The Wizard: From Zero-Ring Wizard to Almighty Lord.
Chapter 294 City of Mountains
Time passes quietly.
One teleportation array after another lit up, and brilliant runes appeared in the void, like stars turning, guiding the figures of Lynn and his two companions to a distant place.
The image of the Temple of Life has long been left far behind.
They are currently following a long route, along the dividing line between black wizards and white wizards, heading deeper into the southern region.
On this vast southern continent, the wizarding forces are clearly divided.
The territories of the White Wizards and the Black Wizards stand in opposition like day and night, and the dividing line that runs across the southern region is the long-standing rift between the two systems, a long and turbulent gray area.
On this gray area lies a unique place: the ancient battlefield where black wizards and white wizards once fought.
Of course, this ancient battlefield has now become a deep rift valley, the Nightmare Rift Valley.
Starting from the Temple of Life, traversing the mist-shrouded Atlas Mountains and crossing the perilous Red Swamp, one can reach this rift valley.
However, the Nightmare Rift now belongs to the Meteor Council, so Lynn and his two companions have to take a detour to the area beyond the Nightmare Rift.
It's worth mentioning that the Nightmare Rift is not endless; it does have an end.
Here, the world before your eyes comes together again, the fractured land is filled by continuous mountain ranges, and deep canyons give way to ancient plains and hills.
The place where the rift valley ends is precisely where the dividing line continues to extend.
This dividing line has not disappeared: above it, numerous large and small wizarding forces are scattered like stars across the gray border.
Although these forces are not as famous as the Nightmare Rift, and are mostly led by Morning Star wizards, or even some that are not at that level, they bear irreplaceable responsibilities.
They serve a variety of different purposes along this endless line of confrontation.
Some factions specialize in managing the flow of goods, becoming neutral channels for the clandestine resource transactions between black and white wizards;
Some are specifically responsible for spatial teleportation, establishing temporary spatial nodes that connect various strongholds on the dividing line like post stations.
Layer upon layer of teleportation arrays connect this dividing line into a hidden yet bustling passage.
The purpose of Lynn and his two companions' trip was to traverse the entire dividing line.
The destination was none other than the headquarters of the Southern Wizarding Council, the most powerful entity along the entire dividing line.
At either end of this gray area stand two truly dominant forces:
One is the southern stronghold of the Wizarding Council, symbolizing order and law; the other is the Nightmare Rift Valley, which mediated the ancient war between black and white under the command of Radiant Moon.
These two major forces are located at two extreme points, meaning that for Lynn and his two companions to reach the other side, they would almost need to cross an entire dividing line.
Although numerous teleportation arrays are scattered along this dividing line that runs across the southern region, like a road woven from nodes, it opens up a shortcut for travelers to distant places.
If Lynn and his two companions used these teleportation arrays to travel, they could indeed save a lot of time and avoid most of the obstacles and dangerous environments along the way.
Even so, the road is still long and will take a lot of time.
Although there are many teleportation arrays, their levels are limited, and the distance and frequency of teleportation are subject to extremely high restrictions.
Moreover, the route may encounter blocked, outdated, or even occupied nodes.
This made the journey across the entire dividing line take far longer than expected, and it might even miss the upcoming Southern Wizarding Council meeting.
Fortunately, among the three wizards on this trip, besides Lynn, there were also Nightshade Wizard and Whiteheart Tower Master, two true Morning Star level beings, and they were both blessed by "Original Protection".
That is the gift that every newly promoted Morning Star Wizard receives, the recognition and blessing of the great source of the wizarding world.
The core function of "Original Protection" is to protect wizards from the suppression of the laws of other worlds when they go on expeditions to other dimensions and fight against the heavens, so as to ensure that the wizarding system can still operate completely in unfamiliar worlds.
But its function is not limited to this.
Within the inner sphere of the Wizarding World, it also grants Morning Star Wizards an extremely powerful ability: long-distance teleportation.
It's important to understand that the wizarding world is vast and expansive, spanning millions of miles. Even a teleportation network built by countless forces cannot completely cover the entire region.
Ordinary teleportation arrays are often limited by the distance between nodes, making it difficult to support true long-distance jumps.
