Monster Hunter: I can hear the monsters' thoughts
Chapter 7: Jieyun Village!
Chapter 7: Jieyun Village!
After finally waiting for the opportunity to leave the wild, Lin Lin of course followed Kevin without hesitation.
But before that, he had to say goodbye to Xiong Er, with whom he had lived for more than a week.
Lin Lin walked up to the front of the blue bear beast, reached out to comb the messy hair on its forehead, gently put his forehead against it, and his tone was vague like a dream talk.
"Xiong Er, I'm leaving now. You have to take good care of yourself. When you go fishing, be careful not to go into deep water and don't provoke monsters that have a higher ecological niche than you..."
"Roar?"
Although Xiong Er did not understand the other person's whispers, he could clearly feel the faint sadness.
It rubbed Lin Lin gently with its head, in this way comforting this little friend who could make delicious food.
"Ha, why am I so sad? It's not like we won't see each other anymore. When I become a hunter, I'll come back to see you!"
Lin Lin quickly adjusted his mood, smiled and patted Xiong Er's big head, then took out a complete honeycomb and stuffed it into its paw.
As usual, Xiong Er sat there happily holding the honey and munching on it. Lin Lin smiled, waved gently at him, turned around and followed Kevin, gradually disappearing into the dense shadows of the jungle.
"Roar?"
Xiong Er looked at the direction where Lin Lin disappeared in confusion, thinking that he was just out looking for food like before, but when he thought of the strange sadness just now, his ears suddenly drooped down, and the honey in his mouth suddenly didn't smell so good anymore.
……
The stream area is really close to Jieyun Village. The reason why Lin Lin didn’t find it before was just because he was unlucky and went in the wrong direction.
But in just two hours, a red village built on the mountain came into view.
The entire village is mainly composed of wooden buildings. The knotty wood, which is famous for its toughness, is painted in different shades of red, bright red, dark red, and complemented by the dark brown of the wood itself, creating a staggered and unique village landscape.
The swaying crimson flags danced in the wind, and clear water could be seen everywhere, flowing down from great heights, filling the mountains with color along the dug ditches, and accumulating in the rough rock pools into hot springs with white mist. Faintly, there seemed to be melodious and soothing music drifting in the wind.
"This is Jieyun Village..."
Lin Lin stood at the foot of the long stone steps, looked up at the leisurely crowd coming and going in the village, and took a deep breath.
"Hey! How long are you going to stand here and watch?"
In front, Kevin turned around and said helplessly to Lin Lin.
Lin Lin collected his thoughts and hurried to catch up, but his "savage attire" seemed too out of place among the crowd, and the villagers passing by couldn't help but look at him a few more times.
Kevin noticed this belatedly. He shook the honey Lin Lin had given him as a friendly gift from his backpack, thought for a moment, and said,
"I'm going back to the meeting house to settle the commission. Please wait for me for a moment. I'll take the money bag and go to the village workshop with you to make a set of initial equipment. You can't wear this outfit to go hunting."
Lin Lin opened his mouth, wanting to thank the other party for his enthusiasm, but due to the language barrier, he could only nod and give a thumbs up.
"Teaching an apprentice is my duty!"
Kevin chuckled, but didn't say it out loud. What if he said it first and the boy didn't agree? He had to give him some benefits first before he could ask. After all, he would be grateful if he received what he received!
The meeting place was located in the center of the village, which was on the top of the mountain. Seeing the other party walking away, Lin Lin withdrew his gaze and began to wander around.
I have to say that what you see in the game is one thing, but it is another thing in reality. At least according to Lin Lin's perception, Jieyun Village is actually very large, and what you see in the game is just the tip of the iceberg.
"Hey! You look suspicious! Who are you and what are you doing here?"
Suddenly, on the hot spring stone platform nearby, a young man dressed in a blue-orange cloth sat cross-legged, staring at Lin Lin with a serious expression. Lin Lin tilted his head and returned the questioning look.
"Huh? You ask who I am? I'm Master Iwata, the aspiring hunter known as the Jieyun Ghost Guardian!"
The ghost guard who called himself Iwata pointed at himself arrogantly, and then continued to question him with an aggressive attitude.
"You haven't told me yet, who are you?"
It turns out that Jieyun Village has a gatekeeper. Seeing Kevin leading me in so swaggeringly just now, I thought there was no one guarding the gate!
Lin Lin spread his hands, pointed at his mouth, made two "Aba Aba" sounds, and simply played the role of a mute.
"Huh? Can't you speak?"
nod.
"Well... so pitiful... ahem, it's nothing, I'm just asking a routine question, don't mind it!"
Lin Lin: ...
Forget it, it’s also good, at least it saves trouble.
"Iwata boy, why don't you take care of your farm instead of acting like a security guard?"
The fist as big as a casserole landed on Iwata's head with just the right amount of force, making him dazed but not hurting his brain.
Iwata covered his head and turned around, only to see Kevin's burly figure in red and blue standing behind him, the shadow cast by his tall body completely covering him.
"Uncle Kevin! You hit me on the head again! What should I do if you make me stupid?"
The young man was making a big fuss, but in front of Kevin he was dragged aside like a little chicken.
"You want to be a hunter? If you can't even handle this little bit of power, how are you going to face those monsters? Huh?"
As he spoke, he patted Lin Lin's shoulder hard, making Lin Lin grimace.
"Look at this kid's physique. He doesn't look very strong, but he's very powerful. He's a good candidate to be a hunter!"
Kevin showed the purse at his waist and said, "Let's go to the workshop and get your armor made!"
After saying that, he strode forward. Lin Lin waved to Iwata and quickly followed.
The processing house was not far from the main road of the village, and soon a red brick house with a red fire burning came into view.
The boss of the processing shop was a bald old dragon man, his body shrunk into a small ball, with only four fingers on his hands, pointed ears, a high braid on the back of his head, and a sledgehammer taller than himself on his shoulder. He was directing several apprentices to heat up the forge with a frown on his face.
Seeing Kevin in his Fire Dragon, Scythe Crab outfit, the old dragon man greeted him with a smile, "Isn't this Kevin? How was your vacation trip to Jieyun?"
Kevin stretched his limbs, his expression clearly showing satisfaction, but the words that came out of his mouth were:
"Well, that's about it. This place is nice, but it's just too peaceful. I've been soaking in the hot springs for two days and my bones are itchy, but I don't even have a decent hunting commission."
The old dragon man saw through his duplicity at a glance, but instead of exposing him, he changed the subject:
"Okay, okay, then you came to my workshop not because you were itching to try a different weapon and wanted to make it harder for yourself, right?"
