Chapter 773 The only emperor on the sea
Chapter 773 The only emperor on the sea
A terrifying three-masted sailing ship, as massive as an island, eerily tore apart the chaotic edge of the battlefield off the coast of Sabaody.
A thick, impenetrable gray-white mist, like a living thing, spread from the ship's hull, instantly enveloping a large area of the sea and swallowing up some of the noise of the fierce battle.
On the eerie deck, Moonlight Moria's massive body loomed in and out of view through the thick fog. He grinned, letting out a sharp, piercing laugh:
“FUFUFUFUFUFUFU!!!”
"The Fifth Emperor!!" His voice was filled with resentment and twisted pleasure that had been suppressed for many years, and he swung his huge hand violently!
"I've waited so long for this day!!"
As he moved, countless sickening "plop" sounds of falling into water and wet climbing echoed through the thick fog!
Dense, bizarrely shaped shadows crawled out, stood up, and leaped from the edge of the ship and from the depths of the thick fog!
The stench of decay instantly overwhelmed the salty smell of the sea breeze!
It's a zombie!
A massive army of zombies, stitched together with bizarre parts, moving stiffly yet deadly!
Ignoring the pirate alliance on the battlefield, their empty or ghostly green eye sockets were fixed on the silently charging biscuit soldiers!
"Fufufufu!!" Moria's laughter echoed through the thick fog, filled with hysterical madness. "What kind of bullshit World Government! What kind of bullshit Five Emperors! I don't care!!"
His enormous finger pointed fiercely in the direction of the Ghost Carrot, his voice trembling and distorted with extreme hatred:
"Today! I'm going to repay you a hundredfold for everything you've done to me! I'm going to stuff your shadow into the ugliest zombie, so you'll never... uh?!"
Snapped!
A crisp, loud slap exploded across Moria's contorted face without warning!
The force was so great that it even caused his massive head to tilt violently to one side, abruptly stopping his maniacal laughter, leaving only a gasp of astonishment.
A delicate parasol, as if weightless, floated down from Moria's sight.
He covered his face, his eyes wide with disbelief, looking at the petite figure that had appeared in mid-air in front of him—pink curly hair, a gothic Lolita dress, and a signature little crown.
“Peperona?!” Moria’s voice was filled with astonishment, as if he were witnessing the most unbelievable illusion. “How did you get here?!”
Perona hovered in the air, her delicate face taut, unusually devoid of any languor or playfulness, only filled with furious rage, her pink eyes practically spitting fire.
"Are your eyes painted on?!" she shrieked, pointing her little finger to the conspicuous skull and crossbones flag emblem with a carrot in its mouth on her cape. "Look closely! What is this?!"
She took a deep breath, suppressing her anger, her voice filled with a gritted teeth that seemed to say, "How could you be so stupid?" "Even if you're completely out of the loop, even if you've been holed up in that gloomy castle all day, you must have read the newspapers! The whole world knows! I'm a member of the Fifth Royal Company! Perona, the Ghost Princess!!"
Perona didn't even realize that an unnatural blush quickly spread across her cheeks after she shouted those words.
She immediately turned her face away, pointing towards the rear of the battlefield shrouded in thick fog, her tone carrying a hint of urgency she herself didn't realize:
"Listen! Before the captain notices your wrecked ship, turn around right now! Get out of here! The farther the better!"
"Leave?" Moria slowly lowered his hand from his face, the brief shock in his eyes quickly replaced by deeper anger and a stinging pain of being "betrayed".
His massive frame trembled slightly with rage. "You want me to leave?! Perona! My zombie army was destroyed by that bastard! This is a deep-seated hatred!"
His enormous fingers nearly poked Perona's nose, his voice like the howl of a wounded beast: "You actually let me go?! You actually side with the man who ruined everything for me?! How dare you—"
"Shut up! You idiot!" Perona stamped her foot in frustration, her little leather shoes creating invisible ripples in the mist. "You have no idea how big the gap is between you and him! It's a bottomless abyss! You're going to seek revenge? You're going to your death!"
She put her hands on her hips, trying to look as fierce as possible, attempting to intimidate her stubborn former boss: "Listen! If you don't leave, don't blame me for being heartless! I'm now a member of the Fifth Royal Order! I will... I will fight you!"
"War?" Moria seemed to have heard the most absurd joke in the world. His massive body froze for a moment, then erupted into an even more manic and ear-piercing laugh, filled with utterly enraged madness and a reckless, desperate determination:
“Fufufufufufufufufufufu!!!”
