Chapter 137 Avada Kedavra

Chapter 137 Avada Kedavra

"Avada Kedavra!"

There was a flash of bright green light, and Harry was back where he was, with the shrill scream still ringing in his ears.

Until now, he still couldn't understand what had happened.

The evening breeze blew through his messy black hair, and Harry came back to his senses and looked at the row of brick and stone country cottages in front of him.

Harry was unsure whether they belonged to wizards or Muggles, for up to now he had never seen any wizarding buildings other than Diagon Alley and Hogwarts.

The row of houses in front of him was not as crooked as those in Diagon Alley, but looked very neat. A half-man-high hedge separated the courtyard in front of the house from the road under Harry's feet. Many green ivy were climbing on the walls of the house. Bright and warm light shone through the windows of each house, making it look particularly cozy.

Harry felt relieved and walked along the concrete road towards the end of the row of houses.

This is the only house without lights on. It looks like it has three floors and should be a cozy home for a couple.

Harry put his hand on the iron door. It looked very smooth and must have been used frequently.

Maybe the owner was just out shopping for supplies? Harry was a little curious about what the owner of the house was like.

His eyes moved to the side and saw the brass nameplate on the brick wall.

"Potter." Harry smiled. This surname was not uncommon in England. It seemed to refer to masons or potters at first. There were a large number of Potters among Muggles.

The lights in the three-story cabin were suddenly lit up, as if they were lit just for him.

Harry loosened his grip on the iron gate, but it opened for him. He hesitated for a moment and entered the small courtyard where everything was in perfect order. He stood in front of the wooden door, not knowing what to do.

Just as Harry finally raised his hand to knock on the door, a woman pushed it open from the inside.

She was obviously startled by Harry standing outside the door, but immediately a beautiful smile broke out on her face.

Harry could have sworn that was the most beautiful smile he had ever seen.

The woman standing in the doorway was also beautiful, with crimson hair and green eyes, exactly like Harry's.

"Harry!" The woman called Harry's name affectionately and pulled him into the house. "I was wondering where you went crazy again! Why didn't you come back at dinner time? Now, my dear son, go wash your hands and get ready for dinner. Dad is already waiting in the dining room."

She is my mother.

Harry was simply shocked.

Only then did he realize that his mother was exactly the same as the image reflected in the Mirror of Erised, except that she had suddenly changed from a flat surface to a real person, which made Harry unable to react for a moment.

Tears blurred his eyes without him knowing when, but he didn't want to waste time wiping them away. He just wanted to take one more look.

Lily Potter was talking about the trivialities of a housewife, just as Harry had dreamed countless times. She noticed the changes in her son behind her and turned to look at him, just in time to see tears streaming down Harry's cheeks.

"What's wrong?" Lily Potter hugged her son, just like she had eleven years ago, holding him tightly in her arms and patting his vest with one hand.

"I just..." Harry didn't know where to put his hand at first, but finally put it obediently on his mother's red hair behind her back, "I just want to see you so much..."

"Haha." Lily Potter had a very pleasant laugh. She put her cheek against Harry's and said softly, "I have always been..."

"boom--"

Harry turned his head. The noise came from the hallway. He was not the only one who was startled. A male voice approached quickly from the direction of the restaurant: "Lily? Are you okay? Harry!"

He was a tall but thin man. He also wore round glasses and had messy black hair. A tuft of hair at the back of his head stood up disobediently, just like Harry's.

"You guys go inside, I'll go out and take a look." James Potter said standing at the door of the restaurant, and then he reminded Harry, "You are already a good boy, Harry. Protect your mother, okay?"

Harry nodded and watched James Potter leave. He suddenly wanted to touch the scar on his forehead, but all he felt was beads of sweat from nervousness.

"Dad!" Harry yelled.

James Potter turned around and gave his son an encouraging smile before disappearing behind the door.

Green fluorescence reflected through the wall into the living room, and before Harry could figure out what was going on, he heard the sound of something heavy falling to the ground.

A figure wrapped in a black robe floated in from the hallway. A thin, pale hand was raised from under the robe, holding a wand.

Harry felt his mother hug him tighter than ever before.

"Avada Kedavra!"

The green light seemed to flicker for a century, and Harry had never felt breathing so difficult.

The gas seemed to condense in his chest, and a chill penetrated his skin, chilling his chest and his heart...

He was drowning in the cold, his ears were surging, like water hitting his body, he sank, and the roar in his ears became louder...

There were screams in the distance, terrible, frightened, pleading screams.

……

Harry took a deep breath, like a drowning man finally coming to the surface...

He once again stood on the street at dusk.

There is a mossy cement road under my feet, neat hedges on the side of the road, and a row of neat houses covered with lovely green ivy.

Harry quickened his pace and headed towards the house at the end of the road...

----

"What a brilliant magic." Dumbledore and Ivy stood in front of the last level leading to the Mirror of Erised, an illusion created by Ivy using ancient magic. Although it looked like an endless grassland from the outside, Ivy himself had no idea what kind of scene people who entered would encounter.

A goat was looking out from the wall, seemingly very curious as to whether the white-bearded guy in front of him was of the same species as himself.

"This is much more delicate and vivid than the portraits hanging all over Hogwarts." Dumbledore studied it for a while, and finally gave up. "It seems that the two little wizards have already gone in."

"I can't think of any other possibilities." Ivy stretched out his finger and tapped the wall, creating ripples.

"Can we see what they go through in there?" Dumbledore's blue eyes were full of curiosity. At his age, he rarely saw new things.

"Okay, just like using a Pensieve, we will stand beside them." Ivy nodded, took out the ancient magic wand made of goblin magic silver, and thrust it into the water waves on the wall to stir them. A vortex gradually expanded and finally became a person-high entrance. "Please come in, Professor Dumbledore."
