Chapter 79: Wonski's Fake Move

Chapter 79: Wonski's Fake Move
After discussing for so long, Harry finally saw the true face of Nimbus 2001.

It was a broom made up of a straight and smooth black wooden handle, a silver footrest and broom hoop, and many neat branches. The overall style was much more luxurious than the plain Nimbus 2000.

What a good broom.

Harry thought.

Unfortunately, it was filled with giant monsters, excluding Ivy, of course.

The sixth-year Seeker who had played against Harry in the last match became a substitute, and Ivy sat upright on the beautiful broom, sweeping across the court lightly and silkily.

Had he really never played Quidditch, as he said?
Before the doubts could spread in Harry's heart, the voice of his captain Wood rang in his ears: "Focus, Harry! You are our only hope!"

Harry cast a grateful look at Wood, and then was horrified to see that he was almost knocked off his broom by the Slytherin troll captain in such an embarrassing manner.

"Beep--" Madam Hooch blew the whistle. It was an offensive foul committed by the Slytherin Chaser on the Gryffindor Keeper.

So the ball was handed over to Gryffindor. Harry's heart dropped a little: "Fortunately, the first goal was scored by Gryffindor."

Angelina, the famous Gryffindor Chaser (who is known to the whole school as beautiful thanks to Lee Jordan's boasting) is about to take a penalty kick. Her Comet 260 has a very good straight-line acceleration, and combined with her fancy ball-handling moves, it will definitely confuse the opposing keeper. In fact, allowing the Chaser and the Keeper to play one-on-one usually ends with the attacker scoring.

Almost in the blink of an eye, Angelina crossed the entire offensive zone, and after several quick changes of direction with the ball, she aimed at the top hoop. The Quaffle turned into a flash of lightning and flew towards the goal. Slytherin goalkeeper Miles Blige had almost no time to react, his hands were still tightly grasping the wooden handle of Nimbus 2001.

The ball went in! Harry secretly clenched his fist, ready to listen to the cheers from the stands.

"Oh--" the crowd shouted in disappointment, and the Quaffle was thrown out.

How could it be possible? Harry couldn't believe what was happening.

Miles Blige did not get his arm off his broom in time, but the powerful performance of the Nimbus 2001 helped him prevent Gryffindor from scoring. He blocked the Quaffle with his face!

Even though there were two bright red blood marks under his red nose, Miles Blige just showed his two rows of white teeth and grinned at Gryffindor, with no intention of wiping them off, as if those were not wounds but his medals.

Harry had never expected that the Slytherin team members had changed so much after just a few months of not seeing them.

Although they were also tall and big in the past, they would pester Madam Hooch for free throws at the slightest bump.

In the words of Fred and George, it was like a baby troll chasing its mother for milk.

But now... Harry didn't understand what was going on. Those Slytherin Quidditch players were as crazy as if they wanted to eat them alive.

Harry followed the Slytherins' line of sight and saw Ivy, who was flying the highest on Nimbus 2001, descending. He came in front of Miles Blaitch, pointed his finger at his still bleeding nose and whispered something, and the other's nose stopped bleeding immediately.

Then the game resumed, with Slytherin taking the ball and attacking. Their tactics only made Harry think of one adjective, that is, barbaric.

The three Chasers rushed around the field, never letting go of the Quaffle. Even when the Bludger was hit hard at them by Fred or George, those troll-like big guys just relied on the speed advantage of Nimbus 2001 to rush forward, with no intention of dodging or passing the ball.

Harry saw the troll captain, Marcus Flint, being hit in the back by a Bludger, but he only swayed slightly on his broom before steadying himself, and the Bludger flying around him was quickly dealt with by two other hairy Slytherin Beaters.

Harry found that the Quidditch teams of Slytherin and Gryffindor had many similarities, such as both of them had a pair of brothers as beaters, except that the Gryffindor team had the Weasley twins, while the Slytherin team had a pair of mountain trolls.

The speed of the Nimbus 2001 gave the Slytherin team a terrifying advantage. Their chasers didn't need to pass the ball, they just had to hold down their brooms and rush towards the goal. It was difficult for the Gryffindor players to catch up unless they intercepted them in advance.

But the interception tactic may not work every time, because your opponents are a group of trolls. What's more terrible is that Gryffindor's chasers this year are all beautiful girls. When the two groups of people fly in the air together on broomsticks, Harry always thinks of Beauty and the Beast unconsciously.

"Oh!"

Oliver Wood, the captain and goalkeeper of Gryffindor, collided with a Slytherin chaser again. This was the third penalty kick of the game. Fortunately, another Gryffindor chaser, Alicia Spinnet, finally scored the penalty kick, breaking Gryffindor's goal drought.

Harry glanced at the score, 60:10, Slytherin was leading by 50 points.

I still have time. Harry anxiously scanned the field, praying that the Golden Snitch would appear soon. As long as he caught the Golden Snitch before the score difference widened to 150 points, Harry could help the team turn the situation around.

He looked up at Ivy. The Nimbus 2001 was carrying him to a higher altitude. Looking at his figure, he didn't seem to be affected at all by the stronger wind at high altitude.

Ivy suddenly dived down with her broom in hand. Although Harry knew that it might just be a feint, he decided to follow closely, while secretly raising his vigilance in his heart.

It was almost straight down, and it was accelerating.

Usually, Harry would do this kind of dangerous moves by himself. Seeing his friend playing so thrillingly on the broom, Harry felt a chill in his heart. What made him even more frustrated was that his Nimbus 2000 really couldn't catch up with Ivy's Nimbus 2001.

The ground was getting closer and closer. The strong wind had distorted Harry's glasses, so he couldn't see the situation on the ground clearly. He told himself that it was a trap while continuing to dive down with Ivy.

The turf of the stadium almost completely occupied Harry's field of vision, except for a dark green square not far in front of him. Harry knew that it was Ivy's cloak. His eyes were fixed there, and he was determined to follow Ivy's movements.

"Whoosh."

Ivy piloted the Light Cycle 2001 in a light and graceful manner, drawing an inclined arc and returning smoothly to the air before hitting the ground.

I knew it was a trap!

Harry didn't have time to think, so he used all his strength to bend the head of the broom upwards.
