Under the Red Dragon.

Chapter 606 Shooting Down the Stars

Chapter 606 Shooting Down the Stars
Under what circumstances can a powerful interstellar empire be born?

A star system that could give birth to a powerful galactic empire without being guided by the subjective will of living beings would probably be surrounded by sheer cliffs and lurking with venomous snakes and ferocious beasts.

Only under such a high-pressure environment can a civilized nation possess inexhaustible power to grow stronger day by day.

Because when a civilized nation reaches a certain size, the hedonism of the upper-level rulers and the comfort-seeking of the middle and lower classes will dominate the mainstream of civilized society and become the theoretical basis for guiding the direction of the nation's civilization.

Therefore, the existence of a true interstellar empire, in addition to having basic social and cultural coordination and a powerful standing mobile reaction force, must necessarily involve an overall structure of civilized politics that tends towards an extremely flattened absolute imperial authority.

And a governing system that can directly connect with and rule the people is essential; only such efficiency can effectively support the orderly operation of a powerful star empire.

The Pal Empire was such a powerful nation.

However, the impression that the mature red dragon Argogun had of this powerful nation was far from friendly; it could perhaps be described as fear.

As a mature red dragon in the Golden Empire, directly driven by the Dragon Emperor Kalon Gogmora, his disguise when traveling is that of an interstellar merchant, or in common parlance, an interstellar peddler.

One reason Argogun chose to come to the planet Kornno was that this remote planet under the jurisdiction of the Andor Empire had no history or trace of dragons.

Another reason is the unique nature of the planet Cohenor.

The planet Cohenno is a remote province of the Andor Empire. It is located in a remote area, at the other end of the void tide in this star field, and is therefore extremely close to the stars.

Moreover, the planet Cohenno does not have many of the world barriers unique to the material world. It is only protected by the gas layer on the outer layer of the planet. Therefore, the creatures living on this planet can see the scenery in the starry sky more directly.

Argogun's favorite thing to do is sit on the rooftop of his rented house and look up at the stars.

When beings who live in the material world for the first time personally observe the universe, their first reaction may be shock and excitement, followed by an endless sense of emptiness and insignificance.

Beneath his feet lay the bustling world of mortals, while above him stretched the vast and boundless starry sky. The stark contrast between them captivated Argogun.

Since Argorgon set foot in the stars, it has gradually shed its former arrogance and hubris.

After all, no matter how powerful a mature red dragon is, it is not even a speck of dust compared to the entire universe.

Sometimes, immersing oneself in such observations for too long can even give Argogun the illusion that nothing in the world matters anymore.

Even the tyranny, power, pleasure, and strength that one once cherished can become a source of boredom for a fleeting moment.

Why didn't He kill me?

Argogon's humanoid form resembles many of the permanent inhabitants of the planet Kornor, with four ears, green hair, and a pair of emerald green eyes.

When those emerald green eyes looked at the ringed satellites surrounding the planet Coenno in the sky, Argogun couldn't help but think of the Dragon Emperor in the world of Ekania.

Argogun always felt that the Dragon Emperor was as profound and unfathomable as the starry sky before him, just as this red dragon had wondered countless times whether this act of exile was another form of salvation and baptism.

After all, if Argogun put himself in the Emperor's shoes, he would find it difficult to tolerate the existence of a 'heretic' who disrupts plans and order.

Or, to put it another way, no dragon could tolerate the existence of such heresy.

"He is already doing his best to restrain himself and preserve every ounce of the dragon race's strength,"

Argogun sighed softly.

Some creatures in the world fear power but do not cherish virtue, while others cherish virtue but do not fear power. However, the vast majority of creatures both fear power and cherish virtue.

That's why red dragons like Argogun can possess this miraculous 'function' that's akin to self-reflection.

"Unfortunately, I've realized this too late. To return to that dragon's dreamland, I'll probably have to spend the rest of my life atoning for my sins."

