Chapter 113 Review Group

Chapter 113 Review Group

"Welcome! Professor Victor, are you also here to observe the qualification review of the magical creature breeding and cultivation base?" The person standing in front of Ivy and shouting welcome was none other than the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In order to welcome the guests, he specially changed into a luxurious dark green robe dotted with many stars and moons.

"That's right, Professor Dumbledore," Ivy nodded, "I have always loved magical creatures."

"Of course, who doesn't like magical creatures that can fly and breathe fire?" Dumbledore smiled and winked at him. "By the way, I like your new look very much. That crown suits your temperament very well."

This sentence hit Ivy's spot. As a first-year student, Ivy looked very eye-catching wearing the Ravenclaw crown, but as the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts, Victor was different. Wizards were all weirdos anyway, so what was wrong with one wearing a crown? Quirrell even wrapped a bunch of garlic in a turban and wrapped it around his head!
As for whether Ivy would wear the helmet after Professor Victor leaves, would it arouse people's suspicion of his identity?
Ivy didn't care about that. Sometimes being handsome was enough, and other things could be put aside. Besides, the crown of Ravenclaw brought him real intelligence, so why not wear it on his head?
"Thank you. I am also very satisfied with the shape of this crown." Ivy happily stretched out his finger and flicked the eagle on the crown, which was about to take off, making it emit a realistic cry. "When will the inspection team from the Ministry of Magic arrive?"

Several professors standing next to Dumbledore glanced sideways, their eyes focused on the crown on Ivy's head.

"Logically they should be here soon. They set out from London, borrowed the fireplace of the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade, and entered through the main gate of Hogwarts. It shouldn't take long." Professor McGonagall stood next to Dumbledore and answered the question rigorously, her eyes constantly scanning in the direction of Hogsmeade.

"Ha! Here they are!" Dumbledore said with a smile. It seemed that he maintained a positive attitude towards the proposal of the Board of Directors and the review of the Ministry of Magic.

There were quite a few people from the Ministry of Magic this time. Walking in front was the short, belly-bulging Cornelius Fudge. He was wearing a pinstripe suit, a bright red bow tie, a long black cloak, a round hat on his head, and a pair of pointed leather shoes on his feet. It was hard to tell whether he was going to work in Hogwarts or to the Forbidden Forest to watch magical creatures.

Following behind Fudge were officials from the Ministry of Magic. Except for a toad-faced witch dressed in disgusting pink, the rest were dressed in serious black clothes. They should be civil servants from the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.

In addition, there was a representative from the school board, Ivy's old friend Lucius Malfoy. Today, Lucius also showed the good education of a pure-blood family. His platinum hair was combed meticulously, and the pure black high-end cloak and silver-plated short staff showed his aristocratic style. It must be said that at least he was very stylish.

"Albus!" Fudge shouted from a distance, with his arms outstretched, letting everyone see how warm and loyal he was. "My old friend!"

"It makes me happy to see that you are healthy!" Fudge hugged Dumbledore. He wanted to pat Dumbledore's shoulder enthusiastically, but he had to stretch out his hand hard to reach Dumbledore's back.

"Me too, Cornelius." The old wizard gently hugged the Minister of Magic, then looked at the Ministry employees behind him. "It is an honor to meet you all at Hogwarts. And of course you, Director Malfoy."

"Everyone at the Ministry of Magic is busy with work. Let's get started quickly." Lucius said stiffly, without any fluctuation in his expression. Although he was not as enthusiastic as Fudge, at least he no longer showed that arrogant and presumptuous smile.

"Wow~" The toad witch in disgusting pink laughed loudly, attracting everyone's attention. "Don't be so impatient, Mr. Malfoy. Even if Minister Fudge doesn't ask for a welcome dinner, he should at least let us get to know the professors of Hogwarts."

"Dolores!" Fudge stopped her with pretended displeasure, but she had already finished her words. "We have official business!"

Dolores Umbridge bowed gracefully and returned to the group without saying anything more.

"However, I think Dolores may have a point. What do you think, Albus?" Fudge looked at Dumbledore again, with a little distress and a little pride in his tone.

"That's as it should be." Dumbledore nodded, waved his hand and began to introduce the professors standing beside him, "Professor Minerva McGonagall, who is in charge of Transfiguration at Hogwarts, and is also the Deputy Headmaster and the Head of Gryffindor. I think many people would agree that she is the most dedicated and conscientious one among us."

Professor McGonagall glanced at Umbridge, then nodded at Fudge.

"Professor Pomona Sprout, in charge of Herbology at Hogwarts and Head of Hufflepuff House."

Professor Sprout smiled and waved. Professors Snape and Flitwick had classes to attend, so they did not come to greet the Ministry of Magic inspection team.

"Then there's our Care of Magical Animals professor, Professor Sylvanus Kettleburn, who can't wait to show everyone Hogwarts' grand plans for magical creatures."

Professor Keltborn's wooden legs clattered on the ground, showing the same excitement as his master: "You're right, Dumbledore! I regret not being born a few years later! If I could build a base full of magical beasts in Hogwarts, I would die with peace of mind!"

"Oh, thank you for the compliment, Sylvanus." Dumbledore sincerely thanked Celtborn, then turned to Ivy, "This is Professor Victor, who will be in charge of Defense Against the Dark Arts for the rest of this school year."

"So - is 'Victor' a first name or a last name?" Umbridge asked in an exaggerated tone, pinching her throat, showing that she was very curious. "Excuse me, I noticed that you are wearing a crown. Who crowned you?"

Umbridge seemed to think she had a good sense of humor. She didn't even wait for Ivy to answer and immediately burst into a not-so-pleasant laugh.

Ivy stared at her coldly, revealing a hint of sneer: "Wisdom crowns me, and truth crowns me as king."

