Chapter 27 Road Register
When Nan Xu was pulling her suitcase out the door, she ran into Sang Tingwan's other two roommates.

She didn't say much, just smiled.

Indifferent and detached.

The two exchanged a glance, said nothing, and silently walked around Nanxu.

Nan Xu helped put Sang Tingwan's suitcase into the trunk and said to Sang Tingwan, who was standing to the side, "Get in the car, I'll take you there."

Sang Tingwan nodded, still thinking about what had just happened.

Nan Xu opened the driver's side door, fastened her seatbelt, and only then did Sang Tingwan speak.

"Sister Nan, what did you do to Sang Rou...you..." Sang Tingwan took a deep breath.

Nan Xu calmly started the car. "It's nothing. I just told her to mind her own business. If she can't, I'll take care of her myself."

Sang Tingwan tightened her seatbelt, wondering if her status as an illegitimate child would affect her work.

"Sister Nan, will the fact that I'm an illegitimate child affect my work?" Sang Tingwan's tone revealed her concern.

Nan Xu drove without saying a word.

She is not yet clear about the various rules of the entertainment industry, but the fact that her illegitimate daughter is known could indeed affect her.

"I don't know about this yet. If anything goes wrong, I'll try my best to cover for you."

Nan Xu's words offered Sang Tingwan some comfort.

Sang Tingwan secretly bit her lip.

We arrived quickly. The community has a very nice environment, with recreational facilities and a swimming pool.

The only downside is that it takes more than 20 minutes to walk from the entrance of the community to the building.

Nanxu parked the car in the underground garage.

She and Sang Tingwan took the elevator upstairs.

Sang Tingwan was somewhat shocked by the facilities and environment of the community.

Although it's just a residential community, it has an excellent location, surrounded by various shopping malls and pedestrian streets.

She hadn't expected the house Nan Xu rented for her to be so nice.

"Sister Nan, how much is the rent for this apartment per month?" Sang Tingwan asked cautiously.

Nan Xu silently calculated in her mind, "Probably around eight or nine thousand."

"So expensive?" Sang Tingwan exclaimed in surprise.

"It still doesn't include property management fees," Nanxu kindly reminded her.

Fortunately, it was a company that rented the apartment for her; otherwise, she would have to work two jobs a month just to barely afford the rent.

"Sister Nan, is it appropriate for me to live in such a nice house?" Sang Tingwan asked nervously, fiddling with the paper bag on her suitcase.

"Wouldn't it be more appropriate once you become a big star?" Nan Xu teased.

Sang Tingwan forced a smile, wondering how long it would take for her to become a big star.

Before we knew it, the elevator had arrived.

The apartment was on the 16th floor. Nanxu pressed the keypad lock and opened the door.

The house is decorated in a modern minimalist style. The rooms have a wide view and face south. Natural light and ventilation are excellent.

A full-length window, and you can vaguely see the Communication University of China from the balcony.

Sang Tingwan hesitated to go in for a moment, but Nan Xu went in first and said to Sang Tingwan, "Come in quickly, don't just stand there."

Sang Tingwan pulled her suitcase in; she had never seen such a beautiful house before, except for the Sang family's house.

In fact, she hadn't seen many nice houses, and couldn't help but laugh at herself.

After settling Sang Tingwan in, Nanxu went home.

On the other side, the Lu family's old house.

In the dignified, retro-style living room, Mr. Lu and Mrs. Lu sat on the sofa.

Sitting on the sofa opposite was a man with slightly graying temples and an ordinary appearance.

Lu Zhiyan stood beside the two elders of the Lu family, coldly watching the man sitting opposite them.

"Mom and Dad, my feelings for Mingyi are genuine. Please grant us your blessing," Lu Ji earnestly pleaded with his parents.

Old Madam Lu's eyes were full of impatience. "Really? If you are willing to give up everything in the Lu family, I will let you get married."

She only believed in sincerity. They were only after the Lu family's money.

