Chapter 71 Departure
Weiss slowly reached into his chest and pulled out a small, exquisite pouch. He pinched a corner of the pouch and gently shook it. The next second, a clear, pleasant, and crisp jingling sound echoed from the pouch.

Jonathan had always prided himself on his keen hearing, and almost the instant the sound occurred, his ears pricked up. He accurately recognized the unique sound of gold coins colliding with each other, and his eyes lit up.

Wes casually threw the pocket to Jonathan, who hurriedly stretched out his hands to carefully catch it. When he couldn't wait to open the pocket, the shining light of dozens of gold coins almost made him dizzy. He stared blankly at the handful of gold coins in his hand.

"My sincerity," Weiss said calmly. "Finding the legendary Hamunaptra is no easy task. It requires a lot of preparation. These are my investments."

Jonathan clutched his pocket tightly, still hesitant. His eyes flickered between the gold coin and Wes, his thoughts spinning like a whirling windmill.

These gold coins were a considerable amount, and even after purchasing equipment, there would still be a lot left. Even if he didn't find Hamunatta's treasure, with these gold coins, he could spend a lot for a long time.

But if the treasure is found, if Wes doesn't take most of it as agreed, the loss will be too great.

Jonathan was caught in an inner struggle. On the one hand, the gold coins in front of him were undoubtedly a huge sum of money. On the other hand, he was unwilling to give up the potential huge wealth.

There was a conflicted look on his face, his brows were slightly furrowed, and two little people were constantly arguing in his heart.

"Jonathan, I think you can see that I am not short of money, but I am not interested in money."

Although Weiss's words may sound pretentious, they are actually the truth.

After hearing this, Evelyn and Jonathan gnashed their teeth in anger, their faces looking like they wanted to beat someone up.

I secretly muttered to myself: [This guy really deserves a beating, but I'm so envious!]

"If we reach Hamunaptra, I will only pick two things, and all the other treasures will belong to you." Wes spoke again and made his promise.

"Is everything you said true!!" Jonathan asked with some doubt.

"It's true."

When Jonathan heard this, he immediately grabbed Wes's hand, as if he was afraid that he would go back on his word.

Evelyn watched from the side and breathed a sigh of relief. She knew Jonathan's character. Once treasure was involved, he would always become extremely sensitive.

Then, the three of them set off for the prison together.

Along the way, Jonathan kept introducing Wes and Evelyn to the person they were looking for.

"That guy is a deserter. He was caught and imprisoned here."

The prison environment is dark and damp, and the air is filled with the smell of mold and rust.

Jonathan used money to pave the way and soon met the male protagonist O'Connor.

Two jailers roughly held him down and forcibly led him out, and O'Connor was forced to kneel on the ground.

He looked a little haggard, with disheveled hair, a face covered in dirt, and open wounds on his body.

O'Connor recognized Jonathan at a glance. He glared at him and shouted, "You thief!"

Evelyn hurriedly took out a black box and placed it in front of O'Connor. The box looked a little old and had a hint of mystery.

"Where did you get this?"

O'Connor immediately recognized this as the mysterious box he had brought from Hamunatta. "I brought this thing from Hamunatta."

Evelyn's eyes lit up, and she squatted down excitedly, looking at O'Connor.

"Have you been to Hamunaptra?? Hamunaptra really exists??"

"of course."

"Tell me how to get to Hamunaptra," Evelyn asked again eagerly. "Come closer," O'Connor said mysteriously.

Evelyn thought O'Connor would tell the secret, so she approached the fence without hesitation, but O'Connor suddenly kissed her.

The jailer next to him saw this and became furious. He hit O'Connor hard on the back with a stick, followed by a round of punches and kicks.

O'Connor was dragged away like a dead dog, shouting, "If you want to get to Hamunaptra, get me out! I'm going to be executed soon! If I die, you'll never find Hamunaptra."

Evelin was frightened by this sudden kiss and stood there in a daze, her face flushed, unable to calm down for a long time.

Jonathan reacted quickly and pulled Evelyn to find the warden. Finally, they paid 10 gold coins to redeem O'Connor from prison.

"You'd better really know where Hamunaptra is, otherwise I'll make you pay." Jonathan counted the remaining gold coins with heartache. He hadn't even set off yet and he had already spent 10 gold coins. His heart was bleeding.

O'Connor breathed the fresh air. Although he was free, he smelled so bad that people were afraid to approach him.

"Give me some money." O'Connor said to Jonathan bluntly.

Jonathan covered his pocket tightly and asked warily, "What are you doing?"

"Purchase weapons and equipment," O'Connor spread his hands. "You don't want to go to Hamunaptra unarmed, do you?"

Jonathan was worried about O'Connor, so he followed him to purchase equipment.

Evelyn kept staring at O'Connor blankly, not knowing what she was thinking.

Wes took her back to the hotel, and a few hours later, O'Connor and Jonathan returned with a lot of bags.

"Bang!" O'Connor threw a package heavily on the table. After opening it, it was full of various guns.

There were bullets of various types, long and short, and even a few bundles of explosives.

"Oh my God!" Evelyn exclaimed, "Did you empty the armory?"

"Hoo-hoo!" Jonathan slumped down in his seat, panting. He was exhausted from this shopping trip. "Ask him."

Evelyn turned her gaze to O'Connor, who had already cut his long hair and cleaned himself up.

He was wearing a simple pair of overalls and a white top, which showed off his muscular body to the fullest and he looked very charming.

O'Connor was loading the guns. Feeling Evelyn's gaze, he looked up at her and said, "Hamna Tower is not a safe place. There are a group of difficult guards there."

Evelyn looked away embarrassedly, but she had a deeper understanding of O'Connor's professionalism.

Wes was also looking at O'Connor, and he sensed a vague power from O'Connor.

"If it's not magic, what kind of power is this?" Weiss thought to himself.

O'Connor looked at Weiss: "You are?"

"An ancient Egyptian history enthusiast." Weiss simply stated his identity without further explanation.

O'Connor looked at Wes's thin figure and said, "You are too weak. The desert will kill you." In his eyes, Wes looked like a rich young man who was powerless.

"I have the ability to protect myself." Weiss's answer was still calm.

"Really? Then it's up to you."
