Chapter 42

"Scholars use their talents to develop a wide range of principles. They then imprint their own principles on the outside world."

"But I comprehend all kinds of truths and refine them into qi, seeking the truth."

"Others cultivate the holy way, but I cultivate the true way."

While Xiao Jun was listening to the old man's lecture and taking notes on the desk, he was also silently using the hexagrams to deduce the way of Qigong in his mind.

Now Xiao Jun can do two things at once, but doing two things at once is a very mentally draining task and requires extreme concentration.

Doing this is extremely exhausting, but Xiao Jun, through the method of practicing Qi, has cultivated a stream of mental energy, which supports Xiao Jun in doing two things at the same time, which is so exhausting.

"Xiao Jun, please tell me, what is the meaning of the so-called sage's statement that he only speaks and does not create?"

The old man directly called out Xiao Jun's name. Xiao Jun had no choice but to stand up and use his brain.

In fact, after Xiao Jun came to this ancient world where Confucianism flourished, he found that the educational philosophy was actually very similar to that of modern Earth, both of which cultivated children's inspiring thinking.

This is certainly a good thing, but sometimes people will just interrupt for no reason and ask about the meaning of a sentence they have never learned.

"If you raise one corner without using the other three to support it, it will be useless."

What this means is that if you teach students and they can't apply what you have learned to other situations, then you should just forget about it.

In this world, education requires not only the memorization of a large amount of knowledge, but also the ability to draw inferences from one instance. If you cannot answer the question or your answer does not satisfy the teacher, the teacher will punish you directly.

Xiao Jun could only answer as best he could. He pondered for a moment before answering the old man's question:
“The books we read have essentially become who we are. Our thoughts and ideas are essentially derived from past learning and experiences. What happens in the future will also come from the past. So we only need to explain our past to inspire the future.”

"We just need to look at our history objectively so that we can grow, instead of continuing to impose our own ideas on it."

"Hmm..." The old man pondered and stared at Xiao Jun with a serious face. Somehow, he felt a little nervous, a bit like the nervousness he felt when he was a child in his previous life and was criticized by the teacher for not handing in homework.

Sure enough, no matter which world it is, teachers always have a natural pressure on students, which greatly increases people's psychological pressure.

"Sit down!"

Xiao Jun breathed a sigh of relief unconsciously and sat back in his seat.

The old man nodded and said, "That's not comprehensive. In the eyes of the saints, their wisdom has reached an extremely high level. The wisdom of the saints is enough to cover everything. We only need to follow the saintly path, starting from the shallow to the deep, learning from the bottom and then reaching the top. Then we can gradually enter the saintly path. There is no need for more bloated words. It is just a matter of describing, not doing."

"Of course, by examining one's past, one can foresee the future. This is only part of the wisdom of the saints."

Watching the old man walk away, Xiao Jun just listened.

In fact, in Xiao Jun's view, the so-called Confucianism and literature are essentially a game of words. A sentence has completely different meanings in the eyes of different people.

There's a saying that goes, "Once the author creates a work, it no longer belongs to them." The reason is simple: there are a thousand Hamlets in the eyes of a thousand people. Everyone's perceptions are different, and it's impossible to say which interpretation is correct or which is wrong.

The essence of examinations is to give you a fixed reference answer and let people follow a fixed understanding.

This greatly limits the boundaries of human wisdom and restricts human possibilities.

But there are so many talented people in the world, and countless people read books, and from this kind of word game, they understand the truth, and then gain the recognition of heaven and saints, becoming Jinshi or even Daru. Becoming a Jinshi or Daru is a realm that only the most advanced human wisdom can reach.

Although the talents of humans in this world are limited to Confucianism and Taoism, and they do not have a deep understanding of the Book of Changes, mathematics, physics, and physiology, the wisdom that has been passed down and sublimated for thousands of years is also a beautiful sight.

Although Xiao Jun embarked on another path of Qi training and became a Qi practitioner.

By refining the truth into qi, qi becomes Xiao Jun's power to prove the truth.

In Xiao Jun's view, "The Zhouyi Cantongqi" and the theory of inner alchemy are essentially a large-scale human life system project.

The human body is composed of all things that have evolved from the myriad of Qi created by the primordial Qi. It is an extremely complex system. The Zhouyi Cantongqi deciphers the human body's system through the calculation of the Eight Trigrams and then controls the human body for transformation.

Grasping the laws of life's qi and then using these laws to extend one's lifespan and develop one's own spiritual and life potential, this is the theory of inner alchemy.

After Xiao Jun comprehended the theory of inner alchemy, he already had a goal, which was... to become an immortal.

Yes, it was immortality. Xiao Jun had previously overlooked the wisdom inherent in the inner alchemy theory, believing it to be an extremely complex miracle. But after gaining a deeper understanding, Xiao Jun discovered that immortality was indeed possible.

For example, the human spirit is vast and boundless, with infinite possibilities. The human mind has no limits. If immortality is absolute freedom and perfection, then the human mind or spirit can achieve it.

The mind comprehends the secret of the unborn, the indestructible, the impure, the unsullied, the unincreasing, and the undiminished. The spirit journeys through the land of nothingness, the mind wanders in and out of existence. One realizes one's own innate wisdom, and the mind comprehends the bodhi mind of the other shore, the great nirvana.

The human spirit can reach the realm of immortals, where the mind is in harmony with the true way, allowing the human spirit to achieve absolute freedom and happiness. This is the spirit of immortals.

The physical body can be transformed through techniques such as magic and medicine to master the laws of life and regulate the qi to keep the physical body permanent.

The physical body can be transformed through technology so that one's life can conform to the laws of nature and remain in the world forever, thus achieving immortality and reaching the level of immortal life.

The mind of an immortal can be comprehended, and the life and body of an immortal can be realized.

Becoming an immortal is not a complicated or impossible thing. In other words, becoming an immortal is essentially Xiao Jun's exploration of the truth.

By using the inner alchemy of Qi training, one can decipher the laws of one's body and mind, and then refine and transform them, allowing oneself to evolve. Finally, both the mind and body will reach the level of immortality, completely achieving immortality.

This is one of the future paths for Qigong practitioners, or in other words, becoming an immortal is just a milestone for Qigong practitioners.
