Starting from scratch, Batman crushed my dream of getting rich

Chapter 481 Still, I haven't suffered enough losses.
"What are you laughing at?" The butcher who came to open the door couldn't help but ask, looking at the smile on Ma Zhaodi's face.
"It's nothing, I just thought of something happy."
Ma Zhaodi waved his hand and walked into the safe house. Looking back at the butcher who had locked the door with four locks, his smile widened.
The butcher led Ma Zhaodi through the living room to the basement door of the safe house. He opened the door, and a downward staircase appeared before them.
The air rising from the basement was somewhat murky and carried a strange odor. With his keen sense of smell, Ma Zhaodi could detect the dried blood and medicinal smell mixed in with it.
The butcher probably often treats wounds or people here.
"Let's go, are you afraid of the dark?"
The butcher's face showed a mocking smile. Ever since he suffered a loss at Ma Zhaodi's hands last time, he has been in a state of being uncomfortable if he doesn't criticize.
Ma Zhaodi ignored him and followed the butcher towards the basement. The heavy footsteps creaked on the wooden stairs, and the butcher immediately listened.
Something seems off.
He looked back carefully, but there was only Ma Zhaodi behind him. It seemed that the commotion just now was made by the two of them.
"What are you standing there for?" Ma Zhaodi asked. "Are you afraid of the dark? Should I go first?"
"Damn it."
The butcher was speechless after Ma Zhaodi retorted with his own words, so he walked straight down the street with a dark face and didn't look back for another second.
The two finally went down to the basement. Ma Zhaodi looked around and saw that there were many basic medical supplies in the basement, such as bandages, dressings, alcohol, canned food, and water.
But apart from that, they couldn't find any documents or guns for a while; the butcher was very careful in hiding these truly important things.
"Alright, get to the point quickly, I don't have time for riddles," the Butcher asked Ma Zhaodi directly.
"Agree on the price first."
Surprisingly, the hot-tempered butcher didn't get angry at this request. As someone who walked the gray and black lines, he had long been accustomed to the rules of the underground.
Ma Zhaodi's demand for a price actually made him feel at ease, because this was always his way of doing things.
“It depends on how useful the information you provide is,” he replied. “If it’s just some common, worthless stuff or fake information, then forget about the money and get the hell out of here.”
"Was the Baltimore mayor's private conversation with Madeline Stivell effective enough?"
Ok?
The butcher subconsciously licked his lips. Of course he knew who Madeline Stivell was, and he also knew that such high-level secrets and sordid deals were sometimes involved.
This kid has something real.
“Go on,” he said calmly. “It may not be useful, but it’s worth listening to.”
“That’s useful,” Ma Zhaodi replied. “First, agree on the price.”
Seeing the butcher's dissatisfaction and his apparent desire to negotiate, Ma Zhaodi added, "You need to think this through. The first condition I propose is usually the best. Before your argumentative personality kicks in, you'd better think about the last situation."
These words immediately reminded the butcher of the last time Ma Zhaodi had spoken to him—the first time he wanted a secret conversation, which he refused; the second time, even without his gun, he still tried to attack; and the third time, his arm was dislocated.
Then his temper flared up again.
“Now you’re the one coming to me to sell information, not the other way around,” he said to Ma Zhaodi. “After you’ve told me the information, I’ll make an offer.”
Ma Zhaodi wasn't surprised by his answer. The butcher had only run into trouble with him once so far, so naturally he had complete faith in the principles he had upheld to survive. "He hasn't suffered enough losses yet."
"What?"
"It's nothing. Since you insist, I'll just get straight to the point."
Ma Zhaodi said, "To put it simply, Superman overheard the conversation between the Mayor of Baltimore and Madeline at Vought International. Madeline was asking for $300 million a year in exchange for the Nubian Prince, a superhero, to be stationed in Baltimore for three years, and to give the Mayor of Baltimore a share of the profits."
"Useless news."
"After that, the mayor of Baltimore countered with two hundred million and mentioned Compound V, saying that this stuff could make all the heroes of Vought International pale in comparison, after which the conversation ended."
"Compound No. 5"
The butcher carefully considered the word; in his memory, despite having followed the Water Company for so many years, he had never heard of this thing before.
"It sounds like something he made up to fool people."
"A mayor made up some random words during a private meeting with the Water Company to try and lower the price?" Ma Zhaodi shook his head: "Then he must really have a lot of free time."
There is some truth to this statement.
“Your information is somewhat useful, I’ll give you thirty thousand dollars,” the butcher said. “There’s no room for negotiation. This is the only useful word you have, and it’s not even complete. I’m already being very generous.”
“You’re quite wealthy.” Ma Zhaodi casually glanced around the dimly lit basement and slowly walked to the table where medical supplies were placed. “But you don’t need to pay for it; this information is free.”
The butcher was stunned.
"Free?" he countered. "Why?"
“As I said, the conditions I offered the first time were basically the best.” Ma Zhaodi picked up the iodine on the table, unscrewed the cap and sniffed it. “As for now, you have already chosen the second payment option, so I don’t plan to charge you any more money.”
The butcher still didn't understand, but seeing the increasingly sinister smile on Ma Zhaodi's face, he immediately felt an ominous premonition, which grew stronger and stronger. He asked again, "What do you mean?"
"This message itself is the price to pay."
As they were talking, Ma Zhaodi suddenly turned around and splashed the iodine solution in his hand. The pale yellow disinfectant, with its pungent smell, sprayed out but did not land directly on the floor. Instead, it hung in the air, outlining a vague human figure.
"f**k!"
"f**k!"
Two angry curses rang out at the same time. The Invisible Man was shocked to find that Ma Zhaodi had suddenly seen through his stealth. His mind was reeling, and he stood there dumbfounded. The Butcher, on the other hand, quickly remembered the strange footsteps on the stairs when the two of them went down to the basement. He immediately recognized the person in front of him.
"Damn it, he's invisible!"
He instantly drew a pistol from his waist, aimed it at the invisible man, and pulled the trigger.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
A barrage of nine-millimeter bullets rained down on the transparent man's head and heart. Once he confirmed that the man was a superhuman, the butcher would go all out to kill him, because he knew that if he didn't, he would most likely be the one to die.
clang! clang!
Sparks flew and bullets flew everywhere. The firearms, which could turn an ordinary person into a sieve, couldn't even hurt the invisible man, or leave a mark on his skin.
This also made the invisible man, who was originally trying to escape, stop in his tracks.
"This organization seems to only have two ordinary people?"
