Chapter 371 Faint move
Chapter 371 Faint move
Seeing that Wes seemed unmoved, Ross could no longer control his long-suppressed impatience. He frowned, nodded slightly, and signaled the soldiers around him to take action.
After receiving the order, a soldier quickly stepped forward and reached out to grab Weiss's shoulder, saying, "Sir, please cooperate with us."
Just before the soldier's hand touched Wes's shoulder, it seemed as if it had encountered some extremely powerful force, and its entire hand instantly turned into powder and floated away in the air.
The soldier didn't even have time to scream before his eyes widened in pain and shock, and his body staggered backwards.
Seeing this, the other soldiers subconsciously took a few steps back, their faces showing horror, but they quickly raised their guns and pointed them at Weiss, shouting loudly: "Don't move!!"
The black muzzle of the gun seemed particularly intimidating in this small potion shop, but Weiss remained calm.
"Calm down, everyone calm down!!"
Tony quickly spoke to calm these extremely nervous soldiers. He knew that if a gun went off accidentally, the situation would become uncontrollable.
Ross was so angry that he was shaking all over when he saw this. He was about to give the order again, asking the soldiers to attack regardless of the consequences, but at this moment, he was horrified to find that he could not make any sound. Even his eyelids could not move at all. His body was completely imprisoned. Suddenly, he felt extremely panicked.
"Ross, calm down..."
While Tony continued to comfort the emotional soldiers, he turned to look at Ross and finally realized that something was wrong.
"Wes, I think this is just a misunderstanding..."
Tony stubbornly said nonsense that he himself did not believe, trying to ease the conflict between the two sides in this tense situation that was on the verge of breaking out. However, the words that came out of his mouth seemed so pale and powerless.
Everyone present knew that things had developed to this point and could not be easily explained away by a simple "misunderstanding".
"This is not a misunderstanding, this is a declaration of war."
Weiss said with a stern expression and a cold tone, then slowly stood up.
When he stood up, the soldiers who had pointed their guns at him suddenly became more nervous. They cautiously took a few steps back, and the knuckles of their hands holding the guns turned white from the force. But they did not dare to put down their weapons without permission, and could only remain in a stalemate, their eyes full of fear and vigilance.
Weiss didn't even glance at the people in the room and walked straight out of the shop.
Ross floated up, as if being pulled by an invisible hand, and slowly moved out of the shop with Wes.
When Wes walked out of the door, he found that this usually bustling street was now surrounded by military personnel in three layers, and no one could get through.
Armored vehicles were on high alert, with the heavy weapons on the vehicles pointed at the direction where Weiss was standing, and there were many soldiers armed with live ammunition around.
"Since you want war, I will give you war."
Weiss looked at the situation before him, which looked like a formidable enemy, without a trace of fear in his eyes.
At this moment, Ross's body floating in the air underwent strange changes. Like a balloon that was constantly inflated, it began to grow bigger and bigger. His originally normal body shape expanded rapidly. It looked both funny and weird, which made people feel scared.
"Stop it Weiss!!"
Tony saw this and shouted anxiously.
"Bang!"
Ross's body suddenly exploded.
Tony closed his eyes in pain.
He knew things had taken a turn for the worst. He had originally only intended to seek Wes's help in promoting the Superhero Registration Act, but he hadn't expected it to spiral into such an unmanageable situation. This was completely beyond his expectations. "Fire!"
Someone shouted, and then gunshots rang out like raindrops. Countless bullets were fired at Wes. For a moment, the place was filled with smoke and flashes of fire.
"Ceasefire!"
"Cease fire!"
Tony shouted anxiously, trying to stop the crazy shooting. He knew that doing so would not hurt Wes at all and would only make the situation worse.
However, at this moment, the soldiers had already fallen into tension and panic and could not hear Tony's shouts at all. The gunshots were still deafening and the whole street was shrouded in smoke.
Unfortunately, Tony was no longer able to stop the situation from getting out of control. Bullets rained down on Wes. The continuous gunfire finally stopped until all the magazines in the soldiers' guns were emptied.
Everyone waited nervously for the smoke to dissipate, their hearts in their throats, wondering what would become of Wes under this round of hail of bullets.
When the smoke finally cleared, everyone gasped at the scene before them. Wes was standing there unharmed, without even a trace of a bullet on his body.
"I can explain."
Seeing this, Tony hurriedly stood in front of Wes, trying to make a final effort to ease the situation. He knew that once Wes was completely enraged, something even more terrible would happen next.
But Wes just waved his hand lightly, and Tony was tied up tightly. He couldn't move at all and was trapped in the place, his eyes full of anxiety and helplessness.
Weiss's hand suddenly appeared with the Mind Scepter.
"Killing each other."
In an instant, the soldiers who were originally on high alert seemed to be possessed by a demon. Their eyes became empty and blurred. They mechanically pointed their guns at each other and pulled the trigger without any hesitation.
"Oh!"
"Oh!"
Gunshots rang out again on the street, but this time, it was the soldiers who fell. Their bodies fell backwards under the impact of bullets, and blood spread on the ground, soon gathering into pools of blood. The whole street instantly turned into a bloody Shura field.
Tony watched this tragic scene unfold before his eyes, feeling extremely painful. He closed his eyes tightly, unable to bear to watch any longer.
The matter was clearly not over yet, and Wes was not the type to let it go easily.
Although Ross, as the Secretary of Defense, has considerable power in the military, his actions today were clearly instigated by someone else. There is obviously a more critical figure behind him who is secretly controlling everything.
There was an icy chill in Weiss's eyes, and he had already made up his mind to find out the forces behind this and make them pay a heavy price for their actions today.
He moved his body and soared into the sky, rushing towards the sky like a cannonball. The speed was so fast that in the blink of an eye he turned into a small black dot and disappeared from Tony's sight.
"Sir! He's flying towards Washington!"
Jarvis's voice, mechanical yet a little anxious, reminded Tony loudly.
Washington is the political center of the United States, where many powerful figures gather. Various confidential agencies and decision-making departments that influence the direction of the entire country and even the world are located.
Wes flew in that direction, undoubtedly going to stir up a bigger storm, and no one could predict what terrible consequences this storm would cause.
