Chapter 494, Part 492: The Holy Duel

Chapter 494, Part 492: The Holy Duel (Bonus Chapter 1)

You have to admit that a hot war without tanks, no matter how fierce or brutal, doesn't qualify as a "steel torrent."

This term, from the day it was invented, was intended for the purpose of tank mass charges.

At this moment, east of Bardock Town, hundreds of magical tanks were speeding along at sixty miles per hour, the dust and debris they kicked up resembling a turbid river surging forward, as if to engulf everything.

In comparison, the twenty or thirty Flame Knights running away in front of them seemed rather weak and pitiful.

Apart from the Duke, they didn't even dare to use their battle aura to create wings to escape, for fear that they would become sitting ducks once they were airborne.

With such a force, chasing down these Infernal Knights felt like using an anti-aircraft gun to kill a mosquito.

However, this situation did not last long, because the newly formed 113th Division finally arrived.

They came full of excitement, thinking they were going to reap the rewards of their victory and, ideally, capture some women so they could relax.

Military discipline during cold weapon warfare was truly touching. Killing innocent civilians and claiming credit for their crimes was not sensational news, but the norm!
However, when they ran head-on into the fleeing Infernal Knights, they didn't even get a chance to speak.

The Infernal Knights showed no intention of slowing down, crashing directly into the crowd and carving out a path to continue their escape.

This stunned the soldiers of the newly formed 113th Division. The change came too suddenly, and they had no time to react.

However, they didn't need to react, because the subsequent magic tanks had already arrived close.

These tank crews had been eagerly anticipating this moment, ready to unleash their full power.

But actually?
Under Luo Yi's micro-management, apart from the first nine vehicles which performed well, the others were basically just there for show.

Do you think they're willing to accept this?

Of course they were unwilling to accept that; with so many enemies, they wouldn't even have enough to divide up.

But when the newly formed 113th Division ran right into the guns, they immediately became excited.

Without any command from Luo Yi, they immediately dispersed, forming an arc and charging forward in a semi-encircling formation.

At this point, they also slowed down and began to bombard the area frequently with artillery or set up machine guns to straf the enemy.

Wherever they passed, it was like a giant net, crushing all enemies into blood and dust.

These newly formed soldiers of the 113th Division were almost powerless to resist as they fled, discarding their armor and weapons, taking every step with all their might, just to escape as far as possible.

Some brave Slavs wanted to organize a charge, but faced with the unfamiliar steel monsters, they didn't even know where to start in their counterattack.

In fact, on such a battlefield, with no undulating terrain, no well-dug trenches, and no complete artillery positions, it would be impossible to stop the charge of the magic tanks.

Let alone third-tier extraordinary beings, even a group of fourth-tier beings might not dare to stand in front of them.

Unless the technology for anti-tank guns is unlocked, for a long time, magic tanks will be the absolute best.

The title "King of Land Warfare" is not just a name given to it by Luo Yi, but one that it truly deserves.

As for the Imperial Guard soldiers behind them, they also disembarked from the magic-powered heavy trucks.

One by one, armed with heavy machine guns or semi-automatic rifles, they began to clear the battlefield.

To put it bluntly, it's about rounding up and capturing those who slipped through the net, or picking off those Slavic soldiers who aren't quite dead yet.

For them, the battle was almost unbelievably easy.

This one-sided crushing defeat lasted no more than half an hour, and the main force of the newly formed 113th Division was completely surrounded and annihilated in the wilderness.

Thousands of Slavic soldiers were compressed into a circle by hundreds of tanks, some of them still holding weapons, watching the steel monsters warily.

But this group was ultimately a minority; the majority of Slavs were trembling with fear as they stared at the steel monster.
Some people even dropped their weapons and knelt down to surrender!

Just as Luo Yi was about to end the battle, a figure crashed down from mid-air, landing right in front of the two armies.

The blazing battle aura of the Fiery Hellfire burned intensely, with the surging temperature even rising to tens of meters high.

A bull-horned battle axe was raised high above his head, and Duke Aquinas Graham's roar shook the heavens and the earth.

“Loy, Loy Raymond, I know you’re here!”

“I, Aquinas Graham, in the name of Grand Duke Graham, challenge you to a holy duel.”

The loud voice echoed between heaven and earth, even suppressing all the noise. Both the enemy and their own side stopped what they were doing and waited quietly for the outcome.

Even today, when chivalry has not completely declined, dueling remains the best way to resolve conflicts, bar none.

Of course, if one side issues a challenge, the other side must be willing to accept the challenge!
At that very moment, a young yet authoritative voice rang out: "A Holy Duel?"
"Hehehe, you've already lost. You actually want to duel with me? What makes you think you can?"

Duke Aquinas Graham had his reasons: "You are a Templar Knight recognized by the Church, honorable and noble."
But if you don't even dare to engage in a duel, you and your family will be disgraced!