Only major powers with super-level spatial nodes, such as the "Nightmare Rift" and the "Forge Stone," can barely establish a high-level long-distance teleportation system.
However, Morning Star Wizards, who possess the protection of the source, can bypass these complex node restrictions and construct their own "Morning Star Teleportation Array".
Without the aid of external forces, one can make large-scale leaps within the wizarding world.
This teleportation does not rely on traditional formations, nor does it require a stable spatial anchor point. As long as the target location is not covered by a magic formation, but is located in a relatively open and safe "natural space", it can directly jump to the designated area.
This is the power of the "Morning Star Teleportation Array".
Lynn had personally experienced this power.
When he returned to the Temple of Life from the "Forge Stone," he initially used the ultra-long-distance teleportation array in that ancient ruin.
Subsequently, with the assistance of Wizard Green, they completed the final leg of their journey through the Morning Star teleportation array he had constructed, easily traversing a distance that would normally take months to cover.
Unfortunately, although Lynn himself entered the Morning Star Realm, he did not receive "Original Protection"; as for the Spirit Eye Wizard, he had already lost this privilege due to the shattering of his Origin.
Therefore, he has not yet actively experienced the wonders of the Morning Star Teleportation Array.
Fortunately, the Nightshade Wizard and the Lord of the White Heart Tower accompanied them on this trip.
Both of them are Morning Star Wizards with complete status and favored by the source, so they can frequently construct Morning Star teleportation arrays.
This also meant that Lynn didn't need to worry about the long journey. With the help of the Morning Star teleportation array, they could naturally head towards the Wizarding Council.
Because the trip was quite rushed, the three of them needed to reach the Wizard Council's southern stronghold within the allotted time. Therefore, they traveled almost the entire way, and any brief stops were merely for rest.
And so, after more than a month and a half, the three of them finally arrived at another extreme point on the southern boundary line after passing through one Morning Star teleportation array after another.
That is where the Southern Region branch of the Wizarding Council is located!
....................................
The light slowly dimmed, and three figures appeared in mid-air, two in black and one in white—Lin En, Nightshade Wizard, and Whiteheart Tower Master. "Azure Forest Wizard, the Mountain City where the Wizard Council is located is just a short distance ahead..."
The Nightshade Wizard chuckled, his voice unpleasant, like a sharp object scraping against glass, yet his words carried a hint of offering and worship.
After more than a month and a half of travel, Lynn and the two Morning Star wizards became acquainted.
The two Morning Star Wizards were only willing to chat with Lynn when they were in the Temple of Life because of the "Spirit Eye Wizard" behind him.
Upon hearing that the Spirit Eye Wizard was not there, the Night Shadow Wizard showed no respect whatsoever, directly mocking Lynn.
But now, the two Morning Star wizards greeted him with smiles, simply because Lynn was also a Morning Star wizard of the same level as them.
He was even a genius among the Morning Star wizards, so naturally he wouldn't make an enemy of a Morning Star wizard genius like Lynn unless absolutely necessary.
Therefore, along the way, Nightshade Wizard did not act like a "senior" at all, but actively worked to manage the relationship between the two.
Lynn was naturally happy to accept this arrangement. He didn't want to become an enemy of a Morning Star wizard over a mere argument, and since the other party was willing to smile and give him face, he would simply accept it.
On the other side, the serene-looking Tower Master Bai Xin, dressed in a white wizard's robe, gazed into the distance.
"I can sense the aura of the morning star appearing frequently at this moment, clearly indicating that they are wizards who have come from afar..."
Master Bai Xin let out a soft breath and said this.
"Let's go. We're not slow, but we're not fast either. The Wizarding Council has called up so many wizards for such an important event. We should get there as soon as possible."
Hearing what Master Baixin said, Lynn naturally had no objection. After all, this was the first time he had participated in such a high-level event, so he always kept to the principle of "say less and observe more".
Nightshade Wizard nodded, and the three of them flew directly towards the layers of mountains ahead.
………………
The Southern Branch of the Wizarding Council is located in the "City of Mountains," and its surrounding landscape is naturally as its name suggests, surrounded by mountains and overlapping peaks.
