Jiang Yang, who originally didn't want to get involved in the matter, agreed to it under the instigation of his girlfriend, who was also a prosecutor. Then he began a years-long, bumpy and arduous journey to track down the murderer. The third timeline is 2010, which is also the opening time of the whole story. The police received a report that someone threatened with a bomb at the subway station. The arrested suspect first confessed his guilt, then openly changed his confession during the court trial and produced a strong alibi. Criminal police captain Yan Liang was ordered to investigate the case, and then slowly uncovered a decade-long injustice in which many people exchanged honor, youth and even life for each other.

Because the timeline is relatively long, many modern scenes cannot appear. The crew transformed part of the street scene of this suburban town into the "Pingkang County" 20 years ago by combining reality and scenery.

Chongqing is indeed a mountain city, with almost no flat roads. Meng Bai climbed up the steep slope to the middle of the mountain, and finally saw the busy crew.
