Chapter 338 Fantastic Four: Hulk Appears

Baxter Building, top-floor laboratory.

Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards stared at the flashing warning lights on the Quantum Storm simulator, his rubber arm rapidly adjusting parameters on the control panel.

"Susan, try again!"

The Invisible Woman stood in the center of the laboratory, arms outstretched, a semi-transparent energy shield spreading like ripples, enveloping the runaway plasma.

"Jonathan, divert the particle stream!"

Jonathan Stone grinned, flames igniting at his fingertips as he lashed out a fiery whip, precisely directing the raging stream of particles toward the vent.

"Ben! Valve!"

The Stone Man, Ben Graeme, grumbled as he picked up a block of concrete and used it to suppress the gushing foam like a sandbag.

"boom!"

The laboratory returned to silence.

"The fifty-seventh failure." Reed sighed, his rubber body collapsing to the ground.

Susan withdrew the force field and wiped the sweat from her forehead: "Perhaps we should try a different approach."

"For example?" Reed looked up.

"For example... Doctor Doom's theories?"

"Impossible!" Reed jumped up. "That guy is a madman!"

Before he could finish speaking, the laboratory door suddenly slid open.

Everyone turned to look.

Nick Fury stood in the doorway, his black trench coat appearing particularly somber under the blue light of the laboratory.

"Sorry to bother you," he said casually.

Jonathan raised an eyebrow: "Nick Fury? The head of S.H.I.E.L.D."

The stone figure silently moved to the doorway, its granite body blocking the exit.

Fury glanced at the experimental debris scattered on the ground, a slight smile playing on his lips: "It seems your quantum storm simulator is still not very stable."

Reed narrowed his eyes: "How did you know we were researching this?"

Fury didn't answer, but simply took a document from the inside pocket of his trench coat and threw it on the table.

"In September of a certain year, NASA recorded abnormal gravitational fluctuations at the Baxter Building."

Reed's expression froze instantly.

“In December of the same year, the space station observed an unidentified energy beam penetrating the atmosphere,” Fury continued. “Should I continue reading S.H.I.E.L.D.’s observation report?”

Susan frowned: "What do you want to do?"

Fury walked to the control panel, swiped his fingers for a while, and after some manipulation on the holographic projection, the scene changed, and the image of Stephen Fang tearing apart the Chitauri mothership unfolded in the air.

"I need a contingency plan, a contingency plan for what happens if this guy gets out of control."

Since Nick Fury made up his mind to take down Stephen Fang, he has begun a hero-recruiting plan.

Stephen Fang himself would probably laugh if he knew.
Even Thanos in the cinematic universe didn't receive this treatment; Thanos in the movies didn't even encounter the Fantastic Four.

Jonathan whistled, "Wow, this guy's even more powerful than Doctor Doom."

“Joe!” Susan glared at him.

Reed stared at the energy readings in the image, his brow furrowed: "This is simply not human."

“That’s why I need the Fantastic Four.” Fury tapped the documents. “This is the mortgage contract for Baxter Tower, and… the original full investigation report on your space accident.”

The stone man pounded his fist, cracking the doorframe: "Are you threatening us?"

“It’s a deal,” Nick Fury said calmly. “S.H.I.E.L.D. can provide state-of-the-art laboratories, and…” He looked at Susan, “the most complete sample of Kree technology this century.”

Jonathan's fingertips ignited with flame: "What if we refuse?" Fury didn't speak, but simply raised his hand and pressed his wristwatch.

“New Yorkers must be very curious,” Fury said casually, “about the dangerous experiments being conducted every day in the laboratories above their heads.”

Susan took a deep breath: "We'll join in."

Reed turned his head sharply: "Susan!"

“But there are three conditions.” Susan looked directly at Fury. “First, all S.H.I.E.L.D. data about our abilities must be destroyed.”

"Secondly, I need the Kree samples you mentioned."

"Third, if it is really dangerous, we have the right to demand evacuation."

Nick Fury smiled slightly: "Deal."

Manhattan General Hospital, New York.

Jennifer Susan Walters lay in her hospital bed, her pale face appearing even more frail against the backdrop of the IV tubing.

Several bruises remained on her arm, marks left by the horrific attack the previous night.

"Ms. Walters, your blood test results are in." The doctor entered, holding several lab reports, his brow furrowed. "Your blood type... seems to have changed in some way."

Jennifer frowned, struggling to sit up: "What do you mean?"

The doctor hesitated for a moment, seemingly choosing his words carefully: "An abnormal gamma radiation response was detected in your blood, and," he paused, "your hemoglobin level is far above normal, even higher than that of professional athletes."

Jennifer was stunned.

She certainly knew what gamma radiation meant. Her cousin Bruce Banner, the "Hulk" who was once hunted by the military in the news, was turned into that state because of gamma radiation experiments.

"Wait a minute." She suddenly remembered something, "Who gave me the blood transfusion while I was unconscious?"

The doctor nodded awkwardly: "Yes. Because of your 'Rh-negative blood type,' and the situation is so urgent, we've brought in your cousin, Dr. Bruce Banner, the New York hero."

Jennifer's pupils suddenly contracted.

Just then, the door to the ward was suddenly pushed open!

Three masked thugs rushed in, holding silenced pistols, their muzzles pointed directly at Jennifer!

"Jennifer Walters, the lawyer?" the leader sneered. "Someone's offering a hefty price to kill you."

Jennifer's heart pounded, but the next second, an unprecedented rage erupted from within her!

"You... are looking for death!"

Her skin instantly turned green, her muscles swelled at a visible speed, and her hospital gown ripped with a "rip"!

"What?!" Before the thugs could even pull the trigger, they were slapped away by a giant green hand!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The three thugs slammed into the wall like rag dolls and immediately lost consciousness.

Jennifer, panting heavily, looked down at her green hands, speechless with shock.

"I've turned into the Hulk?"

At this moment, the door of the ward was pushed open again.

"Don't move!" Jennifer turned around abruptly, her fist already raised, ready to strike at any moment!
“Wait! I’m a good guy!” Nick Fury stood in the doorway, his one eye slightly narrowed, his black trench coat looking particularly gloomy under the corridor lights.

Jennifer's fist froze in mid-air as she stared at him warily: "Who are you?"

“Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Fury walked in calmly, glancing at the unconscious thug on the ground. “It seems you’ve adapted to your new abilities.”

Jennifer's green skin gradually faded, returning to her normal skin tone, but her eyes remained wary: "What do you want?"

Nick Fury pulled a document from his trench coat pocket and handed it to her: "We need your help."
