Absolute Zone Zero: Please call me the Dragon of Annihilation
Chapter 14: 6th Street: Ramen Shop
Chapter 14: Six-minute Street: Ramen Shop
"Dang!" The sound of metal clashing echoed, and as the deliveryman stared in disbelief, Tyrfeng's ethereal blade, which had struck Mingche's head, sparked and broke in two.
Ming Che frowned in displeasure, turned around, and grabbed the core above Tyrfing's head. He whispered, "Dragon Flame!" The next second, Tyrfing was engulfed in blazing flames, the dazzling light illuminating Ming Che's cold face.
The dragon's yellow pupils reflected the figure in flames. An aura of superiority emerged from Mingche, like a god looking down on an ant with contempt. After struggling for a few moments, Tyrfing finally turned into a ball of ethereal ash and disappeared.
Mingche flexed his grip a few times, glancing sideways at the still-dazed Satyr and Apeka. His yellow dragon pupils gleamed faintly. He said in a stern tone, "Next." "Roar!" Satyr roared, raising his weapon and charging at Mingche.
Looking at the Satyr approaching, Ming Che's mouth curled up slightly. When the Satyr was about to strike, Ming Che's figure suddenly disappeared. "Bang!" The streetlight weapon in the Satyr's hand left a small pit on the ground.
Just as Satyr was wondering why Mingche had disappeared, Mingche's voice rang out from behind him. "Flame Fist!" A fist engulfed in flames swiftly struck Satyr's core. "Boom!" A fiery explosion followed.
Satyr's body also turned into etheric matter and was completely absorbed by Mingche. Apekha saw that something was wrong and turned and ran while Mingche was not paying attention. Mingche turned around and found that Apekha had already run dozens of meters away.
Just as he was about to raise his foot to chase after him, he was interrupted by a figure, "Hey! Stop chasing me, kid, delivering the goods is more important!" Ming Che looked back reluctantly and saw the deliveryman leaning half of his body out of the driver's seat, shouting at him to get back in the car.
Ming Che clenched his fists in frustration and glanced once more at the direction Apeka had fled. "You're pretty quick," Ming Che cursed inwardly, quickly walking to the passenger seat of the truck and getting in. Seeing Ming Che get in, the deliveryman praised him as he drove.
"Kid, you almost scared me to death just now. I didn't expect you to be so powerful that you could withstand Tyrfing's attack with your body. How about I treat you to ramen after delivering the goods?" Ming Che yawned, reclined the chair, and lay on it to take a nap.
The deliveryman chuckled and slowed down. Ming Che, sensing the change in speed, snorted softly, resting his hands behind his head as he slowly opened his eyes, staring at the gray roof without much emotion.
"Tell me, is the appearance of this void a good thing or a bad thing?" Seeing that Ming Che wasn't planning on sleeping, the deliveryman took the initiative to start a conversation. Ming Che closed his eyes and said calmly, "In the eyes of others, as long as there's profit, it's a good thing."
Ming Che opened his eyes, a cold glint flashing in his dragon pupils. "But for civilians, this void is a potentially fatal threat. The surviving civilians can only flee, struggling to survive like ants."
"And those who are only interested in profit don't care about the lives of civilians. They will only allow the void to continue to expand in order to satisfy their own selfish desires. Yawn~" After Ming Che finished speaking, he closed his eyes and stopped talking.
After hearing Ming Che's words, the deliveryman in the driver's seat fell silent. Even his grip on the steering wheel tightened, his black pupils dimmed, and a feeling of powerlessness surged through him like a tide.
The atmosphere in the truck suddenly grew tense. The deliveryman stopped trying to find a topic to talk about, while Ming Che listened intently to the information Long Hun had found online. The two of them sat in silence until the truck passed through another hole in the wall.
Ming Che looked out the window at the receding buildings, his eyes filled with curiosity about the new things. The truck drove along the street for a few minutes before finally stopping in front of a ramen shop. The deliveryman got out, opened the truck door, and began unloading the goods.
