Dedicate loyalty to the good empire
Chapter 337: Wizard Nemesis Taylor
Chapter 337: Wizard Nemesis Taylor
Old man Bjorn didn't lie. Nothing was good these days, but there was plenty of good wine and meat.
It's a cruel joke in the style of Fenris. This place is clearly a death world, but there is always enough food.
Since the population is always smaller than the food supply, the answer is obvious.
The people of Fenris were accustomed to sadness and separation. They expressed praise for their dead warriors, believing that they would go to the Halls of Valor which belonged to them.
They sang of a place called Valhalla, which they called the palace of the All-Father, and where, according to legend, warriors fought forever.
There is no cold there, only vast green grasslands, golden wheat fields everywhere, good wine and food, lovers and homes.
There are also countless battles, and a body that will never die. It is almost a real paradise.
They sang of those things in ancient songs, and told Tyler again and again that thither went the brave men who died on Fenris, whether they were Skadi or Fenrisian warriors.
Taylor didn't feel bad about this, and was even a little envious.
But he didn't want to try whether there was Valhalla or not.
The Fenris people's praise ceremony was indeed a bit overwhelming for Taylor. When he was lifted up by several big men, people called him using ancient words.
It was Fenris, a language Taylor didn't understand. It sounded a bit like German and the font looked like Finnish, but it was full of guttural, roaring sounds.
After this ceremony, Taylor felt like his whole body was falling apart.
When he returned to his room, he cleaned out the gifts from the Fenrisians, such as tusks bigger than his head, mead he couldn't drink, and a giant elk leg that he absolutely couldn't take away.
Taylor struggled to find his suitcase among the pile of leather-bound gifts.
Two green Imperial uniforms, a small box of explosives, three pairs of underwear, six pairs of socks, a personal self-heating device and a 3-inch portrait of the Emperor himself.
A few pieces of makeshift bulletproof plates and two cans for emergencies.
It wasn't much, just the size of a tactical backpack, but Taylor now understood that the more nomadic you were, the less stuff you would have.
He had put most of his wealth in Macragge, in other words, in the home of that kid Guilliman.
This is not a good thing, after all, Guilliman is not very popular.
God knows whether Ryan will come to bomb Macragge in anger that day.
Thinking of this, Taylor's head began to buzz.
He sighed, packed his backpack and suitcase and prepared to leave.
The starship was ready, and he needed to return to Macragge and tell that bastard Guilliman the news brought by the Thousand Sons.
Taylor felt a little tired at the thought.
He doesn't like to work non-stop, so he will probably apply for a vacation once the plague war is over.
Of course, whether or not this damn break was approved is another matter, and that's something for future Taylor to consider, not him.
Finally, Taylor looked at the animal-skin bed that the Fenris people had prepared for him, and he decided to take a nap.
The main reason was that others were not as fast, and when he could leave, the tablet would definitely ring.
But it seemed as if it was destined by God that his last rest would be interrupted.
A wolf knocked on the door noisily, and Taylor was glad that he still had the courtesy to allow this old friend in.
As the Champion of Fenris entered the room, he said, his teeth bared. "This is truly magnificent. Every son of Russ has brought you a gift. This is quite extravagant."
"It's rare for someone to be liked by all of Fenris. After all, wolves have all sorts of unique personalities, but we probably don't want to owe anyone a favor."
Taylor rubbed his temple. "Favors? Honestly, I'm not taking anything from here. Besides, I don't need any more fuel."
The wolf brother lowered his head and pulled out a few wooden bottles, then gulped down the mead.
He burped and said, "I know, this stuff is not for mortals to drink." "Do you understand what I mean? They call you the wizard killer..."
Taylor said. "Another weird name."
The champion sat down on the ground and said, "Of course, but I didn't expect you to walk so fast."
"I wanted to go hunting with you, to try out that fishing method you invented on Fenris. With a few pieces of rotten meat and a burst of melta, we could take out a sea dragon."
"I also wanted to tell you how we killed the giant bear and practice swordsmanship with you, but now it seems that my plans will be in vain."
He rubbed his greasy face and said, "Guilliman needs you..."
"I can help you. The Wolf Pack can. We are willing to lend our claws and fangs to our friends."
Taylor said. "I'm not helping you to exploit you. Secondly, Fenris needs to deal with the remnants of Chaos here, and they probably don't have the troops to spare."
"Let's be realistic, bro."
"I'm going back to the Five Hundred Worlds. Ultramar is my home."
The wolf laughed. "You have a truly unique taste!"
"That place is so boring!"
Taylor said. "Fenris is it. Everyday here is like the worst day back home, and it always happens at that time."
"There are huge beasts, monsters, and long winters, and in the summer it is a magma hell made of obsidian and death!"
The Fenrisian man laughed. "That's funny!"
Then he stood up and picked up a pendant from his waist. "My friend, this is my gift."
"I'm different from those guys who only know how to give food. I've seen your warehouse and know you're just like a hamster."
"You'll have food to eat, but you'll always feel insecure."
"This rune was carved by a rune priest. It represents good luck and peace. However, the people of Fenris don't like it. But I asked for it specifically for you."
"The price is that I need to collect the best animal bones as materials for the priest."
Taylor looked at the beautiful spiral hieroglyphics before him.
"Like a spiral, a serpent of samsara, a snake biting its tail."
"Are you sure this thing is really auspicious? This milky white bone looks very much like something from the Eldar."
The brother said, "Absolutely auspicious!"
"This is the heart bone of the sea snake you killed. It's as strong as a piece of armor!"
"And that pastor has predicted many great things before. He's absolutely reliable!"
Taylor sighed. "Thanks for the gift, though. I think this is the only thing I'll take from all this junk."
He hung this ornament around his waist. It was the size of a palm and very beautiful.
Of course, he didn't believe in the so-called "blessing", but he did want to take something away from Fenris so that no one would question his visit to Fenris in the future.
Seeing Taylor's acceptance, the wolf brother smiled.
"Then you are half Fenrisian!"
Taylor said regretfully. "Then I want to take it off..."
"I don't want to be a zookeeper again..."
