Chapter 27 The Trouble at Flourish and Blotts

Chapter 27 The Trouble at Flourish and Blotts

Weiss spent the entire holiday enjoying himself on the island. The seafood on the island was in great trouble, so the hardworking Zhan Di cooked a variety of delicious dishes for his host.

With the holiday almost over, Wes left the island three days early and returned to his Hogwarts dormitory. After a long absence, a thin layer of dust had accumulated in the room. The considerate Jandi immediately became the housekeeper and gave the house a thorough clean.

While Jandy was cleaning the house, Wes decided to go to Flourish and Blotts to see if all the books he had asked his boss to collect had arrived.

As soon as Weiss arrived at Diagon Alley, he saw that Flourish and Blotts was extremely bustling. The entire bookstore was filled with people, and there was a long line at the door.

The line stretched out into the street like a long snake.

More than 90% of the team were female wizards, and each of them was holding a book tightly in their hands.

The female witches gathered together and talked to each other in low voices. Whenever they talked about something exciting, they couldn't help but giggle. Then, as if realizing their loss of composure, they quickly covered their mouths in embarrassment.

"What good thing happened in the bookstore today?"

Weiss glanced at the bustling scene around him. He had never seen Flourish and Blotts so lively since he came to Hogwarts.

"do not you know?"

One of the witches raised her chin slightly and looked Weiss up and down as if he were a country bumpkin.

"Gilderoy Lockhart is holding a book signing at Flourish and Blotts today."

"who??"

Weiss frowned and thought for a moment before he remembered who this person was.

"Gilderoy Lockhart, Britain's most famous explorer and writer."

The other witch raised her head proudly, as if she was extremely proud of knowing this person.

After she gave Weiss a disdainful glance, she ignored him, as if saying any more to him would be a waste of time.

Weiss was confused. Where did this strange sense of superiority come from?
Looking at the crowded Flourish and Blotts, Weiss shook his head helplessly. He didn't want to join in the fun at all.

"Let's come back when there are fewer people." So he turned and went to Florin's Ice Cream Shop, ordered a cup of ice cream, and sat there for a full hour.

When Weiss came out of the ice cream shop, the line outside Flourish and Blotts hadn't decreased at all. Weiss had no choice but to use his privilege as a super VIP customer of the bookstore and cut in line with the help of the owner.

Such actions naturally caused dissatisfaction among others.

The witches cast angry glances at him and muttered something under their breath.

But Wes didn't care. He just wanted to get the books he needed as soon as possible and leave this noisy place.

"All the books you want are on the shelves over there."

The boss hurriedly said hello and then plunged into his busy work. He was really too busy today and had almost no time to rest.

Weiss came to the bookshelf and quietly flipped through the books. These books were collected by Weiss on behalf of his boss, and each one had unique value.

However, the occasional screams from the book signing nearby made it impossible for Weiss to calm down. The witches' screams kept interrupting his thoughts.

Weiss sighed helplessly and planned to take the books back and read them slowly.

Just then, the noise coming from the book signing attracted Weiss's attention.

"You are a disgrace to the purebloods, making friends with Muggles!"

The person who said this is undoubtedly a supporter of the pure-blood theory.

"Heh~ The new Muggle Protection Act has got you in a mess. Have you dealt with all the dark magic props in your home? Be careful that I might catch you."

Another voice responded without hesitation, its words full of sarcasm.

"Are you threatening me?"

Lucius Malfoy was so angry that he almost pushed Arthur Weasley to the ground.

"How dare you!" Molly Weasley's face turned red with anger, and she immediately threw the book in her hand at Lucius.

Lucius reacted quickly and dodged the attack by tilting his head.

"you this……"

Arthur stood up, his body already shaking slightly with anger.

"Beat him, Dad!"

"Give him some color and see!"

The Weasley twins shouted excitedly, constantly cheering their father on.

Their faces were full of anticipation, and they were not afraid of making things worse.

"Shut up, you poor red-haired bastards..."

Draco Malfoy raised his chin arrogantly, spewing venom wantonly.

Ron was enraged by his words and pushed Draco to the ground.

Lucius, regardless of his adult status, was about to attack Ron.

Arthur couldn't bear it any longer and punched Lucius in the eye.

Lucius was stunned by the sudden attack. He froze for a moment, then his anger ignited completely. He no longer cared about the glory of pure-bloods or the face of nobility, and wrestled with Arthur.

The two men fell to the ground in a humiliating manner and refused to stop, like two mad beasts.

The area was crowded with onlookers, who watched the farce with all kinds of expressions on their faces.

When the reporters who were covering the book signing event saw this scene, their eyes suddenly lit up.

They quickly turned their cameras on the two men fighting and excitedly took a lot of photos. For the reporters, this would be excellent news material.

Gilderoy Lockhart also came over, his face full of false concern. "Gentlemen, stop it! There are still many books. I will ensure that everyone can get my autograph."

Then, he turned and whispered to the reporter, "This is a promotional advertisement delivered to my door. It's like the twenty-eight sacred families are fighting over my new book. What a great gimmick."

After saying this, he quietly put some money into the reporter's pocket. The reporter immediately understood what he meant and found several different angles to take pictures of Lockhart, making it look like Lockhart was trying to mediate the fight.

【The sales of this book will explode now! 】

Thinking of this, Lockhart's smile grew even brighter.

A large number of female book fans looked at Lockhart's charming smile and became infatuated with him, their eyes flashing with admiration.

"Someone come and separate them!"

The owner of the bookstore saw the two men fighting and scared away many customers, so he spoke out to stop them.

Weiss watched the farce speechlessly.

"Separate quickly."

A flash of magical light passed by, and Lucius and Arthur were forcibly separated by magic.

The two men stood up, both looking a little embarrassed.

Lucius quickly straightened his robes to make himself look less disheveled.

However, his messy hair made him look a little funny, like a bird's nest blown by the wind.

Arthur looked around and saw that the onlookers had surrounded them in three layers.

Arthur, who always cared about his image, felt extremely embarrassed. "This is simply too disgraceful."

"Don't expect to have a good life at the Ministry of Magic in the future, Weasley!" Lucius yelled at Arthur.

Faced with Lucius's threat, Arthur did not back down.

He puffed out his chest and said, "Don't think I don't know what you did in the past, you..."

"Shut up!!"

Lucius interrupted Arthur loudly.

The two were about to fight again, and the atmosphere became tense again.

"Gentlemen, you are blocking the door, please move aside."

A calm voice called out, and Lucius and Arthur both turned their heads towards its source.

Lucius frowned when he saw that it was a young wizard he didn't recognize.

"and who are you??"

Lucius asked in a questioning tone.

"Professor Erwin! You're here too!"

When Hermione saw Weiss, she immediately greeted him enthusiastically and solemnly introduced Erwin to her parents beside her.

"This is Professor Erwin, the teacher who teaches the magic rune class at our school."

Erwin greeted Hermione's parents with ordinary etiquette, and the whole process seemed very decent.

Hermione's parents never expected that their daughter's magic school would have a professor who understood the etiquette of ordinary people.

"I'm a Muggle-born, just like Hermione."

Seeing the surprised expressions of Hermione's parents, Weiss explained.

Lucius's mouth curled up in a disdainful arc: "Dumbledore is really getting old and confused. He actually hired a piece of idiot..."

Weiss took a step forward and looked Lucius in the eyes.

"Mr. Malfoy, you've had enough of the limelight today. How about we stop here?"

Weiss's tone was gentle and his smile was kind.

But Lucius felt a tightness in his heart and his hair stood on end.

How is this possible? Who is this young wizard? Why do I feel the same sense of oppression from him as from that person?