Ming Che looked up at the ramen shop's sign. "Bakuyutani" was printed in large letters, with the word "baku" placed in the middle of a red circle, drawing attention. Around the ramen shop were several round stools, where several office workers sat chatting.
Inside the ramen shop, a rosy-skinned man with a long black beard bustled about. Behind him, two bamboo robotic arms delivered the finished noodles to the customers. "Sir, your seafood noodles are ready." The young man, looking at the fragrant ramen before him, took a bite and couldn't help but praise, "Wow! Chef Qiaopu's cooking is getting better and better!"
The aroma of the ramen in the man's bowl transformed into a seductive finger, slowly drifting towards Ming Che, tempting the glutton in his stomach. "Gulp~" The rich aroma of the ramen made Ming Che swallow his saliva.
"What a nice smell! This must be delicious," he thought to himself. He opened the car door, stepped out with his right foot, and then stood up and left the passenger seat. "Gurgle!" Mingche's stomach rumbled uncontrollably the moment he got out of the car. Embarrassed, he lowered his head and rubbed his stomach.
"Hey! Young man, would you like a bowl of hot ramen?" Ming Che looked in the direction of the voice and saw Chef Qiao Pu waving at him with a smile. Ming Che pointed at himself and looked at Chef Qiao Pu in the ramen shop with confusion.
"Yes, that's right, it's you. Young man, would you like to try our specialty ramen?" Ming Che stood beside the truck, hesitating. Firstly, he didn't know if he had enough money on him, and secondly, he had more important things to do.
Seeing Ming Che standing there with a troubled look on his face, Master Qiao Pu thought Ming Che was worried about paying, so he greeted him warmly, "Come on, young man. This bowl is my treat, don't be shy."
Finally, Mingche's hunger overcame his rationality, and his legs uncontrollably dragged him to the ramen shop. He sat on the stool with his head lowered, a blush on his face. He whispered, "Thank you," and his face flushed even more.
"Hahaha! You're still shy, young man. It's okay, everyone has difficulties. Eat a bowl of ramen and keep working hard." After saying that, a large bowl of fried barbecued pork noodles was placed in front of Ming Che by the bamboo arm.
Ming Che picked up the chopsticks beside the bowl, scooped up a few noodles, and brought them to his mouth. "Huff, huff, huff!" Ming Che blew gently on the noodles to cool them down before putting them into his mouth. "Hmm!" The chewy texture of the noodles filled his mouth.
Ming Che's eyes lit up, as if he were swimming in a sea of ramen. "Slurp, slurp!" Ming Che's movements became increasingly faster, and in the blink of an eye, only a thin layer of broth remained in the large bowl of ramen in front of him.
Mingche licked his lips, still savoring the taste of his ramen. "How's it going? How's my ramen taste, young man?" Chef Qiaopu folded his arms across his chest and looked at Mingche with a smile, while Bamboo Arms behind him clasped his hands together.
"It's delicious! This is the best ramen I've ever had. Thank you for the invitation, boss." Ming Che gave Chef Qiao Pu a thumbs-up, not sparing his praise. "Hahaha! The young man really knows how to talk."
"Master Qiaopu, the goods have been delivered to the kitchen. Here is the receipt, please sign for it." The deliveryman came from the kitchen of the ramen shop behind Master Qiaopu and handed a receipt to Master Qiaopu.
"Okay, thank you for your help. Please sit down and have a bowl of ramen before you leave." Chef Qiao Pu warmly invited the deliveryman to sit down and made a bowl of big bone noodles and placed it in front of the deliveryman. The deliveryman scratched his head embarrassedly and smiled at Chef Qiao Pu.
"I'm hungry too, thank you, Master Qiaopu." The deliveryman picked up his chopsticks and began to taste the delicious ramen in front of him. Master Qiaopu crossed his arms and smiled at the deliveryman who was enjoying the ramen.