"Good! Good! My Mononoke Princess!" Moria laughed so hard he could barely breathe, slamming his enormous hand against the ship's railing with a dull thud, his eyes flashing with a twisted, wounded light: "Since you're determined to be that guy's loyal dog, then come on!"
He suddenly spread his arms wide, and the thick fog surged violently with his movement. Countless zombies raised their empty heads and let out silent roars.
"Let me see! Just how much skill you've acquired by following that monster these past few days!"
"Come on! I'll make you regret this!"
The words have not yet been spoken!
An indescribable pressure, seemingly emanating from the highest heavens, descended without warning!
In an instant, the sounds of fierce fighting, the sea breeze, and even the churning of the thick fog itself—everything was forcibly silenced!
Everyone on the battlefield, whether pirates, revolutionaries, biscuit soldiers, or even those hollow zombies, seemed to have their hearts gripped by an invisible giant hand. Their movements were stiff, and they involuntarily and with endless fear, slowly raised their heads.
Above the leaden-gray sky of the Sabaody Archipelago, a figure floated silently.
There were no moonwalking ripples, no dazzling fruit power light.
And so, defying common sense, it hovered there.
The sea breeze seemed to freeze beneath his feet, and the broken clouds became a backdrop behind him.
It was none other than the Fifth Emperor—Fang Yu!
He was like a god descending from the heavens, his indifferent gaze sweeping over the insignificant masses of people below, who were as small as ants.
After a brief, suffocating silence, Fang Yu's lips curled into a playful smile.
He took a deep breath, his voice not loud, yet it rolled over everyone's eardrums with unmistakable clarity, carrying an irresistible mockery:
"Hey! Those fighting down there! Those watching the show! And those bouncing skeletons!"
He deliberately dragged out the melody, ensuring that every syllable was imprinted deep into the consciousness of all living beings:
"All eyes on me!"
"I have an announcement!"
This sentence seems to have a magical power.
The naval officers looked up, and the pirates' palms, gripping their swords, instantly broke out in a cold sweat. The zombie horde, just awakened by Moria, also stared blankly at the sky with their empty eye sockets.
The entire world held its breath at this moment, waiting for the next word from the suspended figure.
Fang Yu's smile widened, tinged with a mischievous slyness.
He spread his hands beside his temples
next second!
"I'm saying it now! Solar Fist!!!"
Om-! ! !
It was as if a thousand suns were simultaneously exploding in the sky above the Sabaody Archipelago!
There was nothing else in the world!
The purest, most blindingly bright white light, like a spear of light hurled by a god, instantly tore through the leaden clouds and poured down with unstoppable force!
"Ughh ...
The blinding white light swallowed up all color and outline!
"Huh?!!" Moria only had time to let out a short, horrified scream. His massive body instinctively retreated, his huge hands covering his eyes tightly. The burning pain from the bright light terrified him.
This is not the end!
At the same moment that devastating burst of light occurred, an extremely violent hurricane suddenly appeared out of nowhere at the edge of the battlefield! The Wind Release: Earth Grudge's Wind Release Pressure, carrying the power to tear everything apart, crashed fiercely into the wall of thick, impenetrable gray mist!
Huhuhu~
The dense fog, like fragile gray silk, was instantly torn apart, pierced, and then swept away by this violent "pressure" hurricane!
The sunlight, the real sunlight that Moria so vehemently hated, the sunlight that contained the power to destroy zombies, was no longer obstructed by the thick fog!
The golden, warm sunshine, however, has now become a deadly curse!
As the blinding light of the "solar fist" subsided slightly, and people could barely open their teary-eyed eyes, they witnessed a hellish scene—
The thick fog that had enveloped the terror schooner was completely dispelled!
Those zombie armies exposed to the golden sunlight were as if they had been doused with scalding acid!
"Sizzle sizzle sizzle—!!!"
White smoke instantly billowed wildly from every corner of them!
The decaying flesh and sutures blackened, carbonized, and decomposed at a visible rate under sunlight!
A shrill, inhuman scream escaped from the throats of those who had already lost their lives, only to be drowned out by the crackling sound of burning in the next second!
The zombies were like wax figures thrown into a furnace, twisting, melting, and collapsing, eventually turning into smoky, charred remains that emitted a nauseating stench!
Just a few breaths!
Thousands upon thousands of zombies, whose collection, sewing, and shadow infusion had taken Moria countless hours of effort and time, vanished into thin air!
Only a few zombies remained, hiding in the shadows of the ship or buildings, whimpering in fear.
