Chapter 362 Gwen is so worried about you guys

In the library of Rhine Cathedral, Beatrice unconsciously clenched her fist. The day she returned from the ranks of the starving people, she secretly vowed that one day she would climb to the top, wield great power, and have the ability to change everything so that starving people would never appear in the world again.

She knew her idea was naive and ridiculous, but she was a stubborn person and wanted to give it a try.

This willpower broke through the high walls of reality, making her an extraordinary being, and also causing her to blindly worship Hughes—he truly changed the world single-handedly, even if it was just an island.

She had never told anyone these things, but willpower is like a sharp blade; even if you keep it in your pocket, it can still cut open and reveal its cold glint unexpectedly.

Every extraordinary person has broken through the heavy reality with their willpower, broken free from the shackles of the world, and gained power in the process.

The link was completely silent. Ken felt as if something was gripping his heart, making it hard to breathe. He felt he should be angry, but all he felt was confusion.

Zoe didn't speak; her eyes dimmed slightly as she recalled the scene she had witnessed.

The scepter: "However, it's not entirely a strict correspondence—for those with extremely strong wills, one soul can be worth more than many, such as those who are extraordinary."

The Scepter: "When the [Mother of Compassion] loses control, she can induce extraordinary individuals to sacrifice themselves willingly. Generally, one extraordinary individual is enough; I don't know about the situation you described."

Scepter: "That's all I know. I hope it helps."

The link was broken.

Gwen snapped out of her daze and found herself not far from the battlefield. All her [Friends] had materialized, trying to distract [Mother] and relieve some of the pressure on the Guardians of the Faith.

Gwen, you're back.

"Yes, you all know what Sister Scepter just said, right?"

Somewhat absentmindedly, Gwen regained control of her body from Little Gwen and looked up at the tower not far away.

A thread was pointing down from the sky, and she knew it was the author.

The pure white unicorn came running up, panting, and looked solemnly into Gwen's eyes, saying, "Gwen, don't sacrifice yourself. Everyone is very worried about you."

Gwen looked at its serious expression and couldn't help but chuckle: "Why would I sacrifice myself? Bloodharbor isn't my home. If you ask me, this decaying city should be smashed to pieces. Let others go and die. Do I look like someone who would sacrifice myself?"

"what?"

Your friends are here; you would give your life for them.

Gwen opened her mouth, but couldn't utter a rebuttal.

Finally, with a complicated expression, she turned around and said, "I didn't really consider them friends. Anyway, I'll try to tell my mother-in-law about these things first."

Her superhuman abilities had not yet been revealed. Gwen thought for a moment, then leaped a few times in the shadows and threw a pebble toward a small alley.

"Little Gwen, that tower over there—"

The armored girl nodded, drew her longsword, and slashed it towards the tower.

In the alley, a pebble suddenly fell beside the old woman, startling her. This was her true body; she had been hiding here, using her clone to fight the giant monster. Had her true body been discovered?
This was no small matter. The Fire-Chasing Moth had extremely poor direct combat capabilities, and being exposed in its true form almost meant certain death. The old woman immediately withdrew her consciousness and became fully vigilant around her.

At that moment, a surge of extraordinary power suddenly swept through the air towards the tower not far away. The old woman instinctively looked in that direction, then exclaimed in surprise, "Zoe? Josh?"

How did those two end up there?
The alley was no longer safe, and the old woman had a sudden thought. A moment later, she appeared on the tower.

The old woman in the alley swayed, gradually flattened, and slowly fell down, blown by the wind to a pair of somewhat worn fur boots.

Gwen looked down from the tower, glanced at her "grandmother" at her feet, and muttered to herself.

"My mother-in-law already knows; the next one is the prince."

"They're in the southeast. I just saw the harbor guards," a multicolored black crow called out to Gwen from overhead.

"Alright, I'll leave this to you. Just deal with [the loving mother] for now. Let the prince consider the matter of sacrifice. Adults should handle their own affairs." She muttered as she quickly leaped out of the shadows.

Up in the tower, the old woman and Josh listened to Zoe's story with very strange expressions.

"You mean you suddenly remembered this knowledge?" Josh tugged at her hair, wincing in pain. "Grandma, I think she might be hallucinating from being scared. Let's not believe her."

"I understand." The mother-in-law gave Zoe a deep look. "I will inform the prince. I trust you."

Zoe's face lit up with joy, then she said with a hint of guilt, "I'm sorry, there's no time to explain. I'll tell you everything later."

The mother-in-law nodded. Indeed, the situation was very urgent. She now had to attract the attention of the "loving mother" while searching for the prince, or let Zoe and the others talk to the prince themselves, but whether he would believe her was another matter.

Suddenly, her eyes sharpened, and she grabbed the two of them and darted to the side.

Another slash came, exactly the same as the one she had just seen. The slash lost its power when it reached the tower. Thinking of what had just happened, the old woman's face twitched, and she looked outside.

Galahad was holding the greatsword, looking in their direction with surprise.

The old woman turned to look at the "Compassionate Mother" and discovered that whenever she tried to attack the Guardians of the Faith, several inexplicable attacks would interrupt her actions, slightly easing the Guardians' situation.

"It seems we have another ally who doesn't want to show his face, or perhaps more than one."

Holding off the "compassionate mother," finding the prince, and luring him over—these are things that no one person can do alone. Even a fire-chasing moth like the grandmother, who can split herself into multiple bodies, would find it difficult to accomplish, let alone the fact that the other side can detect her location. Judging from the battlefield, her frontal combat capabilities are not weak either.

Suddenly, the old woman felt as if she had encountered an entire squad of extraordinary beings. The Vatican had once assembled such a lineup when the Firemoth was being hunted by the Candlelight Society, and that was a nightmare.
Galahad was very cautious and did not come over, but stood guard not far from the prince, only waving his hand in their direction.

The old woman closed her eyes, then opened them again after a while, looking at Galahad and the prince standing in front of her.

"We're in trouble, big trouble."

"Is it a monster from over there?"

The prince pointed to his loving mother.
