Chapter 775 Retreat
"Evacuate from the Dark River, taking the Untouchables with you!" Ash's voice was as calm as ever, but Nini could detect a hint of urgency in it.

The banshees now have less than half of their life pool remaining, meaning that almost all of them are in a state of near-serious injury, and their combat power has declined significantly compared to the beginning.

Even at their peak, they were still being dominated by Jules.

Even if the banshees can recover, there won't be another "Big Guy," especially since this is the Rhineland, and the Holy See's support will probably arrive soon.

The harbinger banshees had no choice but to retreat.

"Stay around me, take a deep breath, and hold it!"

On the banks of the underground river, the banshees hurriedly led the untouchables away. These subterranean people were actually quite good swimmers, but far inferior to the banshees. Each banshee grabbed many untouchables and then carried them directly from the water.

Chaos reigned behind them, with the roar of "Big Guy" mixed with Jules' manic laughter, and occasionally the sickening scraping of metal.

"Big Guy can't hold on much longer, we, uh," Frey shouted anxiously, but when he turned to look at the banshee, he instinctively flinched.

Only by standing in front of them could one truly appreciate just how enormous these banshees were; Frey had to jump to reach Nini's waist.

Such a powerful warrior, yet he couldn't defeat Yu Lemo.
“Little Bu told me about you. You’re coming with me.” Nini hung her weapon back on her armor, stretched out her six hands to grab a group of Untouchables, and, along with Frey, leaped straight into the water.

One by one, the banshees jumped into the dark river. Ash was the last one. Just as she was about to leap into the river, a loud bang came from behind her.

[The Big Guy] has been dismantled into a pile of scrap metal by Jules. There is a large hole in its chest, and on the other side of the hole, Jules is quietly looking in this direction.

The choir around him had completely disappeared, leaving only white robes scattered on the ground—the robes worn by the choir members—with black stains slowly seeping out from them.

Ash's eyes flickered, and her grip on her weapon tightened subtly.

"Give my regards to Lord Hughes," Jules said softly.

The next moment, he suddenly raised the gun in his hand and fired!
Ash dodged to the side, then her eyes widened slightly.

One of her arms, along with the heavy gauntlet, was blasted off; Jules' speed was unimaginable!

Ash abandoned any thought of continuing the fight, turned and jumped into the river. Several more bullets flew in, quickly lost momentum after hitting the water, and slowly sank.

Jules walked step by step to the edge of the underground river, where Ash was no longer there.

A crashing sound came from behind, and after a while, several priests came to Jules' side.

"The time hasn't come yet, why did you come down early?"

"Your Majesty, we heard something amiss down below, so we came."

Jules turned around and looked coldly at the priest beside him: "I said, I'll come down after everything is over."

"Yes, Your Majesty!" The priest staggered a few steps in fright, and was about to say something when Jules had already turned and left.

"Fill this cave with cement and seal it completely."

"Yes!"

Blood Harbor.

Blood Harbor, usually so orderly, was in disarray today. Several cargo ships bound for Castells were urgently requisitioned, carrying a large amount of supplies. An unprecedented curfew was even imposed that night, with all the night watchmen patrolling the streets. What people didn't know was that the underground of Blood Harbor was even busier than the surface.

"Seal off the cracks here too. There are several large underground river entrances in Sector K, and we need to send people to keep an eye on them!"

Zoe rubbed her temples wearily, found an open space, and sat down to rest.

Since Monica brought back the news, Bloodharbor has been in a state of emergency.

The banshees stationed at Bloodharbor and Castel were urgently conscripted, and a large amount of supplies were transported to the relay node. The Faith Guardians were also ready for battle.

Zoe was assigned to investigate all adjacent nodes of the sewers and underground rivers, and also to assess the possibility of an attack.

In addition to the sewer maintenance workers, a fully armed squad of religious guards also accompanied them.

"Hodge, is it really possible that the candlelight could travel down the underground river?" Zoe looked around to make sure no one was watching, then secretly took off her helmet, causing her long hair, which had been coiled inside the helmet, to fall down.

Anyone entering the construction site is required to wear a safety helmet, especially in the sewers. It's not so much for protection, but mainly to prevent head injuries.

Since no one was patrolling, she picked it off for a while.

Hodge glanced at her helplessly and sighed, "We can't rule out that possibility. We can go to the Rhine via the underground river, and they might be able to come too, especially since we fought the Banshee this time. The Vatican might be able to track the Banshee all the way here."

Zoe thought for a moment, then nodded: "That makes sense. Their [investigators] do seem to be very good at tracking down what you heard about, right?"

"what's up?"

"That's right. Their Pope Jules can create things out of thin air and repelled the two squads led by Ash." Zoe lowered her voice. "I don't know much about combat, but Ash's squad must be very strong, right?"

Hodge smiled, but didn't answer directly: "What do you think of our team?"

Zoe peered out and saw that Hodge's squad of friars was patrolling the sewers. There were more than a dozen of them, with both light and heavy firepower, and they looked very elite.

"Are you also very powerful?"

"My squad is a standard combat team, consisting of one sniper, three grenadiers, two machine gunners, three assault soldiers, three riflemen, and one observer."

"Ten such combat squads, plus the logistics team, make up a company. They can independently undertake combat missions, stand alone on the battlefield, and hold the line."

"Do you know what the outcome would be if a company, fully equipped and well-coordinated, were to fight a fully armed Banshee head-on?"

"What?" Zoe listened with great interest.

"In all the combat exercises, the Banshee can wipe out the entire company without taking any damage. If it were a real battlefield where we were fighting to the death, we might be able to barely manage to injure the Banshee."

"Such a big difference?" Zoe was taken aback.

In her imagination, the combat strength of a banshee should be six people, since they have six arms.
"That's the difference. Banshees move extremely fast, making it almost impossible for us to aim at them. We can only use firepower to cover them. On the other hand, the Banshee Armor is completely immune to light weapons damage, and heavy weapons have a hard time penetrating it."

"Thirty of these banshees, working together, were defeated by Pope Jules."
