Chapter 105 Uninvited Guest
Chapter 105 Uninvited Guest
Weiss arrived in Harugeon, a busy port city that attracted ships from all directions.
The huge sails and the sparkling water complement each other, and there is an endless stream of busy figures on the dock.
Harukion itself wasn't a city with frequent magical activity, and wizards were rarely seen. However, the ubiquitous magical carriages and children playing with magical toys all indicated the highly developed magical civilization of the continent of Ascalante.
Magic has long become an indispensable part of people's lives.
Wes asked some friendly locals about the magic props shop, and the answer he got was that there was only one magic shop in this bustling city.
He walked in the direction indicated and soon saw the narrow door with a faded sign hanging on it with the words "Source of Magic" engraved on it.
Weiss gently pushed open the wooden door that was just wide enough for one person to pass through sideways.
"Dingling~"
"Welcome!" As the crisp bell rang, the boss walked out from behind the counter and greeted us warmly.
Weiss looked around. The store was not big, about 30 square meters, but it was arranged in an orderly manner.
Various magical items are displayed on the shelves. Although the magical fluctuations they emit are not strong, each one is so novel and unique. The appearance is very different from the magical props in the Harry Potter world, and it exudes the unique mysterious atmosphere of Ascalante.
The shop owner was obviously a shrewd businessman. He first looked at Wes calmly, then immediately realized that this customer was extraordinary.
Normally, customers who look around and hesitate after entering the store are probably just visiting out of curiosity; but people like Wes who behave calmly are obviously well prepared and are very likely to become his big customers.
The boss narrowed his eyes and smiled flatteringly, "You seem like a strange customer. Is this your first time in Hargeon?"
Weiss nodded. "I heard yours is the only magic shop here, so I came here to take a look."
The boss's face lit up even more after hearing this, every muscle trying to convey his warmest smile. "Please allow me to introduce you. Although our shop may not look large, our variety of goods will definitely amaze you. Whether it's magic tents for camping, lighting equipment that can automatically adjust the temperature, or various magical potions that enhance magic power or heal injuries, we have everything here."
Weiss's eyes swept back and forth between the shelves. Such a small magic shop had such a complete range of goods. From this, it was clear that the level of magic in this world was higher than that of Harry Potter's world.
He carefully selected and finally chose dozens of items. With each item he picked up, the smile on the boss's face deepened.
[Wow, this customer today is a godsend! This single order could easily equal my monthly turnover!]
Just as Weiss was about to pay the bill, he suddenly realized that there was no currency in his wallet that was circulated in this world.
He paused awkwardly, and the boss's smile froze on his face: "Sir, don't you have any money?"
Weiss thought for a moment, then pulled out a glittering gold bar from the small bag he was carrying: "Would you like to take this?"
The boss's eyes suddenly lit up, "Gold?! Of course!"
After confirming the authenticity of the gold bars, the boss quickly completed the transaction, gave Weiss a wad of currency from this world, and respectfully escorted him out of the store, not forgetting to loudly bless him: "I wish you a wonderful time in Hargeon!"
After leaving the shop, Weiss walked straight to an elegantly decorated restaurant. He chose a seat by the window and the waiter quickly served him food: fresh lobster, fragrant seafood risotto, and dessert.
Weiss couldn't help swallowing.
Just as he was about to savor these delicacies, a short man wearing glasses and a strange mask came uninvited and sat directly across from him. Weiss didn't even look up, but said in a slightly cold tone, "I think there's other space here."
"Hey, man, don't be so stingy. You ordered so much that one person can't finish it."
The man's tone was very greasy, making people feel uncomfortable.
"You dealt with the wizard of the Dark Forest, but he caused me a lot of trouble." The man continued, not caring about the eyes of the people around him.
"Are they the five guys I killed in the forest?"
The man didn't expect Weiss to admit it so readily, and then he let out a creepy laugh: "Hehe, even though the Dark Forest is defined as a dark guild by the Council, killing them like this, hehe..."
"Are you threatening me?" Weiss raised his head and stared at the man opposite him with cold eyes.
"How terrifying." Instead of backing off, the man challenged her provocatively, "Are you going to fight here?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the other diners in the restaurant cast strange glances at him. After all, this restaurant was located on the busiest street in Harugeon, and the Magic Council had expressly forbidden mages from engaging in combat within the city.
Especially in such a crowded place, if a fight breaks out here, Weiss might be wanted by the Council, but he is not the kind of person who can be manipulated by others.
The wooden chair suddenly seemed to come alive. Several thick branches extended from the legs of the table, accurately wrapping the man's limbs and constantly tightening, making him unable to move.
The man obviously didn't expect Wes to subdue him in public.
"Oh~oh~ How audacious! They completely disregard the Council. They're even more brazen than the Dark Guild."
Weiss ignored the man's shouting.
"You're too noisy."
A soft branch silently emerged from behind the man, went around his head, and sealed his mouth tightly.
Weiss then continued to enjoy his meal as if nothing had happened. The commotion here attracted the attention of other guests and waiters. A waiter came over timidly and reminded: "Sir, please do not fight in the restaurant."
"Excuse me."
Weiss put down his knife and fork, his attitude very gentle.
Seeing this, the waiter breathed a sigh of relief and quickly retreated.
After the waiter left, Wes planned to interrogate the mysterious uninvited guest after finishing his meal.
However, the changes that happened to the man surprised him a little - he didn't know what kind of magic was used, but the branches that were wrapped around the man gradually loosened, and finally faded away completely, and the chair returned to its original appearance.
"Hey, please give me a set of tableware." The man raised his hand.
The waiter looked embarrassed and looked at Weiss. Weiss nodded, and the waiter dared to come forward and hand over the tableware, then hurried away.
After finishing their meal, Weiss stood up, paid the bill, and left the restaurant, with the man following closely behind.
