Chapter 101 General Solution of NEWT

Chapter 101 General Solution of NEWT
Fortunately, Professor Victor didn't have many classes to teach today. Apart from two consecutive classes in the seventh-year Defense Against the Dark Arts advanced class, there was no other place in the school that needed him.

Therefore, after completing the routine quizzes, Ivy also introduced the method of wrong question collection to the seventh grade students. To be honest, there are really not many students who come to the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, because only a very few people can still have the enthusiasm and motivation to participate in the advanced class after receiving the Defense Against the Dark Arts education taught by a new teacher every year at Hogwarts, not to mention that many students with enthusiasm failed to pass the OWLs exam.

So although the advanced class includes students from four colleges, it is actually no different from a small class. After being tempered by the other six grades, Ivy's teaching methods have been rigorously tested. At this time, he only needs to use a simple sea of questions to convince these students who are worried about their future.

"Can I really get an E (good) in the NEWT in three months, Professor Victor?" asked a witch with eyes swollen like light bulbs.

"I want to correct you. It's more than three months, a full one hundred days!" Ivy smiled and nodded, "As long as you all have determination and perseverance, one hundred days is more than enough."

"But..." The witch seemed to want to say something, but after glancing fearfully at the test paper on the podium, she shook her head and stopped talking.

"Every class from now on will be like today, starting with an exam and ending with an exam." This is what Ivy often heard during the "100-day sprint", and it is not inappropriate to use it in the magic college entrance examination. "I will try my best to reproduce the NEWT exam environment so that you can get familiar with everything about it. So when you really face it, just think that you have participated in it countless times here, and you will definitely be able to perform at your best."

The young wizards in the audience nodded in conviction. Ivy's theory was simple and easy to understand, and everyone could understand it.

"What about the practical part? NEWT has a practical component, Professor Victor." A student wearing a school robe with a blue badge raised his hand. He was a Ravenclaw.

"Of course I'm prepared." Ivy smiled mysteriously, "Think about what they'll let you face in the practical part, Mr. Jackson?"

"Uh...some kind of dark magic creature we learned about?" Ravenclaw's Jackson hesitated and gave a well-known answer.

"That's right. As we all know, Defense Against the Dark Arts is to protect yourself from dark magic. So how can you ensure that you are really safe?" Ivy asked himself and answered, "Make sure that the dark magic is eliminated."

"Oh——" an exclamation came from below the podium.

"Are you going to teach us some powerful spells?" Jackson from Ravenclaw asked carefully, unconsciously using honorifics.

"For reasons that are well known to all, I cannot take you through all the dark magic creatures that may appear in NEWTs, so I plan to teach you a general solution." Ivy's voice became low, almost whispering, but every student in the audience could still hear it clearly, because no one dared to make a sound. Everyone held their breath and waited quietly for the professor to speak. "If you encounter a dark magic creature that you can deal with, then everyone will be happy, but if you can't, use the spell I teach you. I guarantee that it will not reduce your written test score and will not drop your score from O (excellent) to E (good)."

The students in the audience swallowed their saliva, and curiosity was seen in each other's eyes. Jackson, the Ravenclaw, encouraged by his companions, boldly asked, "Can...can you let us see it, Professor?"

"Of course." Ivy waved his hand, and the bricks on the ground gradually rose up and turned into a giant stone statue.

The whole class stared with wide eyes, watching the statue pull its legs out of the bricks and walk to the other end of the classroom under Ivy's command.

"Protego Maxima." A golden barrier slowly appeared, protecting the entire space at this end of the classroom, because what Ivy was going to demonstrate next was a spell that made a lot of noise. "Perhaps this is indeed a way to increase your motivation to study and your confidence in taking exams." Ivy raised his wand again, and at the same time called on the students to enter the protection range of the "Protego Maxima". "Watch carefully, I will only demonstrate it once."

"Pyroblast!"

As Ivy finished his spell, a bright flash of fire erupted from the tip of his wand and clearly hit the stone statue at the other end of the classroom.

After a shocking explosion, the stone statue standing on the other side of the classroom had completely turned into a pile of debris. The high temperature brought by the spell even turned the bluestone bricks into a viscous molten state. The stones that flew up due to the impact force of the explosion hit the golden barrier formed by the Strongest Iron Armor Spell, splashing ripples.

This spell was improved by Ivy himself, combining the two offensive spells "Thunder Explosion" and "Burning Flame", but it did not turn into a high-temperature fireball that could produce a huge explosion as he imagined. Instead, it was more like a new variant of some kind of explosion spell.

"Wow—" the students exclaimed in unison, "Professor Victor, is this some kind of explosive spell?"

"It's almost the same. I invented it myself. Although it's not quite what I expected, I think this spell is enough to destroy the dark magic creatures you will encounter in the exam." Ivy nodded and used his wand to take back the Strongest Iron Armor Spell barrier in the classroom.

Just as the golden light barrier was slowly penetrating into Ivy's wand, the door of the classroom was suddenly pushed open. It was Professor McGonagall, who was panting.

"Professor Victor! Is anyone injured?" Professor McGonagall asked questions like a machine gun, without even having time to observe the situation in the classroom or even to catch her breath.

"We're all fine, Professor McGonagall." Ivy realized that the noise he made just now might have been a bit too loud. "I was just demonstrating magic. Maybe I should do better soundproofing next time."

"Thank God, you were just demonstrating magic, Professor Victor." Professor McGonagall took a few deep breaths and finally calmed down. Then she said sternly, "I thought another reckless person had let the troll into the castle! I was teaching Transfiguration next door, and the students were all scared by the noise."

Avimer cast a repair spell, returning the floor in the classroom that had been lifted up by the shock wave of the explosion to its original place, and the shattered desks and chairs also put themselves back together.

"Your Shield Charm ranks among the top three among all the wizards I have ever seen, Professor Victor. But even with the Soundproofing Charm, it is not enough." Professor McGonagall began to exert her authority as the Deputy Headmaster. "I hope that next time before conducting such teaching activities, you can report to me first, so that I can at least be mentally prepared."

"I promise." Ivy said sincerely, "When I really plan to teach them this spell, I will apply for a piece of open space on the edge of the Forbidden Forest as a practice field."

"Thank you for your cooperation, Professor Victor." Professor McGonagall adjusted her glasses that had slipped down to the tip of her nose due to running, and nodded slightly.