Lu Ji was taken aback. "Mom, I'm your biological son." "You're over fifty years old, no longer a young man. Why do you still talk about love and romance all the time?" Old Madam Lu was exasperated.

His son is utterly useless.

In his youth, he was fickle and easily swayed by women. Now, even at his age, he remains fickle and a womanizer.

He actually dares to marry a woman from an entertainment venue these days.

Where does this leave the Lu family's reputation?

Grandpa Lu picked up his teacup, a sharp glint in his weathered eyes. "I usually turn a blind eye to your womanizing ways outside."

"If you dare to act recklessly again, I'll teach you what true restraint is!" With that, he slammed the teacup down on the table.

The hot tea in the teacup was steaming, splashing onto Old Master Lu's hand. But he seemed oblivious, his gaze fixed on Lu Ji.

Lu Ji was startled and trembled twice.

Lu Zhiyan calmly took out a handkerchief from his pocket and respectfully handed it to Old Master Lu.

Grandpa Lu looked at the handkerchief beside him, then at Lu Zhiyan who was holding the handkerchief. He nodded and smiled gently at Lu Zhiyan.

His son was no good, but his grandson was his favorite.

He took the handkerchief from Lu Zhiyan's hand, slowly wiped his hands, and then threw it aside angrily.

"You better remember what I said. If you dare to bring up these trivial matters again, I'll remove you from the family register!" With that, he stood up, glanced at the family register, and left angrily.

Madam Lu shook her head and prepared to leave.

Lu Zhiyan followed Madam Lu and helped her into the room.

Madam Lu often suffers from dizziness, and her conversation with Lu Ji just now triggered it again.

Lu Zhiyan served Madam Lu her medicine before leaving.

Grandpa Lu was waiting for Lu Zhiyan in his study. When Lu Zhiyan came out of the room, Lu Ji was still sitting on the sofa.

As if he had lost his soul, it's no wonder that Lu Ji, at his advanced age, couldn't withstand the wrath of the Lu family elders.

In their youth, the two elders of the Lu family were both prominent figures in the business world.

I don't know what got into her, but she gave birth to such a brainless and fickle idiot as Lu Ji.

Lu Zhiyan glanced at Lu Ji indifferently, then went to his study without saying a word.

Lu Zhiyan walked to the study and knocked on the door. A deep, mature voice came from inside, "Come in."

Lu Zhiyan pushed open the door and entered. Old Master Lu was sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed, smoking a pipe.

"You've arrived?" Old Master Lu slowly opened his closed eyes.

Lu Zhiyan stood respectfully to the side and said, "Grandpa."

Seeing Lu Zhiyan's aloof demeanor, Old Master Lu patted the sofa beside him. "It's just the two of us, why are you so reserved? Come and sit down."

Lu Zhiyan's eyes darkened, and he sat down next to Old Master Lu.

"What brings you to the old house today?" Old Master Lu asked, adding tobacco to his pipe.

"It's nothing, I just wanted to come back and see my parents."

"Zhiyan, you're twenty-seven this year. You're not getting any younger. You should start thinking about your marriage." Old Master Lu took a deep drag on his cigarette.

White smoke filled the room.

Lu Zhiyan nodded. "I know, Grandpa." Lu Zhiyan hesitated again, wondering whether he should tell Grandpa Lu about his relationship with Nan Xu.

Grandpa Lu looked closely and burst out laughing, "Kid, you're hiding something from me."

Lu Zhiyan smiled helplessly; nothing could escape his eyes.

"Yes, I already have a girlfriend, and I'll probably bring her back in a while," Lu Zhiyan said honestly.

Grandpa Lu initially looked understanding, but then became somewhat shocked.

The fact that they brought it back after a while means that the talks have been going on for quite some time.

If this trend continues, his chances of having great-grandchildren are very high.

At his age, he no longer cares about money and power.

He only hoped to be surrounded by his children and grandchildren, enjoying the bliss of family life.

But if he/she is registered in Lu, then let's pretend he/she didn't say anything.
