Chapter 59 Substitute Teacher
The new semester has begun, and students are surprised to find that the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Lupin, is unexpectedly reliable.

Whenever Professor Lupin entered the classroom, his arrival was always greeted with a warm welcome.

In class, Professor Lupin always explains the complex knowledge of Defense Against the Dark Arts in an easy-to-understand way, allowing students to easily understand and master it.

Whether he is explaining obscure theoretical knowledge or guiding students in practical exercises, he always does an exceptionally good job.

This made many students sigh that since Professor Lupin took over, they felt for the first time that Defense Against the Dark Arts was not only important, but also interesting.

The students all think that Professor Lupin is the most advanced Defense Against the Dark Arts professor in recent years. Except for the students of Slytherin, the students of the other three colleges like the new professor very much.

During the time he was teaching, Professor Lupin's quality of life was very different from before, and his complexion was much better than before.

In the past, he often had to face hunger and loneliness, but at Hogwarts, he finally no longer had to endure the days of hunger.

The school not only provides adequate food, but also the love of students and care from colleagues. All of this has given him a brand new mental outlook.

On this day, when the moon was full, Lupin got a bottle of wolfsbane potion from Weiss and then disappeared in a hurry.

Before leaving, he asked Weiss to substitute for him in the class.

Weiss wanted to refuse, but Lupin was walking so fast that he didn't have time to respond.

"Actually, you can ask Dean Snape. I think he'd be happy to cover for you."

Weiss shouted in the direction Lupin left, but unfortunately, Lupin had already disappeared.

Weiss reluctantly came to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, which happened to be a class for third-year students.

When the students saw Wes, they thought he had walked into the wrong classroom.

"Professor Erwin, this is not the classroom for the magic rune class." A blonde girl politely reminded.

Weiss smiled slightly and explained, "Oh, I know that. Professor Lupin is feeling a little unwell, so he asked me to cover for one class."

"What happened to Professor Lupine?"

Ever since Professor Lupin came, he has always taken special care of Harry. Not only did he give extra help in class, but he also taught him a lot of practical defense skills in private, which made Harry feel particularly grateful to Lupin.

"Don't worry, it's just a minor problem." Weiss looked at the noisy classroom where the students were still whispering, and raised his voice, "Quiet, students, please be quiet. Can anyone tell me what you learned in last class?"

Hermione immediately raised her hand. "Professor Lupin's last lecture was about how to deal with red hats."

Weiss flipped through the textbook, then closed it and decided to express himself freely.

"So, ladies and gentlemen, what kind of creature are you most worried about encountering in the wild?"

Ron couldn't wait to blurt out: "Soul Eaters! My mother said they are the most evil creatures and they will suck away people's souls."

"Werewolf," Hermione said with certainty, "A single bite from a werewolf transforms you into a new werewolf."

"vampire."

"I think it's a mummy."

"."

The students' answers varied widely.

Weiss looked at these imaginative children and said with a smile, "You are all right."

The students were a little disappointed and felt that Wes was just being perfunctory.

"However, based on my experience, wizards are probably the most dangerous."

As soon as these words were spoken, the classroom fell into silence, and the students said they didn't quite understand the answer given by Weiss.

Weiss went on to explain, "Because you never know whether the wizard you meet is a dark wizard." When the dark wizard was mentioned, the atmosphere in the class became solemn, and some students even shrank their necks unconsciously. When they were disobedient when they were young, their parents would scare them with the evil rumors of dark wizards.

The students' reactions made Weiss realize that he might have been a little too serious.

So he hurriedly comforted them, "Don't worry, children. You are now in Hogwarts, one of the safest places in the world. You won't encounter any dark wizards." "But there are Dementors outside the school." A little Ravenclaw girl frowned and complained, "I can't go to Hogsmeade this semester. I've been looking forward to it for a long time."

"That's right, my mother is unwilling to sign for me and asks me to stay in school." Another student also muttered.

"Me too..." More students joined in the complaints, and the classroom was filled with disappointed voices.

The topic had unknowingly drifted off topic, and the students' attention was now focused on the Dementors.

At this time, a student mustered up the courage to ask: "Professor, can you teach us the magic to repel Dementors?"

"Yeah," another student added excitedly, "that move is really cool!"

Weiss smiled and patiently explained, "That's a very difficult spell. Many adult wizards haven't fully mastered it. It's too difficult for you."

Hearing this, the students became dejected. In order to divert their attention, Wes decided to change the teaching plan.

"Let's conduct a practical exercise in this class." As he said this, he gently waved the magic wand in his hand, and the tables and chairs in the classroom moved automatically, freeing up a large open space in the middle.

"Form a group of two and find your partners quickly."

Such an interesting thing immediately attracted the students' attention. They acted quickly and soon found their partners.

"You've all learned the disarming spell, right?" Wes asked.

"Yes." The students answered in unison.

"Does anyone have experience with this spell?" Weiss looked around, but no student raised their hand. "No one?"

The students lowered their heads in shame, not daring to look Weiss in the eye.

"This is not your fault. The professors of this course in the past two years..." Having said that, Wes didn't know how to evaluate those two professors.

"That's not important." Weiss clapped his hands. "I need an assistant now. Who's willing?"

When the children heard this, they all raised their hands, with Draco raising his hand the highest and fastest.

"That's you, Mr. Malfoy."

Draco stood out proudly like a victorious general.

"Are you ready?" Weiss asked seriously, holding up his wand.

"I'm ready."

"Disarm your weapon!" Weiss immediately cast a disarming spell while Draco was not paying attention, and the wand in Draco's hand was instantly knocked away.

Draco was caught off guard and could only pout in grievance, his eyes full of unwillingness.

"This is the first point I want to teach you. Strike first and gain the upper hand." Weiss said slowly, "When you encounter an unidentified wizard, regardless of whether they have malicious intent or not, the first thing you need to do is to make them lose their combat power. The Disarming Charm is a very useful spell. Most wizards can't cast magic without their wands."

Draco silently retrieved his wand.

"Now you attack me," Weiss said, looking at Draco.

Draco was filled with anger, and in anger he successfully cast a Disarming Spell at Weiss, but Weiss easily dodged it.

"Secondly, your opponent isn't made of wood," Weiss said earnestly. "They will dodge and counterattack. You must remain vigilant during combat and not treat them as immobile targets."

"Mr. Malfoy was very good at successfully performing the Disarming Charm. Five points for Slytherin."

The students of Snake Academy high-fived to celebrate.

Only Draco was unhappy. He felt that his performance was terrible and he was a clown.