The battlefield was deathly silent.
All that remained was the mournful sound of the sea breeze carrying away the charred remains of the corpses.
Moonlight Moria's massive body stood frozen in the center of the deck.
He lowered his hand from his eyes, his huge eyes bloodshot, pupils dilated to their limit, staring intently at the empty sea before him, purified by the sunlight—the place where his "army" had once gathered for his comeback.
A few seconds felt like centuries.
His fat cheeks began to twitch uncontrollably, his lips trembled, and a hoarse, bellowing sound came from his throat.
finally--
"No no! Aaaaaaaahh ...
A heart-wrenching, desperate wail, as if the soul itself were being torn apart, suddenly burst forth from his chest!
The howl drowned out the waves and the wind, filled with endless pain, anger and disbelief!
"My...my zombie army!!!"
His huge fists pounded the deck beneath his feet with a dull thud, sending splinters of wood flying everywhere.
This once-powerful Shichibukai now resembled a child who had lost all his beloved toys, kneeling on the deck, tears streaming down his face, letting out the most heart-wrenching wail under the scorching sun: "Nine thousand seven hundred and thirteen specially made zombies! My Shadow-Shadow Fruit army is all gone! All gone!!!"
Huge tears mixed with snot splattered onto the deck.
Perona silently watched the collapsing giant before her.
She sighed softly, folded her parasol, and slowly landed in front of Moria.
After hesitating for a moment, she reached out her small hand and gently patted his bloated belly, which was heaving violently and covered with tears and snot, as if comforting a wounded big child.
Moriah's cries abruptly stopped, his massive body trembling stiffly.
"Wake up, Moria." Perona's voice was soft, with a slight tremor and a hint of relief. "It's time for the dream of becoming the Pirate King to end."
She looked up at Moria's large, unfocused eyes, blurred by tears, and said, word by word, "Times have changed."
Moria's massive body shuddered violently.
He stopped crying, his huge eyes staring blankly into the distance, as if piercing through the Sabaody Archipelago, through time and mist, and seeing a long-gone era.
A deathly silence descended once more.
A few seconds later, he slowly and with great difficulty stood up.
Its massive body resembled a lifeless mountain of flesh, exuding a heavy sense of decadence and desolation.
He didn't look at Perona, nor at the sunlit sea that had buried his ambitions. He simply turned around silently and staggered, moving step by step toward the gloomy castle deep within the terror schooner.
The heavy footsteps echoed across the desolate island, each step conveying utter despair.
Just as his figure was about to be swallowed by the shadows of the castle entrance, a hoarse, low voice was carried intermittently by the sea breeze, drifting across the silent battlefield: "I'm glad that guy... didn't treat you badly."
The voice was extremely soft, yet it struck Perona's heart like a heavy hammer.
Perona bit her lower lip hard, and her pink eyes instantly became misty with tears.
She sniffed hard, gripped the small parasol tightly, and shouted at the massive figure disappearing into the shadows, her voice choked with uncontrollable sobs: "Thank you, Lord Moria! Thank you for taking care of me all these years!"
From the depths of the castle's shadows, a faint, heavy sigh seemed to drift out, before utter silence returned.
Only the terror schooner began to slowly and silently turn its bow, dragging its broken hull, and sail away from this sun-drenched sea that had buried its master's last ambitions.
Meanwhile, in a secret hospital.
Former Marine Admirals: Kizaru, Aokiji, and Akainu.
Navy hero – Garp.
The four men put on their navy cloaks again and walked toward the warship by the sea. Behind them were several strange men in white suits.
"Hey, Kuzan."
Just as they were about to board the ship, Sakazuki called out to Aokiji.
"how?"
Akainu frowned and muttered, "I think we should drag that guy onto land for a final battle. Your idea of a battlefield on the ice at sea is highly unreliable."
Aokiji rolled his eyes at Akainu. "Save your breath, this guy can fly."
Behind them, Rob Lucci, with a pigeon perched on his shoulder, sneered, "Don't worry, the higher-ups are extremely determined to take down the Fifth Emperor this time. They've invited several people who seemed impossible to cooperate with before. The air isn't the Fifth Emperor's absolute advantage."
Garp seemed to understand something, his eyes widening as he looked at Lucci. "Have the Five Elders gone mad?! Cooperating with those guys! Aren't they afraid of shooting themselves in the foot?"
Lucci grinned maliciously. "Compared to the World Government, the pirates would much rather kill the sole ruler of the seas."
