Chapter 130 Fighting
After the trial, Gotham City is in a state of flux. Falcone discovers that changing the chessboard does seem to make it easier to take down the Maroni family without bloodshed; the Maroni family discovers that if they want revenge, their only hope of turning the tables is to drag Falcone down with the help of the judicial system; and the people in the court discover that the amount of money that can be easily scalded seems to be increasing recently, making them less and less willing to take it.

After that conversation in prison, Luigi learned the details of the whole incident from his son, and a few days later, he was back in prison again.

"Maroni, from today on, you have to remember that Harvey Dent will be our ally. I, Luigi, am so old, and now I have to go to the prosecutor who put my son in jail and seek his cooperation. Do you know how ugly this is?"

Maroni looked up in surprise, his tone full of confusion.

"Dad?! Why—"

"Why do you say that? Outside of the courtroom, without you and your available men, how can we deal with Falcone? It's ridiculous that our best hope for a comeback is Gotham's judicial system and that District Attorney."

After a long silence, Maroni spoke hatefully to Luigi.

"Dad, I can understand the family teaming up with Harvey Dent to deal with Falcone, but there are two traitors who must be dealt with."

"Luigi, if you want to work with me, you can't hurt my two friends."

"Harvey Dent, don't push your luck. You should know very well that a vendetta is more hateful than an ordinary enemy, and a traitor is more hateful than a vendetta."

In the Gotham District Attorney's office, Harvey Dent, wearing a white suit, and Luigi Maroni, who had dyed his hair back to black, were negotiating.

"Vernon and Jenkins are both law-abiding, hardworking people. I can't bear to see you use illegal means against them. You have to understand that I am the District Attorney of Gotham City."

"Law-abiding? Conscientious?" Luigi asked with a sneer, "Why didn't those two traitors think of abiding by the law when they took the money? Why didn't they think of being conscientious when they deleted the surveillance footage?"

Harvey lowered his head, a barely perceptible smile flashed in his eyes, and then he fell silent.

Seeing the other party's silence, Luigi continued, "Maroni spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on them. This amount alone is enough to send them to prison. According to you, those two swordsmen only came to you after a change of heart. What they did and the crimes they broke were all real. Why would you help them?"

"No." Harvey hesitated for a moment, then shook his head. "Either way, their crimes aren't punishable by death. If you want me to help you, I can't resort to illegal means to solve the problem."

"Harvey Dent!" Luigi said in a deep voice, "You must know that Falcone and I don't want to repeat the St. Patrick's Day incident, so we decided to resolve the dispute without bloodshed. I don't want to break this tacit agreement—not that I can't, but that I don't want to."

Harvey frowned tightly, and looking at his expression, Luigi knew that his threat had worked and the prosecutor had begun to waver.

"I'll take another step back," he said. "Since you claim to be Gotham's district attorney, I will not retaliate further. I will only prosecute these two men for all their illegal crimes. Attorney Harvey, I hope you will enforce the law impartially."

Hearing Luigi's words, Harvey clenched his fists, pursed his lips, and his brows were almost twisted into a knot. Obviously, Luigi hit his sore spot.

"This idiot will agree." Luigi saw the struggle on his face and thought to himself, "It's because he's a prosecutor that he can't protect the crimes of Vernon and Jenkins."

".I promise you."

After struggling for a long time, Harvey finally compromised dejectedly: "But you have to swear to help me deal with the Falcone family with all your strength." "Even if you don't say it, I will do it." Luigi waved his hand: "You are a very honest prosecutor, Mr. Harvey."

"I hope we can cooperate happily."

Things like anger are often caused by provocation.

The two hot-tempered gangs in Gotham City began to fight in court. Things began to get out of control when Maroni was imprisoned and sentenced to 30 years.

The first to suffer was Falcone's poison network
"Pun Falcone, trafficking in large quantities of new exclusive drugs, and guilty of intentional homicide and rape, sentenced to 114 years in prison."

"Ryan Adams, trafficking in large quantities of new and unique drugs, and guilty of intentional homicide and rape, sentenced to 51 years in prison."

A large number of verdicts are omitted below. If I had to describe the Maroni family's first wave of offensive in one sentence, it might be "pulling out the carrot brings out the mud."

No one knows the Falcone family better than his old rival Luigi, so this round of attack is quite comprehensive and effective, covering almost most of the core members of the drug network working for the Falcone family.

"I want that old guy dead!"

Falcone slammed his fist on the desk in front of him, gnashing his teeth and saying, "And that Harvey Dent! He messed up my business and sued my family—I really should have gotten rid of him sooner!"

"Dad, do we want to?"

Sophia was behind him, wiping her neck.

"That idiot is just a gun. They can easily find another one. And we can't do anything now - because that shameless old man will definitely start using the police station to deal with the people we send. Once the two sides fight, no matter who wins, he will win."

"Then us"

"We have also filed a lawsuit, and that old man doesn't dare to use force now."

Ollie Maloney was convicted of selling numerous handguns and rifles to thousands of adults under the age of 21 and was convicted of murder, rape, and illegal possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to 135 years in prison.

"Leonie Maroni, up a thousand"

A large amount of sentencing is omitted below. Falcone's counterattack can perhaps be described as "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth."

Next, Gotham City's courts and jails were almost filled with people from the two major gangs - Falcone's drug network and Maroni's guns, Falcone's human trafficking and Maroni's smuggling network, Falcone's numerous casinos and Maroni's numerous money and sex trading places.
The fight between the two sides cannot be said to be fatal, but it can at least be described as bloody. Due to the large number of criminals, the Wayne Group even funded the government to start building new large prisons.

Until one day, Maroni's lawsuit turned to Falcone's thugs, and the name "Sofia Falcone" was on the list.
