Chapter 617 This world is on the verge of collapse, the only savior
"What did he say he wanted to learn?"
He wants to learn how to avoid danger.
"Are you crazy?"
The members of the Red-Haired Pirates reacted differently upon hearing this.
Yasopp's eyes widened, and he almost dropped the gun: "Hey, is this guy serious?" He subconsciously touched his head, thinking he'd lost his mind.
Raki Lou retorted, "The boss was just forced to retire by you, and now he wants to follow God's lead? What a shameless thing to do." He muttered under his breath, but was stopped by a look from Beckman.
Ben Beckman took a deep drag on his cigar, and the greyish-white smoke rings slowly dissipated in the air.
His sharp gaze scrutinized Fang Yu, as if trying to see through the young man's true intentions.
After a moment, he turned his head slightly and whispered to Shanks, "This kid is not simple."
Red-Haired Shanks gave a helpless smile: "You just forced us to withdraw from the sea, and now you want us to learn my signature sword technique?"
He shook his head. "I heard your plan all the way from the East China Sea."
Fang Yu did not offer any explanation, but simply gazed calmly into the distance.
The sea breeze ruffled his black hair, revealing his determined eyes.
“This isn’t something I want to learn,” he said softly, “it’s for the people.”
Everyone was stunned.
Fang Yu's gaze seemed to pierce through the sea level, pointing directly at Mary Geoise atop the Red Earth Continent.
"I will attack Mary Geoise."
His voice wasn't loud, but it made everyone hold their breath: "I will make that guy sitting on the Void Throne fall from his pedestal!"
These words struck like a heavy hammer blow to everyone's heart.
The crew members of the Red-Haired Pirates looked at each other, and the tense hostility between them eased at that moment.
They suddenly realized that the young man before them was not fighting for power alone.
Yasopp's grip on the gun loosened slightly, and he murmured, "I see."
Beckman exhaled a puff of smoke, his wariness gradually turning into complexity.
He looked at Shanks and nodded slightly.
The redhead was silent for a moment, then suddenly burst into laughter.
"Hahahaha!" The sea breeze tossed Shanks's crimson hair. "What a fine 'for the people'!"
He strode forward, patted Fang Yu on the shoulder with his one arm, and a hint of admiration flashed in his eyes.
"Alright, since you insist on learning," he grinned, revealing his signature hearty smile, "I can teach you."
Fang Yu also laughed.
The sea breeze blew by, dispersing the smoke of battle and hostility.
At that moment, the members of the Red-Haired Pirates suddenly felt that this enemy, whom they had once hated so much, possessed a convincing charm.
Perhaps, a new era has truly arrived.
Sunlight streamed onto the simple wooden raft. Luffy sat cross-legged at the bow, his straw hat pulled low, clutching a crumpled bounty poster in his hand.
"Hey! Luffy! Did you see the news?!" Usopp rushed over in a panic, almost capsizing the small raft. "That Fifth Emperor defeated all four Emperors! He even said he'd end the Great Pirate Era! No one's allowed to be a pirate anymore!"
"Huh?" Luffy looked up, his rubber face scrunched up. "Not allowed to be a pirate? Then what am I supposed to be?"
Zoro leaned against a broken wooden stick and snorted coldly, "Hmph, who cares about the Fifth Emperor? Do you think he can tell us anything?"
Usopp waved his hands frantically: "Wait, wait, wait! Zoro! That's a guy who couldn't even beat Whitebeard and Shanks! The three of us don't even have a decent ship, how are we supposed to fight him?!"
Luffy suddenly grinned: "Hehehe! Then I'll quit being a pirate!"
"Huh?!" Zoro and Usopp exclaimed in unison, their eyes widening in surprise.
Luffy stood up, put his hands on his hips, and shouted, "I'm going to be—the Mountain Bandit King!"
"..." After a three-second silence, Usopp burst into tears: "What the hell is 'Mountain Bandit King'?! Aren't mountain bandits even less promising than pirates?!"
Zoro facepalmed: "Idiot, mountain bandits and sea pirates are the same thing, one is in the water and the other is on the road."
