Chapter 15: The Backflow Spell

Chapter 15: The Backflow Spell
"Your pick-up lines are really low-level." Xiong said in a low voice.

"Maybe I have no experience in chatting up a bear." Yaluo muttered.

He thought for a moment and then said, "Well, if I can find another way to turn you back into a human, could you please leave that Legacy Spell to me?"

Xiong opened his eyes slightly and looked at him, but he seemed a little disdainful:
"any solution?"

"Uh, this."

Yaluo couldn't explain it either. He felt that this system was somewhat mysterious. Zeshiya and Ji Xiaofei needed some hints before they turned into humans, but Taohu was transformed without any hints.

This bear had clearly given a hint before, but now it had no reaction at all.

"I can't say for sure, but maybe you can just be friends with me or something?" Yaluo said with a forced smile.

The bear stared at him for a moment, then lowered its head.

"Neuropathy."

"I also feel that I am a little crazy." Yaluo sighed.

"By the way, how long have you been a bear?" he asked again.

The bear was silent for a long time before he said:

"I became like this three years ago."

"Is it because of your teacher? Qiu Lisa?" Yaluo asked.

"Yes." Xiong nodded.

"At first, she deceived me and took me to take the qualification test for a mage, but what she actually made me perform was a curse ritual."

The bear growled and gnashed his teeth.

"During the five years that I followed her to learn magic, she had been conducting experiments on curse magic without telling me, and I was her experimental subject."

"It's not just me. If I'm not mistaken, the animals she keeps at home are also transformed from humans."

Xiong took a deep breath to calm himself down, then continued:
"After I turned into a bear, I lost my past memories and my consciousness as a human being. I was kept in captivity by her, just like all the animals in her home."

"If I hadn't found the diary thrown in the corner, seen my past, and awakened my memory, I probably would never have regained consciousness in my lifetime."

Its voice deepened.

"But I remembered. When I saw the contents of the diary, all my memories came back. I knew my name was Serena Edson. I was a human girl. I had a family. I wasn't a bear. I wasn't her pet."

"The diary became the delineation point of my human existence. I hid it from Qiu Lisha, pretending to be an animal while secretly preparing a way to escape."

"In order to maintain my consciousness, I had to recite my own name countless times every day and learned to write with a pen in my mouth."

"Qiulisa's magic power is very strong. If I move even slightly away from her house, I will be discovered. I can't just run away. During that time, she has been taming me and feeding me medicine. I drink the medicine in front of her and then secretly spit it out."

"And I can't just run away. I have to find a way to change back. When she's out, I'll look through her magic books and try to find a way to break the curse."

The bear probably hadn't been talked to for a long time, and suddenly it opened up in front of Yaluo and said a lot in one breath.

"So, you found it?"

If it hadn't found a way to change back, it probably wouldn't be here.

"Yeah." The bear nodded.

"What is it?" Yaluo asked.

Xiong was about to speak, but immediately glared at him and said, "This has nothing to do with you."

Yaluo thought for a moment: "Is it related to that spell?"

The bear didn't answer and turned his head away.

"That should be it."

"It has nothing to do with you. Some things, knowing them may not be a good thing." Xiong said in a low voice.

"Oh, thanks for the reminder."

Yaluo thought for a moment and then asked, "Then how did you escape?"

The bear looked up at the cave wall and pondered for a moment. "I've been thinking about this, too. I think it's probably because my consciousness as a human hasn't disappeared. My memories are still there, and my thoughts as a human are still there."

"Then, one day, I discovered that I had learned to speak again."

"After that, I started trying to use spells again, and was surprised to find that even in this bear body, I could actually still use spells!"

"During that time, I had already behaved like a real bear, which reduced her vigilance towards me and allowed her to travel without worry. So, I took this opportunity, took the things I needed, and escaped."

"I've been hiding here ever since."

"Won't your teacher find out about you? I mean, is there any chance that she will leave any marks on you?" Yaluo said.

"I thought of this. Before leaving, I used a purification spell to remove any possible traces. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to hide here for so long." Xiong said.

After a while, Yaluo asked again: "If you were to change back, would you seek revenge on your teacher?"

The bear was silent. After a while, it slowly said:

I just want to go home to my parents."

The atmosphere fell silent and neither of them spoke.

Time passed slowly, and when Yaluo was about to fall asleep, Xiong got up and walked towards the crucible. He whispered a levitation spell, and the blue viscous liquid in the crucible was sucked up and fell into a container prepared on the side.

