Chapter 306 Return
Chapter 306 Return
As the terrifying black fog completely dissipated, the entire "Kisaragi Station" seemed to have undergone some subtle changes.
The suffocating chill and despair that permeated the air had noticeably diminished. Although it was still dilapidated and desolate, it was at least no longer filled with the malice of monsters that could leap out of the shadows at any moment.
The eerie whispers and strange noises in the distance gradually subsided, as if the core threat of this alternate dimension had been removed, and the "activity" of the entire space had also decreased.
Yang Liu didn't linger. She walked over to the unconscious office worker and the young woman and checked on their condition.
Although the pulse was weak, it was still relatively stable. However, the body was extremely weak due to prolonged exposure to the black mist and needed immediate medical attention.
He easily hoisted the corporate slave onto his shoulder, then looked at Koizumi Rin, who was still in a state of shock and daze in the corner.
"Koizumi-san," Yang Liu's voice snapped her out of her daze, "Can you still walk?"
"Ah...yes...yes!" Koizumi Rin seemed to wake up from a dream, quickly got up from the ground, patted the dust off her body, but her legs were still a little weak from the fear she had just experienced.
She looked at the unfamiliar office worker Yang Liu was carrying on her shoulder, and then at Yang Liu's calm face, feeling a sense of security.
Yang Liu reached out and patted his head, saying nothing more. Carrying the corporate slave and leading Xiao Quanling, who was supporting a young woman, she turned and left the office filled with ominous memories, returning the way she came.
Perhaps because the core threat had been eliminated, the journey back was exceptionally smooth, and the distorted shadows and illusion traps encountered before did not reappear.
The entire station fell into an even deeper silence, as if it were slowly "falling asleep".
Soon, they returned to the dilapidated waiting hall, then crossed the hall and arrived at the platform where the strange train was parked.
The lights inside the carriage were still dim, but seemed slightly brighter than when we arrived.
The terrified girl, Aiko, was huddled near the car door when she saw Yang Liu carrying one person and bringing another girl back. Her eyes lit up with unbelievable surprise and relief.
"Teacher Yang...Teacher Yang! You're back!" Aiko was so excited she almost cried, and she rushed out of the carriage. "You found her? And...what about that monster?"
"It's resolved," Yang Liu replied succinctly, carefully laying the office worker and young woman on her shoulders onto a bench on the platform. "Don't worry about it anymore."
Aiko looked at the unconscious salaryman and the young woman, then at Koizumi Rin who was disheveled but at least safe, and then at Yang Liu who was still incredibly calm. She was overwhelmed with shock, but even more so with a sense of ecstasy at surviving a disaster.
“That’s wonderful…that’s wonderful…” she said incoherently.
Just then, a melodious yet slightly old-fashioned steam whistle suddenly came from the dark depths of the tunnel.
All three were startled and looked in the direction from which the sound came.
A subway train, almost identical in appearance to the one they had taken, was slowly emerging from the darkness with its headlights on, eventually coming to a stop on the opposite track.
This train looked much more "normal" than the one they were on; the lights inside the carriages were bright and warm, and they could even vaguely see several blurry figures moving around inside.
“This…this is…” Aiko’s eyes widened.
"It seems a passage out of here has appeared." A glint flashed in Yang Liu's eyes. Just as Sasaki Reiko said, once the core threat is resolved, the path back will appear on its own.
Without hesitation, he immediately hoisted the two still unconscious people onto his shoulders and said to the two girls, "Quick! Get in the car!"
Without giving it much thought, Koizumi Rin and Aiko quickly followed Yang Liu's footsteps, hurried across the tracks, and boarded the train opposite, which looked full of hope. The carriage was indeed much cleaner and tidier than when they arrived, the lights were bright, and the seats didn't look so old. Although it was still empty (the blurry figures they had seen earlier seemed to be just a lighting effect), at least the eerie atmosphere was gone.
The three found a place to sit down. Aiko and Koizumi Rin were still shaken and huddled together, occasionally stealing glances at Yang Liu, who was sitting opposite them with his eyes closed, their eyes filled with complex emotions.
The willows remained calm.
He could sense a completely different atmosphere flowing through this train compared to the previous one; it felt closer to reality, indicating that this was indeed the road back to the "outside."
With a soft beep, the car door slowly closed.
The train started moving again, and the view outside the window was no longer a distorted and blurry blur, but gradually became clear.
You can see the familiar tunnel walls, lights, and the occasional flash of other route signs...
They are... returning to reality!
As Aiko and Suzuko looked out the window at the increasingly normal scene, they were so excited they almost hugged each other!
Finally... finally, I'm leaving this horrible, hellish place!
Aiko was so excited that she almost burst into tears.
The train moved smoothly, gradually slowing down, and the familiar platform lights appeared ahead.
Finally, with a slight jolt, the train slowly came to a stop at a brightly lit, bustling subway station in the middle of the night!
The car door opened with a "whoosh," and the noisy, familiar sounds of the real world came from outside.
It all seemed so real, so... reassuring!
"We...we're back?!" Aiko covered her mouth, staring incredulously at the familiar scene outside the window.
"I'm back..." Koizumi Rin murmured to herself, her eyes filled with a sense of disbelief and the joy of being reborn.
"Get off the train." Yang Liu stood up first, picked up the still unconscious office worker again, and stepped out of the carriage first.
Koizumi Rin and Aiko quickly followed.
When their feet touched the solid, real-world platform floor, an indescribable sense of security and comfort instantly enveloped them.
The nightmare... is finally over!
Not far from the platform, two familiar figures were waiting anxiously.
One is Sasaki Reiko, dressed in loungewear, her lazy demeanor undeniable.
The other was Uga Shoji, who had changed into casual clothes. Although his face was still a little pale, he was in good spirits.
After hearing about Yang Liu's actions from Sasaki Reiko, he rushed over despite his injuries.
Behind them, an ambulance with its emergency lights flashing was parked, and several medical personnel were on standby.
Further away, Koizumi Rin's father paced anxiously, eagerly awaiting her return.
Upon seeing his eagerly awaiting daughter, a rare smile appeared on his usually stern face.
