Chapter 189 Open
Harry took a pleasant walk around the castle.

As long as he stayed in this castle, Harry would feel a kind of happiness from the bottom of his heart at any time.

Maybe we should exclude the time when we are in Potions class.

Well... this year we also have to add the time when Professor Lockhart dragged me to take photos.

For the past twelve years, Hogwarts had been the place that most resembled home that he could remember.

He got everything in this school, family, friends, admiration, and most importantly, magic.

Harry opened his Christmas presents this morning, and not even a toothpick from Uncle Vernon could spoil his good mood.

Hagrid gave him a bag of fudge that was as hard as a stone; Ron gave him a book called "Flying with the Cannons". That was his favorite Quidditch team, but it had been at the bottom of the league for a long time. Ron pasted posters of the players all over the room; Hermione bought him an expensive feather pen. Knowing that he already had an automatic feather pen sent by Ivy, perhaps Hermione thought that using an automatic feather pen to do homework could not be considered studying; Mrs. Weasley gave him a brand new hand-knitted sweater and a big raisin cake, which Harry wore under his robes!
In addition to this, Harry also received Ivy's master key, so that he can hide in his room next summer to complete his homework without worrying about being expelled.

After breakfast, Harry ran to the square with the Gryffindor students who stayed in school to play in the snow. Of course, he did not forget his two friends, Ron and Hermione.

Hermione had been in a bad mood lately, especially since she hadn't completed the homework given by Professor Lockhart.

Harry and Ron both thought it was best to avoid offending Hermione, so they had tried to avoid saying the word "homework" recently, as they didn't like it anyway.

In order to help Hermione relieve her emotions, Harry took the two friends to build a snowman in the square.

In fact, he wanted to join the other side of the snowball fight, especially after Ron was pushed into a snowball by his two brothers. The snowball was originally the head of a snowman, but Ron held it up in anger to seek revenge.

As a result, the snowman's prepared head failed to hit Ron's twin brothers. Instead, it was controlled by them and hit Percy, the oldest student of the Weasley family at Hogwarts and also the prefect of Gryffindor.

Percy's counterattack accidentally hit Professor McGonagall, and in the end, all the Gryffindor students participating in the snowball fight were easily defeated by Professor McGonagall alone.

What's more, Professor McGonagall used the snowman that Harry and Hermione made. Although Professor McGonagall later returned one to them, it started snowing again, so the students returned to the castle one after another.

Professor McGonagall asked all participants in the snowball fight to report to the school hospital and take a sip of refreshing medicine to avoid catching a cold during the Christmas holidays.

Harry was originally going to go with them, but the Weasley's youngest daughter Ginny always made him feel uncomfortable, so he found an excuse to leave the group.

While admiring the paintings in the corridor and strolling while waiting for dinner, Harry unknowingly came to the outside of the Defense Against the Dark Arts office on the third floor.

Harry instinctively wanted to leave. Even if Professor Lockhart exempted him from a semester's homework, Harry didn't want to have anything to do with him.

But the door of the office was half open, and the sound of Lockhart humming a song could be heard from inside. This made Harry curious again, thinking, this professor who always concealed his shortcomings defeated the terrible monster in the Chamber of Secrets, what kind of person was he when he was alone?
People don't lie to themselves, right?

Just take a look.

Harry thought.

Maybe Professor Lockhart will discover him at a glance. He is a master of Defense Against the Dark Arts!
It was no different from the portrait Harry had seen on the wall when he was in detention for a little mud. Professor Lockhart was fiddling with his golden hair. On his desk was a small, glittering silver bowl. Harry suspected it was an eggshell, perhaps a dragon's eggshell? Because Harry had only seen something of similar size under Hagrid's stove. Later, a ferocious dragon emerged from the black eggshell, and now it was kept by Ivy next to Professor Lockhart's office.

Professor Lockhart mixed the mixture in silver eggshell with a curling comb, then applied it carefully to a lock of hair and secured it with a pink curling iron.

Harry shuddered, for Professor Lockhart's expression reminded him of his Muggle Aunt Petunia, who had the same expression when she curled her hair.

There was no doubt that Professor Lockhart was enjoying his alone time. Harry thought he should not disturb him, so he quietly withdrew his head and closed the office door.

When passing by the girls' bathroom, he quickened his pace. Neither the Myrtle inside nor the fire dragon below were people he had the courage to face.

"Help! Help!"

Harry suddenly heard someone shouting, and he was familiar with the voice. It was the one standing outside the bathroom door. But his two friends said it was a ghost. How could there be three ghosts in one suit of armor?

"Who's yelling for help?" Harry said to the armor.

"Thank God! Someone finally heard us!" "Get us out of here! You damn, slow little brat!" "Go find someone else! You can't handle this!"

Harry was startled when three different voices spoke at once.

"What happened?" he asked.

"The fighting has started!" "The monsters down there have started fighting!" "They're going to kill everyone they see!"

Was the dragon fighting something else? What Ron had been worried about had finally happened. Perhaps in a short while, the castle would be completely burned.

"He can open that door!" "Speak! Say: 'Open'!" "Please let us out!"

"Open which door?" Harry had just asked when he remembered the scene when he saw Ivy in the bathroom that day. Didn't he say the code word "open"?

"You were under the bathroom?" Harry asked in shock.

"It's not underground! You idiot!" "We are stuck at the door! As long as you can open the door... maybe you can help me..." "We are saved! We are saved!"

Harry pushed open the bathroom door, walked to the last faucet, and whispered, "Turn it on."

The pool showed no reaction, and Harry began to wonder if he had been dreaming that day.

At this moment Myrtle burst into tears from a compartment and disappeared into the wall. Harry said sorry in his heart without any apology.
