Chapter 33 Migration
Golden light sprinkled on the sparkling water, and spots of light danced in the wind. The sun was shining and the breeze was not dry. It was a good time for fishing.

By the river, Xiong Er squatted aside, tilting his head and watching Lin Lin busying himself.

Lin Lin checked it twice and confirmed that the iron hook tied to the end of the line would not loosen, so he hung the earthworm he had just dug up as bait and swung the bamboo pole suddenly.

"Roar?"

Xiong Er roared in confusion.

"Shh... I'm fishing. Do you understand fishing?"

Xiong Er blinked blankly.

"Hmm... just like this!"

Lin Lin was worrying about how to explain to Xiong Er about fishing, a leisure sport that is beneficial to the body and mind, when he suddenly felt a sudden tremor in his hand. He turned his head and saw that the tip of the bamboo pole suddenly sank and the loose thin line quickly straightened.

Lin Lin subconsciously lifted the rod with force, and with a slight "splash" sound, a fish twisted its body and broke out of the water. The struggling movement made the light hitting it shatter into fine golden light, which was very beautiful.

Lin Lin stretched out his left hand and caught the golden fish in his palm. Looking at this tiny creature that was only a finger long, he fell silent for a moment.

Small goldfish can be sold at a good price as ornamental fish. Depending on the size, the market price is generally around 300z to 500z. You can make a lot of money by catching one.

But the problem was, he was going to catch fish and grill them! He hadn't considered taking them away with him...

The dead goldfish was worthless and he couldn't take it away, so Lin Lin could only reluctantly throw the golden little fish back into the river.

Lin Lin turned his head and looked at Xiong Er. "Well, that's pretty much what fishing is all about."

Xiong Er still didn't understand, so he scratched his butt and walked straight into the river. With a swish of his paws, he scooped out several different kinds of fish, all of which were quite large.

It turned its head to look at Lin Lin again and roared.

Isn’t this more convenient than spending so much time on it?
Lin Lin: ...

He said stubbornly, "Fishing is all about the atmosphere, you don't understand."

That being said, Xiong Er was standing in the river killing fish everywhere, so it was impossible to continue fishing. Lin Lin had no choice but to put away his fishing rod, picked up the few big fish that Xiong Er had brought ashore, scraped off the scales casually, and strung them up with branches.

However, this time, Lin Lin did not use the most primitive method of making fire as he did before. He took out a small folding bracket from behind him, unfolded it in a few strokes, and only needed to turn the switch, and the compressed fuel stored inside would ignite a strong flame in the center. It can be said to be convenient and fast. The only drawback is that the fire is too strong and the food will be burnt if you make a mistake.

Lin Lin placed the skewered fish on the portable barbecue grill, turning the handle while humming a cheerful tune.

“Thump thump thump~thump thump thump thump~thump thump thump thump~thump~thump~thump~thump!”

After humming the tune, the grilled fish had just turned four and a half circles. Lin Lin suddenly raised the branch and held the grilled fish in the air to observe it.

“It’s grilled beautifully!”

The color was golden, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Lin Lin nodded with satisfaction, and then waved to Xiong Er who was still fishing in the river.

"Hey, come and eat!"

As the saying goes, if you call someone and give him something, people passing by will not accept it. But Xiong Er didn't understand this. He was just a bear, so he ran over happily.

In this way, the man and the bear took turns catching one fish each, and soon they had eaten up all the big fish that had just been caught.

Xiong Er was still reluctant to continue fishing, but was suddenly stopped by Lin Lin.

"Xiong Er! Do you want to move to another place?"

"Roar?"

Lin Lin didn't expect it to understand, so after identifying the direction, he simply turned around and left.

After walking a few steps, he turned around and saw Xiong Er still standing by the river in a daze. Lin Lin had to greet it again.

"Don't stand there, follow me!" When the afterglow of the setting sun covered the mountains, a green bear beast followed the hunter closely and came to a river beach.

A few lightning bugs were startled and flew out from the bushes with flapping wings, lighting up the dim shallows with dots of light blue light.

"Xiong Er, look across the street. That's where I live now."

Lin Lin pointed to the other side of the river, where there were scattered lights lit up in the dim light behind the vast tracts of fertile fields.

He turned to look at Xiong Er, the lightning of the lightning bug reflected in his pupils, "Let's live here from now on, okay?"

"It's safe here. No other large monsters will come near. I won't be unable to find you again if I return to the village."

So Xiong Er also looked at the lights opposite. The fiery red light was dancing, just like the blue light of the lightning bug beside him.

It suddenly had a feeling that Lin Lin belonged over there, while it belonged here, to this piece of nature.

Xiong Er lay down in a depressed mood, and thought to himself as if to comfort himself: It doesn't matter, Lin Lin will often return to this natural area, and the difference in region will not affect their friendship.

However, perhaps it should find a way to become stronger and experience more battles, so that when Lin Lin encounters trouble in the wild, it can help, instead of just taking him away in a panic like today.

Lin Lin took off the shield and axe on his back, found a rock to put it on, and then sat down against Xiong Er's warm body, looking up at the afterglow fading and the bright moon in the sky.

To him, Xiong Er is a friend and a partner. It was his own choice to become a hunter, and it had nothing to do with Xiong Er. He didn't want Xiong Er to put himself in danger in order to help him.

But when the words came to his lips, he thought that even without him, the ecological niche of the Blue Bear Beast would be relatively low. As long as it lived in the wild, it would be impossible to eliminate the risks. So he suppressed his thoughts, patted Xiong Er's arm, and said softly:

"I'm tired enough today, let's take a rest..."

……

The next day.

The morning light shone on his body, dispelling the dampness and chill of the night. Lin Lin pushed away Xiong Er's bear paws that were on him and climbed up from his embrace.

To his surprise, Lin Lin saw Sophia, dressed in the uniform of the scribes, sitting on a flat stone by the river. She was concentrating on drawing something on a book.

Lin Lin walked over and greeted him: "Good morning."

Sophia then realized that he had woken up. After smiling at Lin Lin, she raised the book in her hand and showed the sketch on it.

"How about naming this painting Man and Nature?"

Lin Lin recognized it at a glance. The main subject in the painting was Xiong Er, and Lin Lin was sleeping soundly in Xiong Er's arms.

"Very good painting, I want to collect a copy as a souvenir."

Sophia took the book back, held it in her arms, and smiled slyly.

"These are my research notes. I can't give them to you."

"But if you want, I can draw a new one for you."

Lin Lin touched his chin and said, "That would be too much trouble. Let's just forget it..."

"Huh? Don't you want to collect it?"

"But can't I have the notes?"

“So I have to redraw it!”

"That's such a bother for you..."

Seeing Sophia's sly smile turn into anger, Lin Lin's mouth corners rose uncontrollably. Ah, what a wonderful hunter's life!
It's really hard to write a pure daily life. I wrote it after a long time, but when I read it myself, I feel that it is just empty talk.
