Chapter 202: An Opportunity (Additional chapter for the Sheep Catcher)
Ryan didn't expect to meet her here, and the two exchanged greetings for a while.

"Come to deal with land properties?" Ryan glanced at the office behind her.

Nora shook her head: "That is the management scope of the Land Planning Office."

"Can it be done smoothly?" Ryan asked.

He was not particularly anxious, as he had already been backed by the Asset Management Company. It was Nora who was anxious now.

"Don't worry about it. What are you doing here?" Nora glanced at Russell beside Ryan.

"The land acquisition for the music festival requires approval from the municipal office," Ryan said.

Nora nodded, but didn't stay for long. She left with her men, her high heels clicking on the ground.

"Your woman?" Russell inquired.

Ryan shook his head.

Ryan and Russell walked into the office one after another and stated their purpose.

The other party didn't expect Ryan to come in person, so he quickly asked his men to pour coffee.

"It's not that I disagree, but Alex promised us when we were choosing the site this year. It's far away from residential areas. The land you mentioned is right next to two seaside residential buildings." The other party said with a smile, implying that there was no room for negotiation on this matter.

Ryan looked at Russell...

"Oh, Alex did say that." Russell nodded quickly.

"Also, Alex came to me the day before yesterday and asked me to terminate the authorization. What happened between you two?" the other party continued.

"It's just a small matter. It doesn't matter." Russell smiled reluctantly.

"Alex has always been in charge of communication regarding site selection, right?" Ryan looked at the staff member of the municipal office. Since Russell had been hiding the truth, he could only ask in person.

"That's right." The other party nodded.

No wonder Russell has been telling the media that the Ultra Music Festival will move out of Miami.

"Did you have a falling out with Alex?" Ryan spoke immediately after walking out of the office. Combining all the clues he had learned before, he had deduced the general truth.

"There are just some disputes over the distribution of benefits. I'm already trying to find a solution. This matter can be resolved this year, I swear." Russell shrugged and said lightly.

"As for dividing the stage, since we can't hold it outdoors, we can hold it indoors. I own shares in several large nightclubs in Miami." Russell thought of another idea.

Alex had connections, and Russell certainly had connections too.

So the two of them went straight to a large nightclub in Miami. This nightclub was converted from an abandoned warehouse. You could hear the strong bass before you even entered the door. The lights in the corridor were dim, there were graffiti all over the walls, and there were many call phones. There were also a few "female zombies" sitting in the corner with their pants half-pulled down and their heads down. Such people are very common on the streets of big cities, and they are ruined by drugs.

"Didn't I tell you to drive away those cockroaches in the corridor?" Russell said displeasedly, grabbing a security guard after entering the room.

The man was very respectful to Russell and said quickly: "Those people still owe us..."

Realizing Russell's murderous look, the security guard immediately shut up.

Russell whispered a few more instructions, and the security guard left.

"This is very common in nightclubs. Don't worry, if you choose this place as a sub-stage, I promise to clean it thoroughly without a single cockroach." Russell smiled.

Ryan said nothing throughout the whole process, while Russell took Ryan on a tour, from the backstage to the main hall, and then to the box upstairs.

The general environment was smoky and full of the smell of entertainment. The hardware equipment was barely adequate. In the corner, a group of women dressed in glamorous clothes and wearing heavy makeup stared at Ryan the whole time. On the other side, there were a few thugs, all covered with tattoos. Although they looked fierce, they were not as good as Beric's old friends.

When Ryan arrived at the box, the nightclub manager arrived before he even had time to sit down. He and Russell sandwiched Ryan in the middle and called Russell the boss.

"Ryan, the space here is big enough to accommodate many people. If you still feel it is not big enough, we can erect a large screen in Bayfront Park as the second venue. All you have to do is nod and pay a symbolic fee." Russell said with a smile.

The nightclub manager who was accompanying him immediately picked up his glass of wine.

Ryan reached over the bottle and grabbed a can of Coke.

"Not yet 21," Russell grinned.

Then the nightclub manager gave a few instructions, and after a while, several young girls walked in.

"These two are new here, they just dropped out of school." Russell pointed at one of them and said, "You are responsible for entertaining Ryan tonight."

"What are you standing there for? Come here." Russell growled, and the two girls came to Ryan and sat down on their left and right.

"Play with me freely, Ryan. We are all trained and know the rules. We can discuss a lot of business in the future, including your bad room. There is a lot of money waiting for us to make in Miami." Russell pulled away the other person next to him in front of Ryan and said, "Look, ours are all natural. We don't want fakes. The quality is definitely the best in Miami."

After staying for about half an hour, Ryan stood up and said goodbye. As for the two "recent dropouts", Ryan didn't touch them at all.

