Chapter 283 Is this the strength of the Metropolis?

"One disaster a day, no minor disasters, only major and catastrophic disasters. That's the level of our T0 region's metropolis."

Faced with the Metropolitan's seamless and intense efforts to stir up trouble, Ma Zhaodi couldn't help but sigh.

In the video, Superman's figure appears and flies towards the sky—Ma Zhaodi isn't worried about what will happen to him after he rushes into the storm, because if he really dies, then Metropolis probably won't need to do a third day's report.

Unaware of the cause, the origin, or the purpose—to all the residents of the metropolis, this disaster came out of nowhere, and the only certainty was that it did not appear to be a mild and harmless natural phenomenon.

At this moment, Drake and Camilla sat in their newly rented house in the suburbs, staring blankly at the dark clouds that were gradually spreading overhead.

"I think the suburbs might not be very safe either."

"It's alright. Whether it's the eye of the storm or the city center, we'll definitely be among the last to go down."

After Superman flew into the storm, everyone was praying.

After the sky changed color, there was no difference between day and dusk, or night. People could only tell how much time had passed by relying on the time displayed on their electronic devices. According to reports, Superman stayed inside for about twenty or thirty hours. Because of the long time, the middle part was not recorded completely, only some photos and oral accounts from citizens were available.

“I heard a huge noise in the sky,” the black woman with dreadlocks stated. “It was louder than thunder, and very loud. I felt like it was Superman fighting bad guys up there.”

"The sky hasn't changed much since then." The middle-aged man in a suit sighed. "I was hoping Superman would win, but he actually did, and that's when I realized I was too happy too soon."

"Anyway, it was a loud bang, like a super giant bomb." A young student holding a book guessed into the microphone: "It might be comparable to a nuclear explosion, I don't know—anyway, after the explosion, the sky returned to normal, and a lot of building debris fell from the clouds, but they all disappeared before they hit the ground, as if they evaporated—but those debris were really big, and you couldn't tell what materials they were made of."

Ma Zhaodi read the report, which concluded by describing the battle: a female mage named Alasazar used her staff in conjunction with her massive magic array to steal Superman's power and used some of the energy to construct her own enormous palace above the city.

Superman was almost sucked dry, but he finally found a chance to smash Alassa's staff, otherwise Metropolis would have been sent away again.

"I just don't understand." Ma Zhaodi looked at the report over and over again: "Where the hell did all these supermodel-like mechanics come from? I've heard that Superman is weak to magic, but can he really be this weak?"

"And this Alazarsa, I've never heard of him before. Is he a famous villain from some comic book?"

He racked his brains for a long time, but he couldn't recall any information related to this at all.

"Okay, whatever, at least this wasn't one of those super-major events I remember, and things were resolved satisfactorily."

Ma Zhaodi was completely bewildered when he exited the news and turned his attention back to yesterday's story—Logically speaking, Superman and that woman had been fighting for so long, it should have been the next day by now. In other words, Superman had just dealt with Alazarsa when something else happened in Metropolis.

"It's not Drake's fault at all," Ma Zhaodi thought to himself. "If it were me, I would have run away the next day—if I could have."

He then clicked on the report for the third day.

A terrifying earth and rock monster is approaching the metropolis, and a massive tornado nearly destroys the city!

"Great," Ma Zhaodi thought to himself, "The Metropolis really has something going on. Could it be that the Sand People from next door have come over?"

He clicked on the video link attached to the news report again, and then finally smiled with relief.

In the wilderness outside the metropolis, a terrifying tornado was moving towards the city center. It stretched from the sky to the ground, sweeping up everything in its path, leaving behind a trail of flying sand and stones, and destroying everything in its wake.

Vast swathes of grass and animals were swept up in this terrifying whirlwind, which was accompanied by occasional thunder and lightning.

"Roar!"

A face formed of mud and boulders appeared at the top of the storm, roaring angrily at the distant city. Clearly, this was not a naturally formed hurricane.

So what do the citizens of the metropolis think about this?
"No"

Drake and Camilla stood on the grass, staring blankly as the Storm Earth Giant slowly moved toward them. Every few meters it moved, a large amount of earth and stone was sucked into its body, making it grow bigger and bigger—and at this moment, it was already as big as several Godzillas.

After a few seconds of silence, Drake spoke.

"Camilla?"

"what happened?"

"I want to move."

"it is good."

"Central City?"

"it is good."

"Book the plane tickets now, forget about the luggage."

"it is good."

The two ran back into the house as fast as they could ever go, quickly grabbed the cash, credit cards, and other valuables, and then drove off into the metropolis without looking back.

They walked with unwavering determination, as if they had made up their minds.

At that moment, a splash of bright red finally appeared in the camera's field of vision.

"It's Superman! Ladies and gentlemen! Superman has come to stop that storm monster!"

The reporter in the helicopter cheered and jumped for joy in front of the camera. As a metropolis resident, he had become accustomed to being protected by such an omnipotent superhero—the sense of security that a god among men brought was simply too strong.

After Superman rushed into the storm, Ma Zhaodi could see him using every means to fight the giant. The red beam was heat vision, the white wind pressure was ice breath, and the flying debris was from his punches. And the earth giant actually started punching Superman.

"It has a mind!" Superman dodged the giant's fist in a flash, shouting, "I can't kill him! Stranger!"

Ma Zhaodi paused the video.

"Who is Stranger?" He scratched his head and looked at every corner of the screen.

Subway, elderly person, mobile phone.jpg
My head is so itchy, it feels like my brain is growing out.

"Could it be a superhero from the mystical side?"

Thinking of this, Ma Zhaodi used his magic to open his third eye—and when he looked at the screen again, he indeed saw a mysterious figure wearing a dark blue cloak appear on the screen.

“No, Superman.” The stranger on the screen shook his head.

"There are no living beings in there, only the souls of the deceased."
