Chapter 12 We Are Just a Group of Farmers

Three days passed in the blink of an eye. Fang Yan calculated that it was nearly half a month before Aliat asked him to submit the manuscript, and it was almost time to send it over.

So Fang Yan completed the last part of the article, checked it carefully again, sent it to Ariat's special receiving address, and then fell asleep.

After all, for Fang Yan, sleep is the top priority in life. It not only allows him to receive data and knowledge from the mysterious civilization, but is also a process of exploration and learning.

No matter how busy he is, Fang Yan will make sure he gets at least ten hours of sleep every day. Sometimes he even spends most of the day lying in bed.

This situation was observed by Brown who was standing next to him. He felt that this young man Fang Yan was good in every way except that he was too lazy. He slept when others were sleeping, and he was still sleeping when others were working hard.

"Did you hear that?"

When Brown met Fang Yan again, he said mysteriously, "Your Earth authorities have already made a technological choice regarding the direction of energy development."

Fang Yan asked calmly, "Really? Which path did you choose?"

"Controlled nuclear fusion." Brown said with some surprise, "I didn't expect they would actually listen to your suggestion."

Fang Yan said, "Whether they listened to my advice or not is not important. What matters is that in this world, choice is always more important than hard work. Regardless, they chose this path, and they've done a good thing for the Earth."

Brown nodded slightly. He had heard similar remarks more than once. It seemed that the saying "choice is more important than hard work" was Fang Yan's motto.

Observing Fang Yan's reaction, Brown tentatively said, "Huang Yuan and Zhou Ziyu both approached me privately, asking if you'd be willing to assist with this project."

"After all, with Earth's current technological level and talent pool, it's still very difficult to develop a plasma confinement device while circumventing the Milky Way's existing patent system."

"Okay." Fang Yan nodded and said, "I just submitted the manuscript that Alia asked me to do last night, so I just happen to have some time now."

Brown was slightly startled. "I thought you would refuse, after all, I just lost my temper with them a few days ago. I didn't expect you to agree so readily."

"Let's put it this way," Fang Yan said. "I lost my temper because I was angry at the time, but now I've calmed down. If I look at the situation rationally again, Earth is my home, and I certainly won't refuse to do something for its development."

Brown laughed heartily. "It really is the hidden Berserker gene! He gets angry when he should, and calm when he should."

"You know, I've been studying Earth history lately, especially Chinese history."

Fang Yan was puzzled. "As the chief engineer stationed on Earth, why are you suddenly interested in liberal arts?"

Brown said, "I've discovered that you Chinese are extremely martial and have a very strong spirit of martyrdom. You always feel that you should do something great in your lifetime and not just be a coward forever."

"It seems that in your ideology, death isn't something to be feared, but death must be taken seriously. This is quite bizarre, considering that almost all life forms in the universe regard staying alive as their highest goal."

Fang Yan looked at Brown strangely. "Is this the result of your research? It's quite normal, right? It has been like this since ancient times."

"And I must remind you not to pay too much attention to those historical records, because according to our habit, we will write about the wars we lost in great detail and nail them forever on the pillar of shame in history so that future generations will remember them."

"Even if we win, but it's not a beautiful victory, with too many casualties, it will be considered a defeat, and the history books will record heartbreaking wails about the Chinese dying and the extinction of the Chinese race."

"To some extent, Chinese history is a collection of mistakes, meant to warn future generations. They are always saying things like the edifice is about to collapse, and making a mistake means the end of the world."

"In the real world, we're not berserkers. We just have a stronger sense of crisis."

Brown obviously disagreed with Fang Yan's point of view. "Then how do you explain the two most famous figures in history? Kong would beat people up first and then start to reason with them, while Meng would first reason with them and then beat them up."

"These two brutal men have become revered saints in your history. I've searched the entire galaxy and can't find a similar example." Fang Yan said disapprovingly, "Anyway, no matter what, we Chinese are just a group of honest farmers who enjoy farming."

"Of course, whoever doesn't allow us to farm."

"We just had to plant them in the ground."

What the hell!

Fang Yan's words shocked Brown and made his scalp tingle.

Brown has recently read some Earth novels. The Koreans like to put making money first, the Aryans are full of Madonna complexes, and the core of the Neon novels is always girls.

However, after almost all Chinese protagonists encounter unexpected events, the first thing they think of is to cut the roots and wipe out all the enemies from this world to prevent future troubles.

This idea is really terrifying. Whoever offends you, just kill him. Why do you have to wipe out the root of the problem?
What’s even more terrifying is that this idea isn’t held by just one person, but rather by the Chinese community as a whole…

Brown wanted to talk more with Fang Yan, but Fang Yan felt that there was nothing to talk about. It was normal to farm whoever told him not to. It was a matter of course and not worth mentioning at all.

In desperation, Brown had to end the conversation.

But then he turned around and wrote the following words in his diary.

"The strong spirit of martyrdom buried deep within the hearts of the Earth's Chinese is very similar to the Pan-Galactic Engineer culture. To some extent, they are born with the temperament of engineers, but deep down, they are even more brutal."

……

Galactic Alliance, Central Star Sector.

As soon as he arrived at the office, Aliat found the email from Fang Yan. He was pleasantly surprised and couldn't wait to open it and read it.

Compared with Fang Yan’s previous article published in the Space Power Forum, this paper is more in-depth, the data is more detailed, and the analysis is more comprehensive.

The paper elaborates on the various mechanisms of spatial disturbance, proposes a new optimization model, and verifies the effectiveness of the model through a large amount of experimental data.

Ariat was delighted. "Genius! Absolute genius! This paper will undoubtedly be a major breakthrough in the field of space jumps."

At present, due to the instability and disturbance of space energy, spacecraft often deviate from their course, stall or even crash during the jump process, which has always been a major problem in space navigation.

Just like now, the Earth Federation has regular flights to the Galactic Alliance only once every six months, and a large part of the reason for this is the instability of space jumps.

Assuming Fang Yan's algorithm and theory can really succeed, it will be a huge boost and improvement to the Earth and the entire galaxy.

Thinking of this, Aliat was full of anticipation, and really wanted to immediately send this theoretical article to the judges of the Star Ring Award.

suddenly~

Aliat also discovered that when Fang Yan sent this theoretical article, he also sent an attachment.

Aliat curiously opened the attachment and said to himself, "What is this?"