Luffy laughed nonchalantly, "A mountain bandit king is a bandit who specializes in robbing other mountain bandits! He's even more powerful than a pirate! Then I'll become the mountain bandit king!"
Usopp collapsed, clutching his head in despair: "This logic doesn't make any sense at all! And we don't even have a mountain!"
------
Piccolo stood atop the ruins of the city's tallest building, his green skin gleaming eerily in the setting sun.
He spread his arms, threw his head back and laughed loudly, his voice as harsh and unpleasant as the friction of metal.
"Humans! This is the consequence of your rebellion against the gods!"
The city beneath his feet was already engulfed in flames.
Demon warriors slaughtered indiscriminately in the streets, and the screams of humans echoed everywhere.
Bick gently raised his hand, and a purple energy wave shot out from his fingertips, blasting a helicopter that was trying to escape into a fireball in mid-air.
"Too weak, too weak!" Piccolo grinned maliciously, the antennae on his forehead twitching excitedly. "He's not even worthy of letting me warm up!"
Suddenly, an orange figure burst out of the smoke and pounced on Piccolo at an astonishing speed.
"Kamehameha!"
A blue beam of energy ripped through the sky. Piccolo turned slightly to the side, and the energy blast grazed his shoulder, exploding into a mushroom cloud in the distance.
"Oh?" Piccolo looked at the little Goku floating in the air with interest. "Little one, you're the guy who defeated my son?"
Little Goku wiped the blood from his face, his tail taut with fighting spirit. "I don't care who you are! You hurt innocent people, so I'm going to defeat you!"
Piccolo burst into laughter, his voice shaking the surrounding rubble. "Interesting! Let me see how much progress that old bastard Mutaito's disciples and grand-disciples have made over the years!"
The two collided instantly, and the explosive sound of their fists and feet clashing resounded through the sky.
Goku used all his skills, including the Afterimage Fist, the Solar Flare, and the Kamehameha, but Piccolo easily neutralized them all.
"Too slow!" Piccolo struck Goku in the stomach with an elbow, and the boy spat out a mouthful of blood, flying backward like a kite with a broken string, crashing through three buildings before finally stopping.
Tien Shinhan, watching from afar via a remote robot, clenched his fists, his three eyes bloodshot with rage. "No, I'm still far from strong enough."
Dumpling anxiously tugged at Tianjin Rice's sleeve: "We have to go help him!"
"Don't be impulsive!" Tien Shinhan pressed down on Chiaotzu. "If we go up there, we'll only be a hindrance. We can only trust Goku now."
Amidst the ruins, Goku staggered to his feet, his martial arts uniform tattered. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes still resolute.
"It's not over yet!" He clasped his hands together at his waist, and his energy began to gather wildly. "This time, I'm going to use my full strength!"
Piccolo floated leisurely in the air, a contemptuous smile on his lips. "Come on, let me see your limits."
"Kamehameha!"
A torrent of blue energy, several times more powerful than before, erupted forth, carving deep furrows into the ground wherever it passed!
Bick finally stopped smiling and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
The moment the energy wave struck Piccolo, a blinding white light enveloped the entire battlefield!
When the light faded, Piccolo remained suspended in the same spot, though some cracks appeared on his arm.
“Not bad,” Piccolo said coldly. “As a reward, I’ll make your death quicker.”
He opened his mouth, and a beam of green energy shot out from it!
"So fast!"
Little Goku barely managed to dodge, but was grazed on his right shoulder, and his entire arm immediately went numb!
Piccolo appeared in front of him instantly and delivered a knee strike to his chest, and Goku heard the sound of his ribs breaking.
"Goku!" Bulma screamed from a distance.
Little Wukong fell from the sky and crashed heavily to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. He tried to get up, but found that he didn't even have the strength to move a finger.
Piccolo slowly landed in front of Goku, raised his foot and pointed it at his head, "Farewell, little bug."
At this critical moment, a dark figure rushed in from the side, a sharp samurai sword aimed straight for Piccolo's throat!
It's the great Yajirobe!
Piccolo was forced to retreat, and Yajirobe seized the opportunity to pick up Goku and disappear into the ruins in a few leaps.
