Chapter 48 Invitation

The streets of London are unusually busy today. The British Royal Guards can be seen everywhere. They are dressed in bright uniforms, marching in step, and the muskets in their hands flash coldly in the sun, adding a touch of tension to the city.

"Finally here." Weiss whispered to himself, then gently put down the newspaper in his hand.

Weiss quietly followed a team of royal guards, his steps light and cautious, hardly attracting anyone's attention.

This group of royal soldiers, armed with muskets, stormed into the 'Old Captain's Daughter Tavern' with great momentum.

At this moment, the pirates in the tavern were shouting loudly and sharing their adventure stories, while the women were giggling and seducing the men passing by with their charming eyes.

However, the moment the royal soldiers broke in, the entire tavern instantly fell into chaos and panic, and the pirates and prostitutes in the bar were immediately panicked.

They had no idea why the Royal Guards suddenly appeared in this lawless area. This place had always been their safe haven, a place where they could indulge themselves.

Some pirates instinctively wanted to resist and frantically reached for their weapons. However, before they could make any move, several gunshots echoed in the tavern, and several pirates fell to the ground.

The royal soldiers seemed to know their target very well. They rushed into the inner rooms of the tavern without hesitation, obviously well prepared.

Inside the room, Angelica and Jack Sparrow were surrounded by a group of royal soldiers.

Jack Sparrow tried to take Angelica away, but found that she seemed to be fixed in place.

"Baoer, now is not the time to joke..."

Angelica could only keep giving Jack Sparrow a look, telling him to run away quickly.

After confirming that all this was done by Wes, Jack Sparrow calmed down. He pinched his orchid fingers and looked Wes up and down, secretly trying to figure out the purpose and identity of this mysterious man.

"Captain Sparrow."

"The Fountain of Youth. I need you to take me to the Fountain of Youth."

"There is no secret in this world that can be hidden from me." Weiss's tone revealed a hint of confidence, but then his expression became a little embarrassed because he realized that he did not know the exact location of the Fountain of Youth.

"Then why don't you know where the Fountain of Youth is?" Jack Sparrow asked back.

Wes coughed awkwardly twice, trying to cover up his mistake. "It seems Mr. Wizard isn't omniscient either." Jack Sparrow wiped his beard with his pinky finger, his eyes rolling around as he pondered how to deal with this troublesome Wes.

He was unwilling to cooperate with Wes, a dangerous and mysterious guy, because he knew very well that such people would often bring unexpected troubles.

"I can give you a reward that will satisfy you."

Wes opened the suitcase, and the gold bars that flew out were piled up as high as a person, and the dim room instantly became shining with gold.

Everyone became greedy, their eyes fixed on the gold.

If they hadn't been held in place by the spell, they would have rushed forward immediately.

"What evidence do you have?" Jack Sparrow looked at Wes suspiciously.

Instead of answering directly, Wes lifted the spell on Angelica, who tried to activate the mechanism and escape.

"Don't act rashly, ma'am."

Hearing Weiss's warning, Angelica stopped her sword mid-air. Although she was unwilling to give up, she also knew that she was no match for Weiss.

"This is a matter between us, don't involve her."

Jack Sparrow stepped forward and stood in front of Angelica.

Angelica was so moved that she dropped her sword and hugged Jack Sparrow tightly around the waist.

"You mean the Black Pearl is now locked in a small bottle?" Jack Sparrow interrupted her and spoke anxiously.

"Jack, if you help me find the Fountain of Youth, I will have my father return the Black Pearl to you."

"Ha~~ Are you Blackbeard's biological daughter? How can you speak so innocently?"

"Jack!!" Angelica was furious.

Jack Sparrow shrugged, "Blackbeard is the cruelest and most cunning pirate on the sea. I don't trust him."

"Captain Sparrow is right, and I was the one who extended the invitation first." Weiss stood up.

"Don't waste time, Captain Sparrow, give me an answer." Weiss said in a tone that could not be refused.

If Jack Sparrow refused Wes's invitation, he still had a backup plan, which was to steal the magical compass from Jack Sparrow.
