Chapter 526 Stephen Fang: Without superheroes, there's less to do.

After listening to the Grey Knight's confession, Stephen's expression gradually changed from shock to speechlessness, and finally settled on a look of disgust that seemed to say, "Are you guys out of your minds?"

He released his grip on the Grey Knight's neck, letting the man slump to the ground like a rag doll, then turned and gave the middle finger to Wolverine Logan, who was peering out from the ruins:
"So, those geniuses from the X-Men and Fantastic Four secretly built a time machine to get rid of me? But instead of sending me away, they brought the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse with them?"

He kicked the wreckage of the Grey Knight, "And it's the deluxe, tainted version?!"

Logan scratched his head awkwardly, his healing factor working to repair his half-severed ear. "Uh, Charles probably underestimated the seriousness of the term 'butterfly effect'."

"The butterfly effect?!" Stephen grabbed Logan by the collar, pointing to the smoking Manhattan behind them. "This is called a butterfly flapping its wings?! This is a butterfly carrying a nuclear bomb and dancing a rave across time!"

He released Logan, so angry he spun around on the spot: "I knew my eyelids had been twitching lately! Turns out it was you bunch of 'brilliant' idiots who were pulling my leg behind my back!"

He suddenly stopped, squinting at the Grey Knight. "Wait... the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse... has Apocalypse arrived yet?"

The Grey Knight coughed up a mouthful of pus and blood, mechanically replying, "No, but soon."

The scene fell into an eerie silence.

"Ha!" Stephen Fang suddenly clapped and laughed. "As expected of superheroes. I was just thinking, if there were no superheroes in the world, maybe there would be no villains either."

Wolverine was speechless after being confronted. He wanted to refute but had no point in doing so. After all, if Stephen Fang hadn't come, he would have been tortured to death by the Grey Knight.

Iron Man's secret base is located 1,000 meters underground in New Mexico. It is surrounded by five-meter-thick vibranium armor plates and equipped with water and electricity, making it a dream place for post-apocalyptic hoarding enthusiasts.

Stephen dragged the mangled body of the Grey Knight through three airtight doors, with Wolverine Logan staggering behind him.

"Jarvis, activate the Hulkbuster." Tony tapped the reactor on his chest, and six automated weapons, each three meters tall, descended from the ceiling, their crimson scanning beams locking onto the Grey Knight.

The Grey Knight was thrown into a transparent cube, and nanoscale vibranium chains instantly wrapped around its limbs.

An eerie blue light shone from inside the cube, and the gray knight suddenly let out a non-human howl, with pus seeping from the gaps in his armor.

Tony snapped his fingers smugly. "Designed specifically for creatures with extremely high regenerative abilities." As he said this, he glanced at Wolverine, seemingly unintentionally.

Stephen leaned closer to observe; the Grey Knight's crest was withering at a visible rate. "It won't last much longer; we need to ask quickly." He turned to Wolverine, "Are you sure you're the only one left alive?"

Logan nodded. "When I pushed Charles out, I saw Susan's force field protecting several people." He made a low gurgling sound in his throat. "But Jyn... she chose to self-destruct to stop the Four Horsemen."

The laboratory suddenly became eerily quiet.

Tony's fingertips hovered over the holographic keyboard for a moment before he asked, "What are the Four Horsemen?"

"The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse consist of four superheroes," Stephen explained. "They're not easy to deal with, especially their boss, Apocalypse."

The Grey Knight suddenly raised his head, a savage grin spreading across his rotting lips: "You have no idea what you're fighting against."

Stephen Fang looked at him coldly and said, "Then say something that will make us understand, otherwise I can drag you out of here and beat you up a few more times."

Having witnessed Stephen Fang's cruel methods of torture, the Grey Knight could sense that this man definitely had a 10,000-point venting index waiting to be released on a punching bag.

The Grey Knight thought for a moment, then simply revealed everything: "The Four Horsemen have gathered, and they will summon the Apocalypse."

Iron Man's eyes lit up. "So that means as long as we keep this guy here, that Apocalypse won't appear?" Stephen Fang squinted at the Grey Knight, feeling that something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Iron Man thumped his chest. "If we stop the Four Horsemen from assembling, Apocalypse will fall without a fight. Stephen, you go and find the rest of the Horsemen. Wolverine and I will stay here and watch this guy disintegrate."

Stephen Fang nodded and slapped the Flying Thunder God mark on the ground. "Alright then, just call me if anything happens."

Having said that, he vanished.

In the hospital corridor, the smell of disinfectant mixed with the glaring fluorescent lights, and the cold air seemed to freeze.

The camera slowly zooms in, finally stopping in front of a single hospital room.

Through the glass window, you can see a gaunt man lying on the hospital bed—he has a face that is strikingly similar to Professor X, Charles Xavier, but is paler and more fragile.

Various instruments were connected to his body, emitting regular "beep" sounds, as if announcing his long-term vegetative state.

Suddenly, the man's fingers twitched slightly.

Immediately afterwards, his chest heaved violently, like a drowning person finally surfacing, and he suddenly opened his eyes!
His pupils contracted sharply, he gasped for breath, and a dry, hoarse sound came from his throat.

“Logan?” he uttered the name with difficulty, his voice so hoarse it was almost inaudible.

However, before he could fully regain his senses, a scarlet light suddenly shot out from the shadows of the ward and precisely locked onto his forehead!
The man turned his head stiffly and saw a figure clad in purple armor slowly emerge in the corner of the ward!

That was the Black Knight of the Apocalypse, Wanda Maximoff, corrupted by chaos magic!
Her eyes gleamed with an ominous red light, and a cold smile played on her lips.

“Professor, I knew all along you would take over your brother’s body.” Wanda’s voice was low and twisted, like an echo from the abyss. “Now, with the help of this brain-computer interface, tell me…” She raised her hand, and the energy of chaos magic condensed at her fingertips. “The whereabouts of the Grey Knight.”

Professor X's face turned even paler in an instant. His lips trembled as if he wanted to struggle, but his body was unable to move.

His consciousness was firmly locked in by chaos magic, and his memories were exposed to Wanda page by page, like pages torn from a book.

“I…I’m not Charles,” he managed to squeeze out, but Wanda just gave a cold laugh.

“A lie.” Her voice was icy cold. “You think you can fool me? Professor, your tricks end here.”

The crimson energy further invaded his brain, and the man's expression contorted with pain.

Countless fragmented images flashed before his eyes—the ruins of Xavier's School, the roar of the Grey Knight, and Jean Grey's final cry!

"Tell me!" The Black Knight's voice suddenly rose, the glass windows of the ward trembling under her force. "Where is the Gray Knight!?"

Professor X let out a desperate whimper; his consciousness was being completely torn apart!

A few seconds later, Professor X's eyes glazed over, and the machine above his head began to run wildly.

A cold glint flashed in the Black Knight's eyes: "Found it!"
