Chapter 258 Not a Murderer
This person was a female cultivator whom I had rescued in Sun City. I had contacted her once or twice via the communication jade disc, but then we lost contact, and she forgot about her.

She only remembered when she saw the message from this person.

She sent a message but received no response. It was obvious the other person had encountered some insurmountable problem and given up on cultivation, hence the message.

Don't be fooled by her current status as a disciple of Venerable Duan Yi, seemingly enjoying immense prestige; in reality, a whole host of people want to kill her. She's like a clay Bodhisattva crossing a river—unable to offer any real help.

She doesn't have the abilities of a Great Immortal, and she can't even leave her cave yet, so all she can say is: there's nothing I can do to help!

Lanxi was burning paper money in the valley at that moment. After bidding farewell to her friends in the sect, she planned to find a place to live in seclusion near the mortal realm.

Even if one's cultivation level makes little progress, having a lifespan of several hundred years is enough.

After being rescued, she did not heed her benefactor's advice to join that mid-to-high-level sect.

Just then, a small sect was recruiting disciples, and her aptitude was good enough to be a personal disciple, so she entered the sect and became a personal disciple of an elder.

I thought that being a direct disciple in a small sect would bring me preferential treatment in terms of resources, but who knew that the sect was rife with group exclusion.

She didn't want to be that kind of person, so she was naturally ostracized.

Fortunately, she wasn't the one who had the worst life.

The one who suffered the most in the sect was the one she was now worshipping, named Yan'er, whose golden core had been removed and whose heart had been dug out to be used as medicine.

I joined the sect later and didn't know Yan'er's past. I only knew that she was easy-going, had a good temper, and was a very gentle senior sister.

Her gentleness, however, became a reason for her to be bullied in this small sect; no one treated her with much courtesy. In the end, she was even brutally murdered by the person she loved.

She was someone who was ostracized, but she felt warmth from this senior sister, so she helped collect the body after the person died, and erected a tomb and carved a monument for her.

If she doesn't join the sect and bully the weaker ones, then she will be the one being bullied.

Lanxi was unwilling to go against her own conscience, so she had no choice but to leave the sect and depart.

She had just left a minor sect and missed her original sect. She was not young anymore, so what kind of sect could she go to?

Even if I join a small sect, is this the prevailing trend? I might as well just go into seclusion.

She was only going to disappoint the fairy who had once saved her. She didn't achieve anything great, nor did she live a good life.

"Oh, young lady, you don't build tombs here." A pleasant voice rang out, its tone somewhat teasing.

Lanxi looked in the direction of the sound and saw a beautiful woman walking gracefully towards them. She was wearing a light green robe, her hair was styled in a simple bun, and she had a faint smile on her face.

She possessed an ethereal quality, much like a celestial being who had attained enlightenment.

For a moment, Lanxi was so engrossed in watching that by the time she came to her senses, the person was already right in front of her.

"This is the middle of nowhere, why can't we build a tomb here?" Lanxi sensed the woman's strength, but still asked humbly and confidently.

"This is still the territory of that sect. She probably wouldn't like to be buried here, would she?"

Lanxi was stunned for a moment. She had been so focused on burying the person that she hadn't thought about this issue.

"You...who are you to her? How do you know she doesn't like this place?"

Liu Ruyan thought for a moment and replied, "She can be considered my descendant."

"Descendants?" she wondered. She had heard that her senior sister was an orphan, so how could she have an ancestor whose cultivation level she couldn't fathom?

If you have ancestors, why didn't they come to help you while you were alive, but only after you died?

"And what are you to her?" "A friend, of course!" she blurted out instinctively.

“Friend? Since you are a friend of the descendants, are you willing to come with me? There is no future in staying in this kind of sect. Although I am not a good master, the cultivation resources I provide are far better than what you get here.”

Lanxi thought for a moment and then shook her head.

What if you don't know this person who suddenly appears, and if you go with this person, you end up in the same environment?
One should always be wary of others, even though I have nothing left to scheme against now.

"Do you know that rejecting me means missing out on a tremendous opportunity? How many people are desperate to become my personal disciple?"

Lanxi knew for some reason that the other party was quite strong, but she still hated the feeling of being treated with condescension and charity.

It was as if she was taken away because she had received a favor, not because of her talent or comprehension...

She may not have the right to be picky, but she does have the right to refuse.

Seeing the person remain silent, Liu Ruyan did not press the matter. Perhaps the other person was not destined to be her disciple, and she could not force it.

"This is a gift for my future friends. Please accept it." Liu Ruyan used her spiritual power to carry a storage bag to the person, then turned around and disappeared from the spot.

Before Lanxi could even refuse, the person had vanished.

She took the storage bag with both hands and examined the items inside.

Inside were several martial arts manuals, talismans, and spirit stones.

There were a lot of spirit stones, taking up most of the storage bag—ten thousand of them, all of them high-grade spirit stones!

With such a large sum of money, it seems she really missed a tremendous opportunity.

But she was well aware of her own situation and had no regrets. As the saying goes, "What is destined to be yours will be yours, and what is not, you cannot force," these were all her own choices.

With these things, one could live a very comfortable life even in seclusion.

After imprinting her spiritual mark on the storage bag, and seeing the incense and candles burn out, Lanxi knew it was time for her to leave.

She had just stood up when a dozen people suddenly flew down from the sky and surrounded her.

These people were originally my fellow disciples, what do they mean by this?
"What do you all mean?" she asked, drawing her sword immediately.

"Hmph! Senior Brother and Junior Sister died tragically on their wedding night. We investigated the murderer and found you here building a tomb for this ungrateful wretch. We suspect you killed Senior Brother and Junior Sister for her sake and will take you back for questioning!"

Upon hearing the news of the two men's deaths, Lan Xi was initially shocked, but then felt a sense of satisfaction at the evildoers being punished.

"If you want to find fault, you can always find a reason. I will not go back with you!"

"That's not up to you!" The leader gestured, and everyone drew their swords.

Just as Lanxi was preparing to fight her way out of the encirclement, the female cultivator from before descended from the sky and appeared beside her.

"I killed him, don't frame someone else."

Upon hearing this, Lan Xi turned her head in surprise. It was already surprising that the female cultivator would admit to murder, but what she said next was even more shocking.

“I only killed the two most heinous criminals, and I didn’t kill all of you accomplices. You should be grateful and thankful.”

"Who are you to dare utter such arrogant words? Today you will die here to avenge our senior brother and junior sister!"

As if she had heard a joke, Liu Ruyan easily trapped the two of them in a barrier with her hand. Her imposing aura forced those people to kneel down.

She concealed her cultivation level for convenience, which is why these people couldn't see her strength.