With Ivy's high charm, such a threatening answer immediately stunned the whole audience, and Umbridge's laughter stopped as if someone had strangled her throat.

"Albus," Fudge whispered, "I remember that this year's Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts is a young man named Quirrell. What happened to him?"

"He was a dark wizard loyal to Voldemort and is now missing," Dumbledore said calmly.

But Fudge was obviously startled. He looked at Dumbledore with horror, and after a long while he said uneasily: "You are such a joke, Dumbledore. We all know that the You-Know-Who has left completely... Even if Quirrell really escaped from Hogwarts, you should at least report the missing persons to the Auror Office of the Ministry of Magic!" Hearing the name "Voldemort", the wizards of the Ministry of Magic made a commotion for a while, and Lucius' eyelids twitched. However, Fudge's attitude of treating Dumbledore's words as a joke seemed to give them an excuse to feel at ease, and the crowd soon returned to calm.

"The letter has been on my desk. Maybe I forgot to send it by owl?" Dumbledore said lightly, as if he didn't take Fudge's attitude to heart.

Fudge was relieved to see the smile on Dumbledore's face again. He took out a handkerchief to wipe the sweat off his forehead and asked Professor Keltburn in a friendly manner, "Where is the venue? Why don't we go there now!"

The old professor, who was so absorbed in magical creatures, didn't even hear the name "Voldemort". He tapped the stone bricks in front of the main entrance of Hogwarts with his wooden prosthetic leg and said happily, "It's in the Forbidden Forest! Not far at all. The magical creatures on display today are all top-notch. You will definitely be full of praise!"

"Leaving those magical creatures alone in the Forbidden Forest? Or... under the supervision of other wizards?" asked a Ministry of Magic employee, who then introduced himself. "I'm Nott, the Director of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures."

"Haha, I wouldn't be so reckless!" Professor Keltborn laughed. "My assistant is watching over there! He's really capable! Those little guys are completely submissive under his control."

So Director Nott had no more questions, and the group headed for the Forbidden Forest. During this time, Fudge kept telling Dumbledore about his great achievements in the Ministry of Magic, mixed with Umbridge's flattery and Director Nott's slightly impatient nods of approval.

Fortunately, the road to the Forbidden Forest is not too far, otherwise Ivy really would not be able to help but cast a silencing spell on Fudge.

The Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts is usually a gloomy place. Even if you enter it during the day, the dense leaves above will block the sunlight completely. However, this also has an advantage. At least the wizards who come to visit the Forbidden Forest do not have to face the summer sun directly.

Perhaps because he felt a slight chill from the woods, Fudge shrank his neck and stopped talking, looking carefully at the mud on his pointed leather shoes. It seemed that he regretted not wearing a pair of more comfortable shoes.

In a slightly larger clearing in the woods, Hagrid was already waiting there with a group of magical animals of all sizes.

The first time she saw Hagrid, Umbridge shrank back half a step. This half-blood witch with a strong desire for control hated everything that she couldn't control and everything that was beyond her pathetic common sense.

Hagrid, being a half-giant, is obviously among them.

"Professor Dumbledore!" Hagrid shouted enthusiastically, "and gentlemen from the Ministry of Magic! Welcome to Hogwarts!"

God knows how many times he rehearsed these two sentences. Although he is good at dealing with magical beasts, it is different when facing so many wizards. Ivy used fire dragons and other dangerous magical beasts as bait to convince him to minimize useless wording.

"Rubeau Hagrid, the gamekeeper at Hogwarts. I intend to have him assist Professor Keltburn on this project." Dumbledore introduced Fudge.

The latter stared at Hagrid for a while, frowned, and asked in a low voice: "Is he the student who raised the giant eight-eyed spider in Hogwarts many years ago? It seems that he also caused the death of a witch?"

"We all know Hagrid is innocent." Dumbledore was simply stating the facts.

"Oh," Fudge said, looking annoyed, "everyone knows you're always right, Albus."

"Not entirely." Dumbledore winked amusedly and asked, "Shall we begin, Cornelius?"

"Of course, of course!" Fudge shouted to Hagrid, "Please start your performance... I mean, show it, show it."

"Hey! Have you forgotten someone?" Professor Keltburn said unhappily, making a lot of noise with his wooden prosthesis on the ground. "I know I can't stand with Hagrid. Who would care about an old man with white hair, only one arm and half a leg?"

People laughed in good faith, and Hagrid shouted, "Come on, Professor Keltborn, everyone is waiting to see what you can do!"

So Professor Celtborn joined Hagrid's team without hesitation and announced the official start of the course.

That’s right, this is a demonstration class only for the Ministry of Magic, because Hogwarts is a magic school.

"In previous years, our Care of Magical Creatures classes could only adapt to local conditions. We taught students what magical animals we had on hand. For those magical creatures that did not exist in the UK or in the Forbidden Forest, we could only let students flip through the illustrations in boring textbooks and memorize one or two pale texts."

"To be frank, I hate this way of teaching. I hope every young wizard can see real magical animals with their own eyes and interact with them, instead of just sitting in the classroom and listening to an old man reading about magical animals."

"Now, thanks to Headmaster Dumbledore and the school board, we have this opportunity to allow all the young wizards to see every magical animal with their own eyes! They will have the opportunity to raise them from childhood, observe their habits with their own eyes, and collect their hair, scales, and even blood with their own hands."

"Wait a moment!" Umbridge interrupted Professor Keltborn's speech loudly, "I noticed that you said 'all magical creatures'? Including those certified as XXXXX level by the Ministry of Magic? Do you want to let young wizards come into contact with these? Wouldn't this be... I don't know, maybe too unsafe?"

The part about Fantastic Beasts is a little hard to separate, so I’ll stop here…