"As for the venue issue, I will consider it." Ryan said to Russell before leaving.

Russell sent Ryan downstairs, and when Ryan walked away, the smile on Russell's face immediately disappeared.

"What are you pretending for!" Russell spat.

"Boss, do you think he can agree to this?"

"You have to agree even if you don't want to." Russell waved his hand and his subordinate immediately handed him a cigarette.

"By the way, Boss, a new batch of goods arrived today. We have a new chef and I heard the food tastes great."

"New chef? Let me try it first." Russell sniffed.

"You're quite good at this. Sell it to me at a higher price. Oh, and think of a way to dispose of those cockroaches these days. See if there's anyone who can recycle them. It doesn't matter if the price is low. Even if most of them are unusable, the corneas or something will be ok, right?"

·
When Ryan returned to the hotel, he saw Teresa and Daddario in their room. "It's obvious that the deal didn't work out." Daddario turned his head and saw the result from Ryan's expression.

The two of them originally stayed here to chat and ordered a lot of food through room service.

"The separate stage has to be cancelled. We can only perform here. Taylor's new song will still go through the original promotion channels." Ryan chose to terminate the plan.

Ultra Music Festival is mired in internal strife and there is no benefit in getting involved.

At this moment, Theresa's Ryan's work cell phone rang. Ryan now has three cell phones, and he usually only carries one with him, leaving the other two at Theresa's.

“Unknown number…” Teresa took a look and then answered the call.

"This is Ryan Rivers' work number...Ultra Music Festival? OK sir, I'll pass it on. I can't guarantee that he will call you back..." Teresa communicated for a while and put down the phone.

"A man named Alex Omes said he wanted to contact you and said he had something important to discuss with you." Theresa looked at Ryan.

Russell's partner?

"Now go back." Ryan nodded.

Ryan walked to the window sill with the phone in hand. Outside was the night scene with flashing neon lights and the sea in the distance sparkling under the moonlight.

"Ryan Rivers, I advise you not to get involved in the Ultra Music Festival. This is not something you should interfere with." The person on the other end of the phone said coldly, with a threatening tone.

"Russell told you?"

"Naturally someone will tip me off."

"The one from the municipal office?" Ryan asked immediately.

"..." The other end of the phone was stunned for a moment.

"That's right. I don't care what you and Russell are conspiring. You still have a chance to leave now, otherwise..."

"You look scared?" Ryan immediately saw through his bluff.

"Russell said he will deal with you soon... I guess you should be hiding somewhere now?" Ryan continued.

"Then there's no need to hide. I'll be waiting for him at any time." He rejected the second half of Ryan's sentence.

"I have no intention of getting involved in your affairs. I am just performing and will leave after the performance." Ryan said bluntly.

"A wise choice." The other party seemed relieved.

"But you are at a disadvantage now, aren't you? Russell controls all the links, and you have become a marginalized person." Ryan asked tentatively.

“But I have a share in the Ultra Music Festival!”

"That's right, and Russell still needs you. Without you, he seems to be constrained and can't even get a venue."

"That's all my business, from the very beginning. Without me, there would be no Ultra Music Festival today. What did he do? It was just some simple organizational work, and now he has become the organizer." Alex on the other end of the phone seemed a little angry.

"So where is he now? Do you still have a spot?"

"No, he and his brother, along with another subordinate, squeezed me out. I'm trying to find a way, such as filing a lawsuit." Alex said.

He actually thought of resolving the issue through litigation. It sounds like he is just a simple businessman.

“Who supports you?”

"Louis Kelly, member of the Recording Academy and organizer of the Winter Music Conference," Alex said.

"Besides that? Where do your connections come from?"

"…Why are you asking that?"

"Maybe I can help you."

"My sister 'knows' the state senator."

"I see. What does she think?"

"She asked me to quit," Alex said.

"You have connections in the municipal office?"

"Well, some of the state legislator's friends have businesses in Miami, and my sister occasionally passes messages between them. Over time, she got to know the person in charge of the municipal office. As for the exchange of interests between the state legislator and the municipal office, my sister doesn't know much."

Standard revolving door.

Alex, Russell, Nora, Ultra Music Festival...a plan gradually took shape in Ryan's mind.

This might be a good opportunity.

"You want to take back your share?"

"Of course, I invested a lot of money! Now they don't want to give me a penny."

"Maybe, you can get more, but the prerequisite is that you have to cooperate with me."

"What are you going to do?"

"I'll call you back later." Ryan hung up the phone.

Then, he dialed Nora's number with another mobile phone...

Thanks to Florence's Beski for the 7300 points he gave me. Thank you for your support.
