Chapter 208: Visiting at Night

Chapter 208: Visiting at Night
When we returned to Golden Oak Apartments, it was already dark and the moon was dim.

Link ran more than ten laps on the park track and returned home sweating all over.

Monica took a new role and is filming a movie outside. Link is alone at home these days. Sometimes he goes to Jennifer Connelly's house to spend the night, sometimes Renée Zellweger comes to give him a massage, and occasionally he has a bite to eat at Liu Xiaoli and Michelle Pfeiffer's place. He rarely has time to spare.

But today he plans to sleep alone.

I took a shower, changed into soft pajamas, made a plate of seafood fried noodles, and ate while reading a book at the dining table.

He has been too busy at work in the past few weeks and has not had much time to read. Now that he has some free time, he will take the time to read some reference books on film and television directors to recharge himself in time.

Although he has made movies for decades and is experienced, as well as having a golden finger to help him, it will be difficult for him to make progress in the profession of director in the future if he does not continue to learn.

Boom, boom, boom! Boom!

While I was reading, there was a knock on the door.

Link took a sip of wine, stood up and went to check the door, but he looked through the peephole and didn't see anyone there.

Most people who knock on your door at night have bad intentions.

To be on the safe side, he picked up a baseball bat, opened the door and looked around. There was no one in the corridor, but there were many familiar scents lingering in the air, lavender mixed with a faint fruity scent.

He glanced toward the corridor on the left, closed the door and continued eating and reading.

After dinner, he took a dessert from the refrigerator, went to the door of Jodie Foster's apartment and knocked on it.

Soon Jodie Foster opened the door, wearing a T-shirt, casual pants, and slippers, with her hair hanging down her shoulders. She looked at him with twinkling eyes, "What are you doing?"

"Would you like to try the dessert at Stone Table Restaurant?"

"Eating dessert at night can make you gain weight."

Jodie Foster stepped aside to make room for the door.

"I'm not an actor, it's okay to be a little fat."

Link smiled and walked into the apartment.

Jodie Foster looked at his tall and straight back. This guy exercises regularly, so he doesn't have to worry about gaining weight. But she is an actor and needs to worry about that. This guy came to deliver desserts in the evening, and it turned out that he had bad intentions.

"Your living room is quite a mess."

Link looked at Jodie Foster's apartment. The layout was similar to his, with three bedrooms connected to three large and small living rooms, a kitchen, study and storage room in every corner, white walls and marble floors, a large wool carpet in the middle of the living room, and a crystal chandelier on the ceiling shining brightly.

There were a few magazines on the sofa, and a record player on the counter was playing "La Vie en Rose" by French singer Edith Piaf. It was a humming song and I couldn't make out what it was singing.

The interior decoration is very elegant and the furniture are all luxury brands.

There were just some clothes and food packaging bags thrown randomly on the sofa and carpet, wine glasses and cutlery placed randomly on the counter, a few lilies in the vase had long since withered but had not been replaced, and the air was filled with the smell of snacks.

Link originally thought that with two women living together, the house would be cleaner and tidier, but it turned out that even a single man like him could not clean the room.

Jodie Foster looked at him awkwardly, casually rolled up her clothes and skirt on the sofa and threw them aside, "Do you want to sit down? If not, you can leave."

Link sat down on the sofa, put down the plate, picked up the magazine on the table and prepared to read it, but Jodie Foster snatched it away and threw it into the basket behind the sofa.

"Is Sydney not home?"

"Why are you asking her?"

"Just asking, I'm home alone too."

"I didn't ask you either."

Jodie Foster quickly cleaned up, took a bottle of red wine from the counter, and picked up two wine glasses.

"Have the glasses been washed?"

Jodie Foster glanced at him, took the wine glasses to the kitchen to wash them, and after a while came out with two wet wine glasses with impatience on her face.

Link smiled, took out two tissues and wiped it carefully, then opened the red wine and poured two glasses. It was 86 Chateau Latour red wine, also a type of Bordeaux red wine, with a rich aroma.