Luo Yi was so angry that he laughed. He said, "Believe me, as long as we annihilate the Flame Knights and the newly formed 113th Division today, no one will dare to say that I am weak and easy to bully."

"Then you will gain an enemy you will never forget, in the name of the Graham family, in the name of the Slavic Tsar."
Because you have violated the Code of Nobility, I will retaliate against you.

Your territory, your family, your clan—all face the constant threat of death because of my revenge.

At this moment, Duke Aquinas Graham was like a gambler who had lost everything, completely losing his mind and only hoping to use everything he could to win back his losses.

At this moment, Loy Raymond was no longer as relaxed as before. His gaze pierced through the crowd and landed on his opponent, filled with murderous intent.

Complete silence fell. In the vast wilderness, tens of thousands of living and dead dared not utter a sound. Until, that authoritative yet youthful voice rang out again: "Very well, Aquinas Graham, you want to die, then I will grant your wish!"

"Wait, let's make this clear first. If I win, you must let my knights and soldiers leave, and you must promise not to hunt them down!"

"Sure, but what if you lose?"

"If I lose, I'll die! At that point, I won't have the right to interfere with what happens to me."

"Fine, I agree to that. Now you can die!"

Luo Yi's voice remained calm, but her overwhelming killing intent could no longer be contained.

Before anyone knew it, a figure had appeared outside the encirclement, walking step by step toward Duke Aquinas Graham.

His speed may not seem fast, but every movement is clearly visible.

A series of afterimages trailed behind him, like traces left by time.

He walked through the infantry positions and past the magic tanks, seemingly strolling leisurely, yet moving at breakneck speed.

Upon entering the inner battlefield, two invisible auras collided, intertwined, and became entangled in the void.

This does not prevent both sides from building up their strength!

Duke Aquinas Graham's breathing suddenly became heavy, his eyes turned bloodshot, his muscles twitched violently, and his furious aura surged.

This is a unique ability of berserkers: Berserk!
But that wasn't all. As he raised the great axe, a chill seemed to seep into his body, struggling to maintain his sanity.

This is double berserk mode, also known as autonomous berserk mode, where one is not blinded by rage.

But that wasn't all. He suddenly let out a roar, deep and suppressed, yet bursting forth with unparalleled power.

His muscles seemed to come alive, rolling like mice, eventually converging at his arms, causing his upper limbs to swell abnormally.

However, the power gathered into that one axe strike was unimaginable!
Even so, Luo Yi's steps remained steady as she continued to approach.

"cut!"

With a roar like thunder, countless battle qi slashes erupted from under the battle axe, seemingly converging into a torrent that would completely engulf Luo Yi.

Lori continued forward, her figure suddenly blurring, as if she had multiplied into countless forms, yet also remained unchanged.

Furthermore, there were clashing sounds, like pearls falling onto a jade plate, or like swords clashing and locked in a fierce battle.

But when it was all over, Lloyd still stood before Duke Aquinas Graham.

He reached out, grabbed the other man by the neck, and casually lifted him up as if he were carrying a dead dog.

"You are not allowed to harm His Highness the Duke!"

It was a sharp shout that came down from the sky, carrying a uniquely feminine edge.

Then, a fourth-tier Calamity descended, brandishing a greatsword, attempting to sever his arm.

A fair duel, yet a fourth-tier intervention?

Clearly, this is shameless, and Luo Yi loves to teach these shameless people a lesson.

He didn't even turn his head to look; he simply condensed golden-red battle aura in his free left hand and then flung it out.

Holy Combat Art, Tier 4, Holy Light Spear!

The spear cleaved through the air, accompanied by a whistling sound, and met the rash fourth-tier guardian.

She reacted quickly, twisting her body to try and avoid it.

But who would have thought that at the critical moment, the holy spear changed direction slightly and still headed towards the female knight.

boom!
With a single strike, even a powerful fourth-tier knight was pinned to the spear.

But that wasn't the end of it. Another dark figure appeared beside Luo Yi, two short blades about to slit his throat.

A fourth-tier Black Mist Assassin, a deadly killer.

Kroy simply turned her head, her gaze fixed straight ahead, as if a giant beast were opening its eyes and roaring.

So the black-mist assassin was pinned to the spot, and Luo Yi kicked him again.

Thus, this fourth-tier assassin coughed up blood and flew backward, his fate unknown.

Of course, such a grand duke was surrounded by quite a few fourth-tier powerhouses.

Seeing that someone was going to make a move, they could no longer hold back and all revealed their auras.

Kroy's side wasn't going to be outdone either.

Just as the third fourth-tier expert was about to make a move, a bolt of lightning, imbued with rage, struck out. The lightning battle aura, combined with the sharp sword technique, forced the third Calamity expert to retreat continuously.

Then came the fourth, the fifth, the sixth...

And so, the earth was quiet; in the sky, the four ranks fought for their lives.

P.S.: I rushed to finish it, and it's finally done! This is the first bonus chapter of the month. I'll keep working hard!
