skilled at it. I feel like I am doing a very stable job. This is good for supporting my family, but I have also seen people's criticisms, such as clichés and repetition. This always makes me feel inexplicably anxious. I feel that if I continue to be leisurely in my comfort zone, I may lose my passion for writing and everyone's love for me.

For someone who writes for a living, it would be a slow death.

I love writing, and I don't want to regret it when it's too late. So I reflected for a long time and talked a lot with my colleagues. I found that everyone has a common feeling, that is, when writing male-oriented historical articles in the middle and late stages, they always go the same way, so the so-called similarity and repetition naturally arise from this.

This will make readers lose interest in reading and writers lose their passion for creation.

So we all decided to try to innovate and change and explore a new direction.

Then there was this book "Records of Mysterious Things in the Southern Dynasties". As I said before, I put unprecedented effort into this book. I prepared for it for several months and revised it several times to build a complete world view, story outline and main character settings.

This book brought back the passion I had when I first started writing more than a decade ago. It gave me a lot of inspiration, made up for many of my previous shortcomings, and gave me a lot of new experiences and lessons that I can apply to the next time and the next time. I am sure that even if I write history again, I can present a brand new story to everyone. From this point of view, this attempt should be considered a success.

But trying things always involves risks, and some new readers are not used to it, and some old readers are not happy, so I ended up being stuck in both ends. The early subscription results are estimated to be... well, definitely not as good as when I write pure historical articles (crying).

This is of course my problem. I am used to writing historical texts, and I am used to a well-balanced structure and a steady pace. To the readers of Xianxia, this may be a slow pace and not crisp enough. In fact, this is really a crisp and explosive story, but I have been writing historical texts for too long and I am used to slowly increasing the intensity, so it is inevitable that I am a little uncomfortable at the beginning.

But starting from the second half of the first volume, the intensity and rhythm have increased, so I guess I've gotten used to it...

Furthermore, the monk is a fellow villager of Pu Songling and has loved Liaozhai since childhood, so in the early stage of writing, he added a lot of strange elements. But apparently it didn't get much recognition (covering face). In fact, the monk himself re-read the first volume and felt that he still liked it very much. There is a very rich and complete story, and the characterization is also very colorful. But I think it's because I have been writing historical articles for too long, and I always have to pay the tuition.

But it doesn't matter. If you try, how can there be only success and no failure? Since I said at the beginning that no matter the result, you have to be brave once, then when the result is not satisfactory, isn't it the time to verify your determination? So you should be braver!

So I am going to release my youthful enthusiasm and continue to update for a while. I believe that the results will improve. Because this is really a good book!
And my main storyline has not been laid out yet, a lot of characters have not made their debut, and there are still a lot of plots and suspense, and brain holes that have not been shown to everyone. Who dares to say whether it will gradually catch up?
Even if it still isn’t loved by many people in the end, it doesn’t matter, because there are still people like you who love and support this book, and that’s enough.

As I write this, I suddenly feel a little sad. This poor child is clearly the fruit of my most laborious efforts. Alas, so I still want to beg all friends who like this book to subscribe and support it as much as possible, so that this book and the monk will not seem so pitiful...

Please have pity on us two, we are going to celebrate the New Year...

In exchange for your request, I can promise three things:

1. Explosive and frequent updates.

Second, the article is concise without any watering down.

Third, don’t let the story have a bad ending. Let it have a good beginning and a good end, so as to be worthy of everyone’s support and worthy of yourself.

The above are the three commandments that I will always love you for.
