Chapter 311: Men's Counterattack

Chapter 311 Men's Conversation

"James? Sirius? Where are you two taking Harry?" Mrs. White had already buttoned her clothes again and looked at Harry in confusion as he was picked up by his father and godfather, one on each side, and dragged away.

The gathering of the Order of the Phoenix had ended. After receiving instructions from Dumbledore, everyone left for their own jobs. Even Mad-Eye, who had inexplicably caused a fight, had left 12 Grimmauld Place. The only people left in the restaurant were the wizards who lived here, including two Blacks, two Whites, and a Potter.

"Don't worry about it, Lily!" Mr. White walked out without looking back. "This is a conversation between men!"

Mrs. White shook her head to show her incomprehension, then looked at the only man in the restaurant who did not follow her out.

"Childish man talk," said Regulus.

Three men, or rather one of them was a young boy, sat neatly on the steps at the door. The heavy rain had not stopped, but the eaves above their heads gave them a small piece of clean ground.

In order not to trigger Mrs. White's nagging about dirty clothes, Sirius used his wand to clean up the footprints and mud spots on the ground before they sat down.

"You know why we called you out, right?" Sirius nudged Harry, who was sitting between the two grown men.

"Uh... I know?" Harry was obviously not sure whether he knew it or not.

"Of course it's for your mother!" James, who was sitting on Harry's left, put his arm around Harry. No wonder they looked more like brothers than father and son.

"Uh... yes! It's for Mom." Harry glanced at Sirius beside him, hoping to get further hints.

Sirius sighed: "Harry, you have to protect her. You are a man now, you have to protect your mother."

"But we'll all be at Hogwarts next school year. Who can hurt her from under the noses of Dumbledore and Ivy..." Harry was halfway through his rebuttal when he noticed his father's expression and immediately changed the subject, "Protect her from whom?"

"Who else could it be?" Mr. White shouted angrily, but his voice did not carry far in the rain. "Snape, of course!"

"Uh...but I don't think he will hurt Mom..." Harry shrank his neck and said, "He has a very special feeling for Mom."

Mr. White froze, staring in disbelief at Harry's face, which was eighty percent similar to his, feeling like he had suffered the worst betrayal.

"You are already fourteen years old, Harry." Sirius said earnestly, "Haven't you ever met a very special girl? You want to bully her, want to talk to her? Or just want to play with her?"

"Why do you ask?" Harry was a little confused. "Why do I have to play with other girls? I have Ron and Hermione! And Quidditch!"

Hearing him say this, Mr. White was no longer angry. He leaned over with great interest and asked, "Tell me about this Hermione. Although we watched the Quidditch World Cup with them, we still know too little about each other."

"Hermione?" Harry confirmed. His father and godfather both nodded, so he had to try hard to recall. He could talk about Hermione for a long time, but he didn't know where to start, so he just picked out Hermione's most prominent features. "She's very smart..." Harry tried to list a few pieces of evidence of Hermione's intelligence, but found that he couldn't stop once he started. "She can finish all her homework in a flash, and she has taken all the courses. She memorized all the rules of Hogwarts. You don't know how many bans Filch has! She memorized them all! She even memorized the super thick book "Hogwarts, A History"! She can use a lot of magic that I don't quite understand... Although I'm better at dueling magic, she can always recite some spells that I've never heard of!"

"And then?" James asked immediately. He had begun to take an interest in this girl.

"She... is very rule-abiding." Harry thought for a moment. "She always stops Ron and I from doing stupid things, and she will break the school rules when necessary. As she said, 'Remember the rules so you can break them when necessary.' Once she sets her mind on something, nothing can stop her, like the House-Elf Rights Promotion Association."

"What do you like about her?" Sirius asked in a coaxing manner.

Harry thought for a while, his eyes getting brighter and brighter. "I like copying her papers! Hermione's after-class papers are always written quickly and well. Ron and I only need to refer to a small part, which is enough to complete the tasks assigned by the professors!"

Sirius covered his forehead with his hands: "No wonder I always feel that your homework is somewhat similar..."

Then he and Mr. White looked at each other and realized that the girl named "Hermione" was not Harry's lover, but his "mother".

"She looks a lot like Lily, doesn't she?" James asked.

"Completely different." Harry shook his head. He couldn't imagine his mother suddenly becoming Hermione one day, or Hermione becoming his mother.

"Okay?" Mr. White had begun to understand the problem. The long absence of family affection had made Harry obviously not very clear about the things between men and women, and he had infinitely beautified his mother.

Mr. White and Sirius knew very well that everyone has shortcomings, and one of the most important prerequisites for maintaining a long-term marriage is to be able to accept each other's shortcomings.

"You know Snape likes your mother, right?" Mr. White decided to speak out. "In fact, they knew each other when they were very young. But he still has evil intentions towards your mother!"

"You will be the only one who will stay with Lily for the next school year. You must not let Snotlout take advantage of the situation!" Sirius reminded.

"But we will be back at Christmas?" Harry had a mysterious confidence in his mother. "Besides, you are my father and she is my mother. How could she accept Professor Snape?"

"This... this is different..." Mr. White was unable to express his concerns clearly. "Of course I trust your mother, but I hope you can be vigilant against Snape! Especially be careful not to let them have the opportunity to be alone!"

"Oh." Harry answered slowly, "Actually, I think Professor Snape is quite pitiful. After all, you two are my parents."

Sirius and Mr. White looked at each other and knew that with Harry's high sense of morality, he could not understand the third party in love.

Wow, I ran into a writer's block today. I don't know if I can finish 10,000 words. I'll just post one chapter first...