Argogun's mind was churning with emotions. Every living being has a longing for home, and dragons are no exception.

This is one of the reasons why many dragons in the world are hunted down by mortal legions in their own dragon nests. Even in the Benevolent Dragon Alliance in the southern continent of the world of Ekania, not every metal dragon that resists the Golden Empire is willing to leave its homeland.

However, Argogun no longer misses its original world, but longs to return to the homeland of the Golden Empire and seek the approval of that dragon race.

"Over the past hundred years, I have traveled and wandered along the starry path, establishing more than ten advance intelligence outposts for the Empire and developing hundreds of intelligence personnel, connecting these advance intelligence outposts one by one,"

"Even so, it might take at least a decade or more to send a message from Cohenno back to the Empire's mainland,"

Even Argogun, being a dragon, had some difficulty remembering how many years he had been away from the Empire.

The rules governing different worlds in the universe are vastly different, and the time scale in some worlds is even three to five times faster than that in the ordinary material world.

In some worlds, time flows extremely slowly, making years seem like a single day compared to the world of Ekania.

This also caused the red dragon's sensitivity to time to decrease significantly.

Even so, the memory of that country, which the young red dragon had only briefly visited, became even more vivid.

Just like a stunning moment that an ordinary person witnessed in their youth, it is enough to become eternal in their memory.

Sometimes Argogun would even return to that cold, torturous prison in his dreams.

But the Eternal Punishment Dragon and the Hydra, which he once feared, now seemed so familiar in his dreams.

However, just as the red dragon was recalling its audience with the Dragon Emperor, a passionate shout interrupted its thoughts.

"Ah, look at Argogun, what's that?"

On the upturned roof of the neighboring house, a local Coenno boy climbed onto a dark chimney and excitedly pointed to the other end of the sky, shouting.

Argogun knew without turning around who was talking to him, after all, young Cassie was a potential intelligence agent target for him.

The news that several provincial planets in the Anxi Empire had been devoured by evil gods and horrific disasters was something that young Cassie told him from other sources. "It's probably a fleet sent from the Anxi Empire's royal planet. After all, there have been many unsettling reports coming from the empire recently, so it's normal for the royal planet to send out mobile legions to patrol and reassure people."

Argogun glanced indifferently at the massive starships that were slowly emerging in the sky.

According to information gathered by the mature Red Dragon from young Cassie and many people from the planet Coenno, the Anxi Empire is extremely powerful, occupying hundreds of large material planes and more than ten habitable stars suitable for the development of civilization.

Several civilizations in this star region are comparable to the Anxi Empire, the most famous of which is the Agudu Dynasty.

Because the Anxi Empire and the Agudu Dynasty had been engaged in a protracted war that lasted for hundreds of years, which ended with the Anxi Empire abandoning twelve large and medium-sized material worlds as compensation.

But the magical perception and superior vision from the dragon made the mature red dragon Argorgon suddenly realize what was happening.

Because those enormous starships that slowly emerged in the sky not only did not fly the royal flag of the Anxi Empire, but also came from the Void Storm Sea.

This void storm sea is a natural barrier separating this star field from another star field. Its vastness cannot be measured by ordinary units; it is a terrifying storm that requires light-years as the basic unit of distance measurement.

Even the mighty red dragon Argogon never dared to venture even a few dozen miles into this ocean of void storms.

Because it has no upper or lower limit, the movement of matter is almost without logical rules, just like a true void.

Argorgon was once just near the edge of this ocean of void storms, and his dragon magic was already on the verge of spiraling out of control.

Even legendary figures can easily get lost in the depths of the storm, and Argogun suspects that ordinary demigods would not be able to easily cross such a barrier of cosmic catastrophe.

But the sight of countless starships appearing in the sky made Argorgon doubt his own judgment.

That was an interstellar fleet large enough to blot out the entire sky, leaping out from the vast, seemingly calm ocean of void storms in the distance.

