Chapter 709 Monica-type Vehicle
Beatrice's gaze lingered on the crater with reluctance. She felt the increasing gravity and knew that this short journey was probably coming to an end.

Fortunately, once you cross the volcano, you'll reach the ocean, and she's quite good at swimming.

I glanced at Monica next to me. She had a snake tail, so she must be quite good at swimming.

Monica was messing around with something.

"Is it about to slow down? So which one is the brake?"

"Brake? What brake? I'm signaling to the ground air defense team. They're so excited right now. They finally have an aerial target. I just saw the gun barrels move over!"

Beatrice was taken aback. Air defense? This term was somewhat beyond her knowledge.

However, she still recognized the dark gun barrel on the ground.

"Then what should we do?"

"All done!"

Monica pulled the lever next to her seat, and a small white flag popped out from behind her seat with a "snap," while the jet propulsion device behind the seat began to emit white smoke.

Beatrice: "."

“This is the latest type of IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) device.” Monica nodded in satisfaction as she watched the air defense team on the ground reluctantly move their guns.

The deceleration parachute behind them gradually floated upwards, and soon, with two "plop" sounds, Beatrice and Monica fell into the sea together.

Beatrice surfaced from the sea a moment later, wiped her face, and prepared to cut Beatrice's seatbelt and bring her down.

But she was soon surprised to find that several sirens were already waiting in the sea, dressed in emergency team attire, and had just rescued Beatrice.

"You've come to help?"

Monica greeted them and was about to say something when her expression suddenly changed, and she grabbed Beatrice and ran away.

"W-what's wrong?" Beatrice was pulled onto the sea.

It really floated up; the sirens swam faster than jet skis on Earth. Beatrice glided across the surface, feeling like she was skipping stones. She was the one being skipped.

The sea breeze and seawater hitting her head made it hard for her to open her eyes, so she could only ask Monica for help.

"Nini's here! She's a reporter!"

"Reporters? What's so scary about reporters?" Beatrice was a little confused. She had seen reporters and newspapers before in the Rhine.

"Let me tell you this—she's a legendary journalist."

Beatrice immediately understood and became nervous. She didn't know anything else, but the legendary doctor had already taken her to heaven. What kind of terrifying existence must the legendary reporter be?

Damn, how come there are so many legends about Castel?
She looked with some concern at the rearview mirror on Monica's shoulder—the one that had just been on the car door and gotten caught in her hair; it was one of the few remaining parts of the car.

In the rearview mirror, a figure was also speeding across the sea at an extremely fast speed, leaving a white wave in its wake.

If you look closely, you'll see she's also holding a notebook and a camera.

"Is that a legendary reporter? She really knows how fast she runs!" Beatrice exclaimed. "And she actually managed to take these things into the sea?"

"She's a banshee, she can control the water so it doesn't get on her. Ouch, why are you pulling my hair?!"

Monica turned and glared at Beatrice, who gave an awkward laugh and said, "Sorry, I just grabbed it and mistook it for the accelerator." "This should be the brake!" Monica shouted angrily. She had slowed down a bit because of the pain and was about to be overtaken.

Beatrice glanced at the rearview mirror and suddenly felt nervous.

Monica doesn't swim as fast as Nini!
She quickly discovered the problem—Monica was holding onto her, and Beatrice's foredeck was clearly not flat enough, resulting in significant water resistance.

It's only a matter of time before they catch up!
Beatrice was extremely anxious and instinctively began to think of a solution, but she didn't have much experience with things going wrong and couldn't come up with a solution for the time being.

"What should we do? Think quickly, think quickly!"

As her brain raced, a jumble of fragmented memories surfaced, and her eyes suddenly lit up.

She seemed to have found a way, but the memory came from...
"Air resistance is far lower than water resistance, by orders of magnitude. That means as soon as I leave the water, Monica can immediately pick up speed!"

This is very basic physics knowledge, but it was taught by a mysterious being—this is from the eerie whispered story Beatrice heard!

Hughes's physics lessons were put to use in a way he could never have imagined!
"What are you muttering about?" Monica turned around, about to say something to Beatrice, when her expression suddenly changed: "What, what are you doing?"

Beatrice, clutching her scales and hair, climbed out of the water and stood on her!
Beatrice is now standing on Monica in the sea, trying to maintain her balance, and from a distance it looks like she's surfing.

Monica's cruising speed immediately increased. She and Nini were both banshees, and their innate abilities were not affected by their size; they were both equally fast.

However, water resistance is affected by body size.

Monica is much smaller than Nini, so the resistance is naturally lower. Even with Beatrice riding on her, she is still much faster than Nini!

The sirens on the side were stunned. Suddenly, someone clapped, and soon, three times the amount of applause rang out from the sea!

"sharp."

"You can even ride Monica at high speeds!"

"genius."

"Seriously, it makes me want to ride Monica surfing!"

"Shh, keep your voice down, don't let Tata see. He managed to create the Nine Serpents Pulling the Coffin last time, and he might just create a new ship powered by Monica this time."

"It's alright, Tata doesn't dare to go into the sea. The Steel Ark beats him up every time it sees him, and the machine spirits on it have long disliked him."

As soon as Nini behind Monica and Beatrice saw that the interview was about to fly away, she made various hand gestures, and soon a series of water arrows flew over.

Although banshees have never been used much, they do possess some magical abilities.
Monica glanced at the rearview mirror and immediately yelled, "Are you a sore loser?! Why are you making it a prop race?!"

After saying that, she yelled at Beatrice, "Fight back! Hit her!"

Beatrice froze, then pointed at herself: "Beat her up? Me?"

[Investigator] As a superhuman, his abilities are actually quite comprehensive, but he doesn't really have any ranged attack capabilities.

Otherwise, the mother-in-law wouldn't have been able to kill the investigators so easily; they had come to fight them themselves.

Unfortunately, Beatrice herself didn't have a Dragon Breath Cannon, but she seemed to be able to transform into one herself.

Beatrice glanced back at Nini's location, took a deep breath, and puffed out her cheeks.