Lynn and his two companions took to the air and sped towards their destination. The closer they got to the "City of Mountains," the more magnificent and complex the land below became.
Looking out, the mountain ranges stretch out like long dragons, as if the heavens and earth are churning here, creating the most magnificent folds in the wizarding world.
At first, there were just some inconspicuous hills and low slopes, lush and green, like gentle waves.
But as the three continued to venture deeper, the mountain rose rapidly, becoming increasingly steep with sheer cliffs and shrouded in mist.
Later on, several mountain peaks rose into the clouds, becoming exceptionally steep. Lynn even suspected that their height was comparable to the renowned Atlas Mountains.
Looking at the magnificent mountains and sea before him, Lynn couldn't help but murmur to himself, "So this is the true meaning of 'City of Mountains'."
Surrounded by towering peaks that seem to pierce the clouds, this mysterious central region is like a constellation of stars surrounding the moon.
The entire landscape seems to have been sculpted by the hand of a deity, with its staggered and majestic features.
However, for a Morning Star wizard, these mountains and treacherous obstacles are not an obstacle.
The three flew above the sea of clouds, never setting foot on the mountain.
They streaked across the sky like streaks of light, their speed unaffected by the terrain.
Lynn also took the opportunity to look down at the magnificent mountain scenery, his thoughts drifting away.
"The unique landscapes of the wizarding world are mostly related to the distribution of energy factors..."
He secretly deduced and drew parallels to the energy geological structures commonly found in the wizarding world:
Volcanoes are mostly formed by the violent collision of underground fire elements and earth element energy factors. The energy fluctuations shape the flow of magma and the uplift of the earth's crust, eventually giving birth to a group of volcanoes that erupt continuously.
The current continuous mountain range resembles a surging wave driven by some force, and its fundamental cause is most likely the extreme activity and concentration of earth element energy factors.
Strangely, Lynn did not detect any unusual energy reactions during his journey.
Whether it is the earth element or other types of energy factors, the distribution is unusually balanced, without any fluctuations or oppressive feeling that should be present in a "surging earth force".
This is not normal.
Logically, if the concentration of earth elements is indeed too high, there must be some kind of "earth vein surge" or "energy distortion" around the mountain range.
Even anomalies such as regional oppression, magnetic field interference, and gravitational disturbances should be reflected.
Throughout this flight, the earth has remained calm, the energy peaceful, and it could even be described as unusually "quiet."
"The energy here has been artificially balanced... it is an acquired force used to balance the universe."
Lynn's gaze sharpened slightly, and he quickly came to his own conclusion.
This is an extremely sophisticated method of "environmental intervention," achieved through complex magical arrays and energy manipulation.
It stabilized and regulated the natural factors that should have been chaotic and intense, and perfectly concealed their initial abnormalities.
This method is something that ordinary forces cannot accomplish; the resources and technology it consumes are almost terrifying.
After all, this mountainous region covers a vast area, and the resources lost over such a huge distance are naturally considerable.
Without a doubt, the one who made the move was the Southern Branch of the Wizarding Council, which controls this area.
Just as Lynn was deep in thought, the voice of the White Heart Tower Master rang in his ears, deep and clear, like a gentle breeze: "...We're almost there."
Upon hearing this, Lynn gradually gathered his thoughts and turned to look into the distance.
As the clouds and mist dissipated, the outline of a city so magnificent it was almost unimaginable suddenly appeared at the horizon.
It was a majestic and towering mountain, enormous, soaring into the clouds, far surpassing any mountain I had seen before.
Lynn had initially thought that the mountain city was nestled among mountains, but upon seeing the towering peak ahead, he realized that it referred to the mountain itself!
Because the Southern Region branch of the Wizarding Council was built directly on this peak!
It was an ancient wizard city nestled atop a massive mountain peak, dotted with various distinctive buildings and numerous suspended magic towers, within which a unique magical light flowed.
Even from a distance, Lynn's gaze pierced through the layers of clouds, clearly seeing the solemn and majestic outline.
His pupils contracted slightly as he felt the overwhelming pressure, and his expression hardened.
Ahead lay their destination: the Southern Region Council branch. (End of Chapter)