The bear walked to an open area again, dipped the bristle brush into the liquid in the container, and began to draw spell runes on the ground.

The runes are very complicated, and Yaluo can't understand them at all with his current level of magic.

Ten minutes later, the ground where the bear was was covered with intricate blue lines.

Yaluo saw that the wooden box containing the iron sheet flew out of the saddle bag. The box opened and the iron sheet floated next to the bear.

Another set of clothes flew out of the saddlebags and was placed at the edge of the ritual circle.

At this time, the bear turned his head and looked at Yaluo.

"You, go inside the cave and wait for me to call you out."

"You don't need to be so wary of me, right? With my level of magic, what can I do to you even if I'm here?" Yaluo spread his hands.

The bear stared at him, a hint of helplessness in his eyes.

"If the ritual succeeds, I'll be naked when I return."

"Oh."

Yaluo went into the cave obediently.

He was still somewhat curious about how the bear would turn back, so he hid behind a stalagmite, from where he could partially see the situation over there.

Yalu vaguely heard Xiong take a deep breath and then began to chant a spell, but the spell was very short and obviously not from the Lost World Spell.

After the recitation was completed, a faint light flashed, adding a touch of red light to the bear's body.

Then there was another chant, which gave her body another layer of purple light.

"Is this the buff?" Yaluo thought.

He seemed to understand a little bit. Perhaps, with its current level of magic, it was unable to use the spells on the iron sheet, so it needed the help of rituals and various strengthening spells.

After a few chants, the brown bear's body was already lit up with colorful lights, and its hair was also lifted up by the air waves and floated, coated with a layer of colorful glow.

The blue lines on the ground began to dance as if they had life, turning into blue threads that surrounded the bear.

Yaluo actually felt divinity from a bear.

If this were placed in Journey to the West, it would at least be a Bodhisattva's mount.

The piece of iron sheet slowly floated in front of the bear, a flame ignited, and soon, a golden symbol appeared on the iron sheet.

The bear began to chant the runes.

The rune had six lines, and it was read very slowly, taking a full two minutes.

After the chanting ended, a golden light rose from under its feet and wrapped around it like a cocoon, tightly without leaving any gaps.

"This looks a bit like an advanced purification spell, so it should be the same type, right?"

Yaluo thought to himself that he had seen a purification spell in a spell book. It was also like this: wrap the whole person into a cocoon, and then purify all bad conditions in it. When breaking out of the cocoon, it was like being reborn.

Yaluo imagined what kind of graceful girl would emerge from the cocoon.

But it definitely won’t be a girl with animal ears.

Why, after all, did she not transform into a human like Taohu and the others, even though she had interacted with them before? Could it be because this bear was originally human?

Or is it for other reasons?

Comparing with what happened before, Yaluo had an idea in his mind, but he was a little unsure.

The cocoon state lasted for about half an hour, and Yaluo noticed that a crack had appeared on it. The crack grew larger and larger, spreading to the entire golden cocoon.

With a snap, the cocoon completely shattered, turning into golden fragments that disappeared bit by bit, revealing what was contained inside.

Yaluo opened his eyes wide and looked at the scene in disbelief.

What emerged from the cocoon and was reborn was still a bear.

Nothing has changed.

The bear looked around at himself and soon became at a loss, his mind starting to lose control.

"No, it's impossible!"

It roared, rushed out of the magic circle, ran to the bookshelf, pulled out books one by one, and roared as it turned the pages:
"Impossible! What could have gone wrong? The cyclone spell can clearly reverse any situation! Even if I don't have enough magic power, I have already used the strengthening array. What could have gone wrong?"

Yaluo walked out slowly and looked at the bear that was gradually collapsing. He wanted to say something, but at this moment, a burst of loud laughter resounded throughout the cave.

"What went wrong? Haha! You're so ridiculous! Serena, let me tell you, nothing went wrong. The only mistake is that you're a bear now!"

It was like a bolt of thunder struck out of nowhere, and after a dazzling light, a person appeared in front of them, a red-haired woman wearing a wizard's robe.

Xiong's expression was completely stunned at this moment. His body was frozen in place, his eyes were wide open, and he slowly uttered a word:
"teacher."

It was obvious that the person who came was the perverted wizard, Qiu Lisa, who turned Selina into a bear.

Yaluo's attention was immediately drawn to her highly revealing outfit, and he murmured:
"What the diary said is true. This woman is dressed like a whore."