Argogun could not count the number of these starships, nor did it need to, because these terrifyingly huge starships were blotting out the entire sky above the planet Cohenor.

Even the sunlight falling from the high heavens was blocked by this terrifying fleet, like a faint ray of light occasionally shining through a dense forest onto the planet Cohenno.

In the blink of an eye, the entire planet went from daytime noon to dusk.

Argogun felt his surroundings instantly filled with terrifying screams. He glanced down but did not laugh at the Coenno aliens who were fleeing in panic throughout the streets and alleys.

Even this red dragon wanted to burrow into the soil and dig a deep hole to bury itself.

"What kind of country could create something so terrifying?"

Argogun raised his head again, the swallowing motion between his throat bones unstoppable.

As those vast, boundless fleets gradually descended into the starry sky, the red dragon's vision had already yielded a rough estimate.

The enormous flagship, surrounded by countless starships in the center of the fleet, is as large as a mountain and looks like a giant steel bird in the starry sky.

Argogun's rough estimate is that this massive starship has a wingspan of at least 50,000 meters and a length from bow to stern of at least 13,000 meters.

Sixty-four streams of light shot out from the stern of this enormous warship, each thousands of meters long, scorching and distorting the air in the sky.

Compared to such a colossal and almost wondrous creation, the starships that Argorgon had once stumbled upon in the homeland of the Golden Empire seemed as insignificant as insects.

Only the space port in the Golden Empire, suspended outside the barrier of the world of Ekania, can compare to this enormous warship.

The fleet that appeared on the planet Cohenor was far larger than the ships in the Golden Empire's homeland, numbering in the tens or even hundreds of times greater than the Imperial fleet.

Argogun couldn't even imagine whether his dragon flesh and blood could withstand even a second of artillery fire.

Perhaps even legendary powerhouses would have to flee at the mere sight of such a terrifying fleet.

Because these terrifying warships have several layers of thick energy shields on their surfaces, which look like the materialization of elements, Argogun felt that they were unbreakable.

"Is this the immense power that civilization can achieve? It's simply incredible,"

Argogun had just uttered a shocked exclamation when his expression suddenly changed. He turned to the boy, Cassie, who was already stunned on the roof, and shouted, "Run, Cassie, hide!"

Buzz!
A heavy, enormous hum resounded across the sky, and the seemingly endless fleet came to a stop in unison 30,000 meters above the planet Cohenor.

A deadly threat seemed to be brewing within that enormous flagship, so much so that the sound of the warship's engines running could be clearly heard by Argogun.

This reminded Argogun of the roar of the magic pulse charged main battle cannons used by the main battle legions in the Golden Empire.

If the massive flagship hadn't been slowly rotating its main cannons and not aimed at the home planet of Coenno, Argogun would probably have already reverted to its true form and fled for its life.

Even so, the red dragon still enhanced itself with many protective spells extracted from its bloodline.

Argogun also vaguely sensed that the curse cast upon him by the Dragon Emperor Kalon Gogmora was rapidly flowing and roaring through his blood, fully activating all the life force of the young red dragon's blood.

But the mature red dragon was not happy that it was becoming stronger, because it meant that the terrifying threat it was brewing was enough to leave Argogun defenseless.

When the buzzing in the sky finally stopped, Argogun saw mages and powerful beings who had taken flight from various regions of the planet Cohenor flee in an instant.

boom!
The heavens and earth fell silent as a terrifying yet dazzling light descended from the sky to the ground.

All living beings on the planet Cohen looked up in terror as the accompanying defensive satellite that had been orbiting Cohen forever was cleaved in two by this beam of light.

After a brief silence, a deafening roar erupted, followed by the terrifying scene of stars falling as they turned into countless fragments of rock and dust, crashing to the earth as meteors.

"The Pal Empire conquers all corners of the universe; submission means life; resistance means this very star will be your fate!"

From the massive flagship high above the sky came a tremendous tremor, seemingly the power of telepathy, transmitting another strange language to every corner of the planet Cohenor.