"cheers!"

"Humph!"

Jodie Foster took the glass and took a sip.

"What are you doing at home?" Link asked.

"I was reading. I was reading here from 5pm until you knocked on the door. I didn't move at all."

Jodie Foster pointed to the couch.

Explanation is a cover-up, Link asked with a smile,
"What are you reading?"

“Satantango, a Hungarian novel.”

"That novel is too realistic and the story is quite depressing. It's not suitable for reading alone at home." "Have you read it too?"

Jodie Foster asked in amazement.

Link shrugged and took out a videotape. "I found a great movie recently. Do you want to watch it together?"

Jodie Foster looked at the tape, then looked at him, and sneered, "What do you want to do? You should know that I'm not interested in men. Your tricks to pick up girls won't work on me."

Link put the videotape on the table and it was up to Jodie Foster to decide whether to watch it or not.

Jodie Foster looked at him, snorted, picked up the videotape and inserted it into the player.

The movie started playing, with Japanese subtitles and Japanese songs.

"Japanese erotic film?"

Jodie Foster pursed her lips and said, "I've seen just as much as you have."

"Then you're pretty awesome."

Link smiled, ate his dessert, and savored his wine.

Jodie Foster glared at him, picked up the dessert, tasted a piece, found it delicious, and ate a few more.

The movie starts.

A Japanese man got off the train carrying a briefcase and met a cute little Akita dog at the snowy station.

The male protagonist saw that the puppy was homeless and was worried that the puppy would suffer in the animal shelter, so he took it home and named it "Hachiko". Hachiko grew up under the male protagonist's care and waited for the male protagonist to come home from get off work at the train station every day.

Two years later, the male protagonist died of a heart attack. The puppy still went to the train station every day to wait for his owner to return. He waited for nine years until Hachiko died.

This movie is based on the story of Japanese professor Hidesaburo Ueno. It was released in 1987 and was later remade in many countries with good box office results.

Because the puppies in the movie were so cute and the story was so touching, Jodie Foster wiped her tears while watching the movie and cried her heart out.

Link handed her a tissue, "How about this Japanese erotic movie?"

Jodie Foster glared at him with red eyes, "Why are you so annoying?"

"I'm planning to buy the copyright and remake it. Would you like to cooperate with me?" Link said with a smile.

"I play the professor's wife? Is that appropriate?"

"Not suitable, you are too young, you can try to be a director."

Jodie Foster is also a director. She has made two movies and a TV series. Her future movies such as "Money Monster" and "Loop", and the TV series "House of Cards" and "Orange Is the New Black" are all of good quality.

“I’m a director?”

Jodie Foster wiped her eyes and thought seriously, "I need to think about it."

"Don't worry, there's time."

Link looked at his watch and it was past ten o'clock, so he stood up and said goodbye.

"and many more!"

"Do you have anything else?"

Link asked, stopping in his tracks.

"Feel sorry!"

"what?"

"I shouldn't have misunderstood you as a man with ulterior motives."

"If that's the case, then you don't have to apologize. I do have bad intentions towards you."

Link reached out and wiped her face, where there was a tear.

Jodie Foster's expression immediately changed and she waved her fist as if to hit someone.

Link grabbed her arm, took a step forward and pressed her against the wall, lowered his head and smelled her hair and neck. It was the same scent as the lingering fragrance in the corridor just now, but with a little more warmth.

"You can come to me when you feel lonely. When a man and a woman are alone together, they can do more than just have sex. They can also chat. Don't worry, I will never take off your clothes if you don't want to."

Link smiled softly, released the dazed woman and left.

After he left, Jodie Foster was stunned for a few seconds before she reacted. She covered her pounding chest and angrily kicked the place where Link had stood before.

Link returned to the apartment and received two messages on his mobile phone. The first one was sent by Brooke Shields at 8:30, asking him if he wanted to drink. Half an hour later, she sent another message to him, saying good night.
